K.My partner and I had a fantastic stay here and can not wait to return. The room was very clean and tidy and had everything that we needed and the view over looking the bay was beautiful. Location for us was fantastic.
The staff were wonderful, accommodating an early check in request after my partner busted his knee and ended up on crutches, they went out of their way to change his room to one closest to the lift to ensure he didn’t have to walk any further than needed.
We also ordered room service for dinner which was super fast to arrive and I can highly recommend the fried chicken. We will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Wellington! Thank you again to the fabulous staff you truely made our staff an enjoyable one!
S.Great place to stay with awesome breakfast. The rooms are pretty good too and spacious with good storage. Located in a great space with water views, close to the Wellington Zoo and Te Papa museum.
D.Have stayed here twice in the past couple of months and always receive a warm welcome from reception and find them very helpful.
The rooms are cleaned to a high standard with comfortable bed and pillows.
On both occasions the only downside is the breakfast service.
Understandable that during these C-19 times things need to be managed closely but both times have felt rushed to order, eat and move out.

J.Package through Grab One. Initial delay due to outbreak of covid restriction. Then the reception was flooded so you entered through the back door which wasn't inviting at all. Check in was quick. Room was impressive, especially of the views. Breakfast had to make a reservation due to c19 cares. The breakfast felt rushed by the staff, very quick to expect an order. I had the same breakfast both days and the presentation was different on both days, one was stylised the next day no style. Room was comfortable. Great hot water in shower. Beds felt luxurious.

R.We stayed here for two nights in October 2019. The hotel is located not far from the center, directly on Oriental Bay. Many sights are within walking distance, for example:
Te Papa Tongarewa only 650 m away, the Salamanca cable car station is around 30 minutes away.
The rooms in the hotel were good, food and drinks were okay. The staff and staff helpful and friendly.
A.Price point is good. Location brilliant and as for the sea view.... However, a little dated and needs a bit of TLC.
Service is great. Friendly and helpful staff.
Tip get a coffee from Lola's 1 min away to your right as you leave.

e.Honestly, expected more for the price. We were on the 9th floor and instructions to get to room were incredibly unclear, other guests felt bad for us and helped us. Small room, teeny tiny balcony and there was hair in the shower from the last guests. No basic amenities provided apart from toiletries and 1 pillow each and 1 towel. Bed is very comfy and staff were great however.
J.The service from Kenny was exceptional, he was funny, professional and made checking in brilliant. Huge shout out to Kenny. The rooms are what you’d expect and the easy walking distance to Te papa is handy as well. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

m.In a Northerly wind in which the plane just landed, we were given a north facing room on level 8. The windows coped well ,as did the tiny little radiator, which just about took the chill off the air. Nice sized rooms. Staff not the friendliest. Both warmer rooms and staff at more modest and less known locations. Would not choose to stay here again .
A.Excellent location! Our room was lovely with a water and city view. Highly recommend staying here, our room had aircon which worked fantastic. The curtains kept all light out which is great for people arriving late and wanting to sleep in. Customer service was exceptional.. definitely will be returning!

But staying here was altogether a very different experience. Read the negative accomodation comments in other posts and make your own decision. If you are a grabone client be warned. Rooms were tired and not of the high standards one would expect for the price range.
F.Very nice hotel. Got the double bedroom unit with 2 large beds in 2 separate "rooms" with the ocean view. Overall experience was very good. Staff was generally very friendly and the room was really good size with an amazing view.
Very convenient n close to popular tourist destinations like Cuba Street and Te Papa.
Also offers all day multiple entry parking for $25 a day. Car park however is very small and parking is very tight. Tip: reverse in to carpark to avoid needing to back your call all the way to the exit when the carpark is full.
N.Great location with good views if you're on the front side. Overall the room was adequate and comfortable but a little tired in places. WiFi did not work at all in our room. Very comfortable bed and good sized TV. The bathroom was smaller than expected but also adequate.
P.We had a really pleasant stay for a couple of nights. The top floor room was spacious and the view was great. Niggles were minor, like the soap ration was miserly. Good value and felt good not to use AirBnB for a change.
L.Stunning views from (most) rooms, bar and restaurant on 7th floor with views, comfortable bed, modern compact bathroom (with a view while you shower from my room!). Great staff, helpful, friendly, good sense of humour. Really central - 5 mins to Te Papa, great restaurant on the water just across the road. In short, I loved it!!
I.Room was clean and tidy, spacious with a good view. Had all the toiletries you would expect but NO toothbrush and toothpaste. Had to chase at reception. Also at the price point some biscuits in tea/coffee facilities would have been nice.

