Tall pines and some newer plantings line many of the fairways on this easy-going, well-maintained and relatively uncomplicated golf course just outside the popular holiday town of Kaikoura. The Kaikoura Range of mountains stand proudly in the background, State Highway 1 flanks one side of the course and the sound of the sea is never far away. With less than 5,600 metres to cover from the men's tees, accuracy can give way to length in your game strategy from the tee. The final hole is a short par-3, played from an elevated tee-box to a green completely surrounded by bunkers front and back and on either side.
