T. P.Played a quick 9h today on the back 9. Had been raining a lot but the course was still very playable and not at all affected by the weather. A great parkland course with two very memorable par 3s: 11th - high elevation tee box looking down on a beautiful green. 16th - play the edge of the river to hit the green. Shoe cleaning area had a very powerful air hose which was fantastic for cleaning the grass off my shoes quickly. I can imagine that this course would be stunning on a sunny summers day because it’s at the foot of the Kaimai ranges.

D. C. (.Nice course, with some cool undulations, elevation, and sloped fairways. Greens were fast and true. Lots of walkers which I like to see. I would definitely recommend if in the area.
Unfortunately it closed early on the day I happened to go, so I had to rush and didn't get to play all the holes. The green fee seemed fair, but the cart fee was very high. I prefer to walk, but there were no pull carts so I had to carry a bag or take a cart... I chose the cart because of the aforementioned rush.
A. M.greens actually good - impressive even, so credit to the club for that fairways ok, especially considering winter, so yes a bit damp, tees substandard
$50 for affiliated , too expensive - this is a $35 max green fee - esp during the week
note to board - drop green fees to reasonable rate, and you'll get more visitors, which you can clearly handle - with resulting bar cafe increase

G.Absolutely awesome service, facilities, Golf Course and of course Manager, Staff and members we took 91 Wednesday players from Omanu Golf Club To Matamata Golf club, they welcomed us with morning tea, and with their members help allowed us to have a multi tee start from 10 tees, they processed all our cards and printed our results for our prize giving, also made sure we had great bar service and plenty of food available for after golf. Could not fault the experience, thank you Dave and your great team, LawrieG, Omanu Golf Club

J. A.Fun and challenging course and in very good shape. Golf carts are very old and dodgy, only one guy that takes care of club house /bar / and greens do hard to find him sometimes.