D.Stayed here 12 months ago and were looking forward to the harbour views , the bed and great location for the ocean swim at oriental bay nothing let us down this hotel still have the best hotel beds so so comfy , the room was on level 9 just a tip if you want a room with an uninterupted harbour view room 912 back tower- which has 2 twin beds as the rooms at the other end of the hallway have partially obstructed views . yes the hallways need updating but the rooms are clean this is an honest and accurate review
H.First time in wellington. We paid little extra for harbour view our room was 922 was kind behind the other side of the hotel therefore the view with block of concrete plus some siggarete smell from the balcony which was by the bar at level 7.
Bathroom was small and no hairdryer even thought Web said there will be one. also wasn't sound proof. People possibly next to our room were having a party with loud music and singing along till mid night. It was very annoying as I wanted to have good sleep as I got up super early that morning for the flight.
staff was very friendly and we arrived about 9 in the morning the room was ready , we were so pleased and applicated .I dont think we will go back again but overall was ok accomodation.
R.Personally, less than what I expected. View from our room was nice. Bed was comfy, room was clean although no plastic bag in the bathroom bin. Best thing about breakfast was the hash browns. View with breakfast was nice. Nice stay but overall disappointed.
J.Came here for a 2 day conference and the venue was quite nice. We were lucky enough to have lunch provided each day, however the quantity wasn't very much and we were often still hungry after the meal. That said, the food was nice and the view from the upstairs balcony was beautiful.

m.My friends and whanau this hotel is the place to be 10-15 minutes walking distance to central downtown and close by shops and eateries bars etc i will tell you this about this value for money and great service from all , the staff there will make your stay worthwhile the rooms are awesome with waterfront views of Oriental Bay i can't speak more highly of this place from the staff and service to the food and drinks .
I do highly recommend this hotel peeps you will not be disappointed a must stay spacious rooms with big bathrooms pending on what your budget is so this has to be up there for places to stay whilst in the Capital .

V.Room had a great view, but no seating on the narrow balcony. Very clean. Couple mistakes by staff let the Hotel down. Unscheduled 6am wake-up call & room being serviced after I had been out for a few hours. Staff throughout seemed lacking in interest. First & last, time here, for me.

J.Food was excellent, I had the beef Wellington & bomb Alaska for dessert. Rooms were fantastic & spacious, especially the view of wellington. We stayed on the 6th floor. However the shower water pressure could be better. The only thing I would complain about was due to the hallway to the room being very narrow, it was hard to move the baggage trolley past the laundry bags that were piled up by the lift, me & my family had abit of luggage so we needed the trolley. This is why I gave the hotel 4 out of 5 stars. Apart from that I would recommend this hotel & would stay here again.

J.Great spot for walking to city sites. Pool down one side, New World, with brilliant bakery, city side - both easy walks. BUT the hotel itself is over priced in terms of service. Extra $25 per day to park car (and no guarantee it's within hotel space). If staying longer than 1 night, housekeeping is shockingly slow! Limited servicing of tea, coffee etc and yes, bring your own biscuits and biodegradable rubbish bag. Hotel needs upgrades, small towels an example. So make sure you get a front room, as the view is its value.
N.Great pumpkin soup on room service menu. Fab waterfront location and view... Breakfast only fair as scrambled eggs only like warm and waiter was impossible to understand....

