M.What a spacious place. We love the grand views out to the ocean. The golf course juxtapositioned with the bush is beautiful. A feeling of serenity.
After days of camping we decided to treat ourselves last minute and took one of the last rooms. Room 6, which was ours, was a corner room with lovely views. The room was expansive and suited what we wanted to stretch out.
The resort offers great tracks for riding and walking. And a basic gym but enough.
The main restaurant has a surprisingly limited menu. To “balance our macros” we had the dozen oysters between us and the fish of the day (salmon with broccoli, beans, fennel) and a glass of the Karikari estate Chardonnay. You’ll need more if you are hungry, but this hit the spot for us.
D.Stunning location with friendly, attentive staff. Rooms are spacious, clean with all the necessary amenities. Food in the restaurant was delicious and with generous portions. Plenty of activities available. The golf course is incredible (golf pro was very helpful also!). The perfect place for a romantic and relaxing break in the most peaceful surroundings.
k.Worth staying for the golf and comfortable clean rooms. Pillows and mattresses were too soft. Hard to sleep well. Service staff are excellent in restaurant specially Max who gave great service to our large group of guests. Food in both the main restaurant and Kari Kari estate could be improved. Breakfast was superb!! Generally a satisfying stay.
D.As far as the restaurant goes they need to teach their staff some basic skills like greeting guests with a Hello. I was so surprised at such an upmarket venue to be treated like an inconvenience. If they're having a bad day teach them to fake it. The Vue bar was better with a nice platter, wines and great view.
C.Stopped in for a drink at ‘view bar’ after buying some wine at the cellar door. Amazing views and location, the bar was sparsely stocked, one corona left but more out the back. Also could not do cocktails as no fruit left, the barman was great and was using the one lemon he had left!! Come on that’s not great so we did not order a cocktail.
n.Wow just wow, we had wine tasting and lunch at the winery cafe today and everything from the tremendous views, to the fabulous (best seafood platter we’ve ever had) food to the wonderful friendly super efficient staff was exceptional. So glad we stopped by. 🤩
t.Beautiful views but poorly organized staff, expect long wait times on a busy day. Food and drinks are pricey( a "large platter for 3-4 people is basically an average sized tray of finger food and will set you back $82) all that said you really are paying for the view and it is spectacular.
K.Perfect place to enjoy your afternoon. Amazing view, great tasting drinks and very friendly staff. Highly recommend the new ‘Vue Bar’, newly revamped with a great selection of drinks and talented bartenders.
J.From the wine tasting to the food and the Medium Meat Platter (that was massive) we had the most amazing experience. Loved everything about it and thank for having us.
S.Unfortunatly I since have returned to this spot for seconds and deep dissapointment. Service was a shambles and coffee was burnt. 3 stars overall but I'd prefer a 2.5, very inconsistant. What follows is my origional reveiw.
Champagne breakfast followed by 18 holes of golf in what was my best golfing experience so far.
Eggs bene with bacon was great, eggs poached to perfection, great hollandaise sauce and slightly crispy bacon 👌.
Golf was great, well maintained, interesting holes and a great backdrop.
Only downside is a high price but with a golf nz membership you get healthy discount.
5 star spot for a 5 star man.
d.Stunning venue, lovely staff and an overall classy experience. Highly recommend the new "Vue Bar" best view ever and fantastic live music. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.
E.A must do visit when up North. Love sitting outside enjoying the view and sipping on good wine. The food is incredible; large portions and can't go wrong with the pizzas which are amazing! Also a big fan of the salt n pepper squid! Hope to see you again soon!

m.What an absolutely gorgeous location we found ourselves in over the weekend at Carrington Resort. The golf course is hands down the best course I have played to date! And was in great condition. We play a lot of golf, so this is no small bit of feedback. The Villa was immaculate and we where treated so well anywhere we went on site. Please put this on your list of places to visit
G.Very welcome and friendly staff. Golf course are one of the best in NZ. Accommodation is dated but no problem. Our family spend good break at resort. We will come back again. Highly recommend to all!!

