Nice picturesque course played with the family. Also a helpful groundsman. Lost my sunglasses and we were able to locate them with help of his quad. Thank you

We had a lovely family meal. Food was great. Lovely views out over golf course.

Bit disappointed, that's why 3 stars, was told in tauranga to go play this course. The greens weren't that great, the holes in the greens were worn and two greens were very temporary,. One green you couldn't putt on. At 60 dollars around seems abit steep.

Loved it friendly campers from all over AOTEAROA and over seas excellent stuff to make sure your all right and common room and kitchen and toilets cleaned loved it

We were very lucky to have been able to secure what seemed to have been the last table for the night as we had not made a reservation. After a bit of confusion at the outset as to whether they could accommodate us, we had a couple of drinks, a great meal and the staff were friendly - especially the young waitress that looked after us! Good menu, good selection of drinks and very popular it seems with the locals.

My partner and I stayed there for 2 nights, we had an absolutely amazing time! The appartment was fantastic with all the utilities, view on the lake and mountains was amazing especially for sunset. Joe was very helpful and kind! We can't wait to come back!!

The place is amazing. With the natural reserve area next to it and the 6 km long it’s hard to find better places to spend the day. We stayed at the Matarangi Villas for 3 weeks and explored from there the peninsula.

So good!!! Course was in amazing condition. Staff work really hard with good equipment to provide an amazing course. Pro shop and bar/ Restaurant staff are great. Thank you

Brilliant!! From Leanne and Nicky at the start in proshop (even tried to arrange a local to join me as i was on my own) to the finish, a wonderful experience Tees fine fairways mostly good but the highlight was the greens - tremendous! as smooth as silk - been member of Mount Maunganui last 15 yrs and when Mount at its best its the equal of 'The Dunes' right now - thanks Nicky and Leanne - (even a pod of orcas spotted from 11th tee) keep up the great work Andrew (H'cap 3.6)

Welcoming pro shop.. Bar/restaurant very good.. Finishes with a par 3, great to watch whilst enjoying a drink/food... Excellent piece of land...half of the course routing is away from houses... Could have been a top class course had they done fescue turf, had wider fairways to increase the strategy and not sold so much real estate..but I guess it's the compromise made to fund courses.. nevetheless an enjoyable course, pretty vistas & pines, not a whole lot of width, not too long and has some interesting holes/greens... a good package if you're in the area... I'd play again..

Never played golf went for a beer and a lunch.

Had a great weekend away with the lads. Course a bit worn after the summer trade and np rain. But pretty good considering. Got some nice pizzas and better bar service than we had had before. Thanks Simon.

Great resort, very quiet and secluded. Highly recommended if you need a weekend away. The only complaint was the staff weren't fully onto the booking, after a long flight from Dubai, and driving for 7 hours to get there, the reception was closed with two numbers to dial on the door. I rang the first, got no answer. The other phone number lead me to a guy who was away in Australia. But eventually got it sorated. The place it self is to die for. The lake views from the apartment is breathtaking.

Worked here for the summer, friendly staff, good banter and the best pizza ever! Saw the bar tender mix a drink we didn't even have on the menu and everyone tried very hard to keep the service friendly and helpful.

Golf course was in great condition. Restaurant food and service was exceptional.

Great place to chill, grab a drink. We loved the ambience. We'd go back to try their pizza, but wings were a bit burnt and we couldn't find the squid in squid rings. Overall a nice place to hang.

The beachfront development of Matarangi boasts a championship golf course, which is somewhat schizophrenic in character. The front nine starts with two very good, tight tree-lined par-4's, and then becomes rather American in character. Located at the far-end of a sand spit, it comprises several excellent holes in a compact and natural area of high pine trees, with wonderful views onto the Pacific and into the Matarangi inlet and Whangapoua Harbour.

I stayed in this amazing resort for about 3 nights in 2014. Beautiful and very quiet place to relax at. I really miss this amazing place. Coming back soon to NZ

Front 9 is barren and poorly kept. The back 9 is older and georgous. Clubhouse and staff fabulous. Worth a round but wouldn't play the front 9 holes again.

Course is in wonderful condition and Club/community hub a great place for a snack and refreshment.

Golf club with bar tab and tv. Does not stay open late, passed 12 due to licence. Can be closed for private functions. Does coffee, breakfast, has restaurant yet to try.

Small things let down what could be a 5star. Hard thin bed, ceiling fan not working etc. Otherwise great facilities. Modern and tidy

Spacious property for golfer. Bargain deal during the off season but please note that there are no restaurant around the area during winter

Stayed in one of villas on a weekend away in Matarangi. Villa was clean and tidy. Some minor maintenance required but overall no issues

Shame really...Beautiful spot but poor service and very average food, even at peak holiday time.

As regulars at Matarangi, we are regulars at The Dunes. The menu is not large but it is tasty and does the trick for sure. No complaints here. We will no doubt be there in the future

The Dunes Resort no longer has any accommodation so do not try to book with them.There are some villas for rent but not by Dunes Resort which now only runs the Golf Course