L.Really nice room with good beds and service. The let down was the bath room, shower head leaks out the sides, the shower door doesn't seal so water covers the bathroom floor creating a slip hazard, the ceiling extractor fan doesn't work and theres dark spots on the roof above the shower.
Other than this the place and friendly staff are awesome
T.A superb hotel with excellent services. Location was perfect with great view of the harbour and with a slightly long walking distance of the city centre, the parliament buildings and some wonderful museums. Parking was a little pricy but …

A.Clean, large room, overlooking the harbour. Very well appointed. Spent three comfortable nights. Very quiet location, in a residential district. Walking distance to Te Papa museum, a must see for the innovative display of the uniqueness of New Zealand. Near shopping and eating-out locations. The hotel's own restaurant offers a wide selection of food and drink, including some Indian food and good New Zealand wines.
Would gladly stay again, if the opportunity arose.
L.Friendly staff.Hotel good central location. Clean comfortable quiet room. Poor view from balcony. All we could see were parked cars and the roof of an old camper van. Corridor to our room looked very dated and tired. Had to take two different lifts to get to our room which was a nuisance when getting our luggage to and from our room.Reception area was modern and clean. Good breakfast plenty of choice, good view from restaurant. Would probably stay here again.
S.This hotel was perfect for what I needed as I was working an event at Te Papa and it was a lovely walk each day along the waterfront to get there.
My room had a lovely view of the harbor and was comfy if a little worn around the edges.
The staff was great, responsive to my requests and quickly got things up to my room when necessary.

r.We booked a superior room with views, but had to change as poor view and grotty room. The next room was much better, great view and very comfortable.

The restaurant staff were very friendly also, offering advice on the menu and very attentive service. The food was delicious - the vegetarian risotto and garlic bread were perfect.

l.The staff made our wedding anniversary special!! They went above and beyond. We dined at one80 restaurant and again staff were exceptional. My only downfall is the twist on the lamb shanks with curry. It doesnt fit well for my liking. We most definitely will be coming back. Thanks for an enjoyable night

Such a good location. Easy access / walking distance to down town city Wellington and train station not far.
We had free access to a nearby aquatic gym with hot pools, full gym equipment . The hotel was right on the water front which meant we enjoyed water and city views from our room.
The staff here where very helpful, friendly and really looked after us.
They were very attentive to details and went above and beyond in making our stay here memorable.
The food and restaurant here was delightful and delicious and the service was wonderful.

C.Called into the Copthorne to see if they had an available room after going to the James Cook (our usual home away from home) and being told there was nothing available. So glad we did! We had a beautiful bay view, the bed was comfortable, the restaurant and food was great, the room very quiet and the staff were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will be back for sure.

A family on the floor below us were noisy which dampened our stay but the hotel itself and the staff were great.
B.The location of this hotel was great. Close to the CBD and shops etc, a great view of the harbour and , being runners, the walking/running track around the harbour. It was also a short drive to the airport to leave. The room for the four of us had two separate areas, as opposed to rooms, but was ample in size. The wifi was fast enough to stream and the staff were very helpful, dropping what they were doing to help us with a few bags.
In a rare occurrence, we got room service for dinner that was a good standard and arrived quickly.
Get out for a walk around the harbour, or relax with a beer/wine/softdrink and watch the harbour at work or the passing parade of runners and walkers.

B.Nothing short of exceptional. Aside from the beautiful location everything from the service in the lobby to the immaculate room spoke of quality. Valet parking was a little expensive but much needed. The restaurant was exceptional with obviously talented chefs. Our stay was fantastic.

Our suite was perfect with all the mod cons with luxury spa bath and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in out of all the hotels around NZ.The quality of food was so great that I had to shout the kitchen staff and chefs a few beers as well as giving the waitress a huge tip! I love this hotel and will make it my only pic for my guests on our tours when we are in Wellington

D.Great place to stay in the heart of the city with glorious panoramic sea views across Port Nicholson Harbour. Comfy sized room for a couple with good amenities well maintained. A small balcony was an extra treat not expected.
Street parking is available but not cheap! Next time we think we'll park in the Kapiti area and catch a rail unit into the city. As our car was just parked for 24 hours!!!
Been on Oriental Parade a brief walk into the city, or cross the road for Waitangi Park and then onto the Waterfront and Te Papa.
Staff very polite and attentive without being in your face or too helpful. Well it was a great stay.
V.This is a great hotel and situated in an amazing location close to shops, restaurants, gym and aquatic center, not to mention a picturesque Oriental Bay. Friendly staff. Room interiors may be in need of some renovations other than that I would give it 5 stars.

