World class links course, not to be missed if you are in the Tasman area

Teed off with the Ladies on Tuesday with cloudy weather but such a nice day. 18 holes for affiliated member $40. Fairways green but the roughs very dry. Greens very fast and in great condition. Some bunkers quite deep and did manage to get out of the 2 I got in. Very friendly club and having locals show the way a bonus. Planes very very low and on a couple of holes you have to wait if any in the vicinity. Will definitely play again if back this way. Carrot cake and cheese scones delicious. Thankyou

Nice links course. Wind is a challenge as you'd expect. Good food upstairs. Staff are fantastic. Very close to the airport with is an added curiosity.

We visit the Club regularly for monthly group meetings. It is popular amongst golfers, as it provides a good driving range, club facilities and a well set out links with sea views. Plane spotters will also enjoy being there due to the proximity of Nelson Airport. The club boasts a well-run Cafe, which is open to the public and serves a nice range of snacks and meals at reasonable prices. It is a popular lunch venue. There is parking available alongside the clubhouse. Wheelchair access to the Cafe is available via a lift. Well worth a visit.

What a wonderful hidden gem. Cafe manager is so welcoming and a real pleasure to chat with. We are not golfers now, but the cafe and staff are excellent. Can't stay away, and gathering our friends to come for coffee, and also lunch. Monique, you are a real credit to the cafe. We feel as though we have made a friend.

Food really good. BUT Catering manager very unwelcoming. No greeting or smile. Perhaps she feels we should book ahead for coffee for our small group of 6 or 7, which we would find impossible to know beforehand.

A good old links. A hard long and unforgiving track, or you could just play it down the middle and enjoy your round. A tad noisy with the airport nest door. The clubhouse is well catered and the pro-shop well stocked.

This is a beautiful links course. The greens were so pure. I guess i was lucky there was no wind but i imagine that's its best protection. It is well maintained and i understand they have just installed watering for the fairways. A must play for keen golfers.

Fantastic scenery, views of mountains and close up views of sea and airport, with planes taking off overhead. It has been a dry summer, and the fairways have suffered badly, but the greens have been maintained well. Twilight golf is an absolute bargain, course was deserted.

Great links golf course kept in amazing condition year round, great pro staff on hand as well to help with any golfing queries and coaching. Having the GC quad on site is also a massive boost to the golfing enthusiast.

Great food and drinks, friendly staff and a superb clubroom with delicious home style meals, and outstanding views over the course. I haven't played the course for 30 years, so I have no valid appraisal of the actual course.

Cafe food choices are great. Staff are very friendly and obliging too.View of golfers approaching clubhouse is outstanding too.

Great layout, a true links course with awesome bunkers. Friendly staff, inviting for visitors. Occasional planes overhead can be distracting.

You need to be very careful navigating the first 4 or 5 holes as it is quite difficult to judge where the fairways and greens run. Keep the ball straight, or youwillbe punished by the rough where it is very difficult to find a ball. In summer consider an orange golf ball. White balls disappear against the areas of dry grass.

The General Manager James Cooper is doing great things at Nelson Golf Club. Have noticed numerous improvements and more services and events offered since he started.