U.Fantastic helpful staff at Carrington Resort Estate. On a last minute request my parents were doing a road trip for their 42 Wedding Anniversary and my fathers 66th Birthday they were staying here. I emailed to organize to have a bottle of wine left in their room with a card to say we had book them into dinner and was on us (their kids) the staff were fast, efficient, helpful, and were happy to help with any request I asked. My parents were well looked after and enjoyed their stay, dinner and strolls along the estate. Thank you team at Carrington Resort. Highly reccomend with a great team of staff.
M.Went here to the restaurant so my rating is about the restaurant. It was slightly overpriced for a couple of tradies but the food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful also had air conditioning. All in all good food but overpriced to portion size and they forgot some drinks.
1 year later and playing golf this time my rating has gone up.
N.Two couples, two nights we stayed in a Queen Villa. The Villa was clean and comfortable. Stunning views over the course put to the sea.
Only played 9 holes of golf. Its a challenging course that needs work. The restaurant dinner was our absolute stand out. Chef Wayne and his team
G.Absolutely stunning views from the restaurant, no matter which way you look. Also great as a dog-friendly restaurant, with the staff even bringing out a bowl of water for her. The food was delicious and the wait time wasn't too bad considering how busy they were. The staff are quite casual, but fairly attentive and happy to help out

I did feel it was a little pricey for what it was... certain rooms have no view & left me feeling disappointed.
$320.00 a night.. no breakfast or even a bottle of complementary water.
Was woken early by Restaurants alarm sounding. Was happy enough but not somewhere I would return at current pricing.
T.We were quite thrilled to find a restaurant in the far north that was superb. The service was outstanding as well as our lamb and scotch filet on the bone. We’ve been back again with the same experience of excellent food and friendly smiling waiters.
S.First time visit to the Resorts Resturant and the views were great. Also staff very cheerful. Dinner was superb and their wine was amazing. Do try the red Hell Hole 2016 awesome and the Karikari Chardonnay 2016 very buttery sooo delicious.
T.Golf Course layout is of international standard and the service and courtesy given to visitors is world class. From the smiles at reception to the ease at which you can drive around the course on your cart, to the ability to finish your game and take the cart up the hill to the winery for drinks and food. Simply stunning

B.Great experience at the Restaurant where the staff helped me propose to my fiancé by reserving the best table, providing a GFV menu, playing our song over the speakers AND videotaping me getting down on one knee. We had such a time we are kind of thinking we could get married there too!

M.Beautiful estate with a private walkway and access to karikari beach(a long walk), 18 hole gold course, tennis courts, shooting range, a beautiful restaurant, a winery up the road, a gym, and my favourite a beautiful Infinity pool with a hot tub! Would be handy if there were pool towels at the pool, rather than reception.
Huge rooms! Wonderful view over northland and incredible sunsets. You can hire golf buggy’s to go around the course. I stayed in the lodge in room 1 which is an accessible room as it was the last one available. Lovely Maori flax bags as art in the room, big shower and great eco friendly products and even mosquito repellant wipes! Bathroom needs an upgrade- maybe something with rocks on the walls. My problem was that someone has smoked in the non smoking room and it was horrendous the smell of smoke, it was in everything, the sheets, the towels etc. I went to reception but there were no rooms left so I asked for spray. I aired the room out and nearly used a whole can of spray. This should have been followed up before I arrived, but also not the hotels fault for terrible guests smoking. They should have been charged for it. Check out isn’t like in Europe it’s very early at 10am. Should be 11am. Check in closes at 7pm so ring ahead to check. The restaurant is exceptional! Wow I had the lamb and it was so perfectly cooked and a huge portion! The wines are from the karikari estate. Breakfast could do with improvement. There was scrambled eggs, a few cereals, basic bread, yoghurt, fruit and espresso coffee extra. Needs more organic items and maybe omelettes and pancakes etc.
Quiet slice of paradise. Staff are very friendly and helpful and all local kiwis that I met.
Matai beach just down the road is beautiful!

S.Another fantastic weekend. we've been up several times and its always been great, such a beautiful setting. For a course of this standard and quality coupled with the accomodation and other facilities it is ridiculously good value compared to anything else even vaguely similar.
S.Service was slow. Selection of food was limited for morning tea/coffee. Ordered largest most expensive platter not enough bread (cheapest item on platter) had to pay for extra.Felt staff needed to up their game as lot of tourists around.
L.Nice resort in a great location. The rooms are large, quite although the decor is dated probably from late 70s. Room was clean with free tea, coffee and water. Great golf course and fantastic beaches with white sand nearby.

S.Carrington Estate: Although it's a longish drive to the northern tip of the North Island, the scenery alone ensures you are well rewarded, and two of New Zealand's golfing jewels await ... the much heralded Kauri Cliffs and the also stunning Carrington Estate.
In this blissfully natural and tranquil setting, you can forget the hustle and bustle of city life and pit your skills against this challenging, immensely scenic and thoroughly enjoyable course. And if you still want even more elevated views, take the short ride up to the Karikari winery and sample some of its really excellent wines.