S.Great location with beautiful views of the harbor. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but it seemed to be a bit short of help. The valet was prompt and the young porter who delivered the honey-lemon water to my room was adorable and helpful. When I saw him the folowing day he inquired on my health.

The hotel is near Courtney Place (easy to find good cafe, restaurant and bar. Near a big cinema, supermarket and Te Papa museum. The hotel itself is well maintain though not new. Breakfast supply of hot food may be a bit slow on a busy day. Good view of Wellington.
T.We spent 4 nights with our 18 month old daughter at this resort. All in all a good hotel in a good location with great transport connections. Very nice hotel with great facilities. The people in the hotel were very helpful and polite. Well worth the money to stay here.

L.Very accommodating manager when we arrived with a rather large camper van for a nights respite in a months roadtrip. We had booked the stay, and parking, way in advance with tour operator and when we arrived were informed the van was too big for the car park, James sorted us out promptly and without fuss. Legend!

D.Stayed here for two nights. Well situated for Te Papa, amazing views of Wellington. Left booking very late and therefore only $350 per night. Shame no air conditioning and shared balcony!

T.For me this is one of my favorite places to stay. Just far enough or of town that you can walk to work, but not far enough that you feel disconnected. They have great family room options so consider it when your planning your family holiday.

Only issues were that TV audio on one channel was out of sync and a little more expensive than nearby alternatives. Some in-room complementary WiFi would have been good... Not just the free 30min in the lobby. WiFi access was $3 for an hour or $9 for 24 hours and not a lot of MB.
Didn't try the pool this time... Just took a swim at Oriental bay instead. :)
Will stay again when I feel like a little local treat.
G.Clean rooms; though ours was a tad small. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was quite tasty. If you decide to go out for dinner, there are many excellent restaurants nearby. Close to the waterfront with all there is to see & do there. I'd stay here again.
v.Great central location; rooms are spacious and clean (we had a Superior Harbourview Double); the 24h reception is very handy.
Some of the “harbour view” rooms on the upper floors are in a building behind the main one; therefore the view is disturbed by the view of lots of concrete.

a.We had vista room on top (10th) floor in corner. Fantastic views of harbor and city. Very windy which we enjoyed, but can be quite noisy! Sitting room is an odd layout, but bed/bath combo nicely done. Overall room is large. Hotel has a nice bar & reception area on the 7th floor, too. Located towards end of harbor with Mt. Victoria right behind. Many restaurants nearby.

d.The Copthorne is more like a botique hotel. Small, efficient and responsive. The hallways are small and narrow but when you open the door to your room, surprise! The rooms a large with beautiful views of the harbor. The decor is to the modern minimalist side but very nicely done. Room service is prompt and courteous. There is a great resturant on the seventh floor called One80°.
T.I have stayed here dozens of times. Reception service great but restaurant not to good. Very slow service. 30 min wait for a drink and an hour wait for main course. Go elsewhere for a meal.

G.View was ok depending on where you stayed in the hotel. Room was average. Value for money just isnt there. The room per night was around $190 with no breakfast and I had to pay for parking. This is the first hotel I've stayed at in NZ and breakfast wasn't part of the cost of the room and I've never had to pay for parking before apart from another hotel in Wellington - maybe its a Wellington thing although probably not. Even so $23 per night was way too much. I stayed at the West Plaza (opposite the town hall and 10 min walk to Te Papa) a few weeks before and the rooms were no different in quality and breakfast was included as part of the cost of the room. All this for only around $120 per night and yes I did have to pay for parking but it was cheaper at only $19 per night. I didnt eat in the restaurant as theres plenty of eateries in Wellington and so can comment on what the food was like but I did look at their menu and it was no different to anywhere else and the prices were no different either.
All in all I wouldn't recommend it and I wont be back and would go for the West Plaza instead.

S.I always book/stay at Millennium hotel, however a bit disappointed with their booking system this time. They lost my credit card details twice and then when they billed me it was $70 over what they had quoted on their website when I booked. Not sure i will book here again.
