b.I stayed there during my MIQ. This was my first time ever in New Zealand and the staff at the Rydges made my introduction to the country a pleasant one. The food is amazing and I had a magnificent view of the harbor. I was able to watch the sail boats from the comfort of my room. Hopefully I can stay there again under better circumstances.
G.Our week of MIQ was made so much more bearable than we anticipated thanks to the wonderful staff here, so grateful for everything they did for us. Food was wonderful, catering to dietary requirements and a wee baby so well. Staff are super friendly and helpful, can’t thank you guys enough 😊
B.(for the MIQ version of Rydges) Everyone is very pleasant and ready to be of service. It is strict of course, but it's easy to see that's the only way to run a facility like this. They are very careful about cross-infections.

A.Did my MIQ here. Room was comfortable. Staff very correct in following protocols. Food was, by MIQ standards, quite good.
J.A solid hotel experience. While I spent time here in isolation so my experiences were somewhat unique and differ from day to day operations, so some elements are difficult to comment on. The rooms are clean, fresh and modern while the views depending on which one you get are not spectacular the natural light coming in is pleasant. Staff are very friendly and on a whole the food was well prepared even if not always to my tastes.
J.We don't really know what Rydges Auckland CBD is like outside of our room because we're in Managed Isolation. Here's what I do know: our view is fantastic, all of the staff and military working the isolation facility is kind and sometimes funny but take what they're doing very seriously and are sticklers for the rules. The room is small but comfortable, and my bed is perfect. Not too hard, not too soft, just right. The shower in here is incredible with its powerful spray, and the meals they bring us are eclectic and flavorful. At the moment, we can't leave our room, but we're happy, and nothing about this managed isolation feels “abusive” or “communist,” as I've seen some people state in complaints in the news. Here's my thought, If you don't want to isolate (intensely) for 14 days, then don't return to NZ until the country opens back up, plain and simple.
K.My partner and I have quarantine here and have found the experience to be fantastic. The food is incredible with different cuisines covered as well as naughtier options one meal and healthier the next creating a wonderful balance. The staff have been so kind and the nurses have been so friendly, we feel like we're really taken care of. The beds are also incredibly comfy and the shower facilities excellent! We feel so lucky to have such a lovely place to quarantine. Thanks Rydges!
M.Great hotel in general, with an amazing team of staff that will go boyend your expectation with their service. I stayed here for one night three times over the course of the last 12 months and have never been disappointed once! Add on top of the service, the breakfast buffet is one of the best, providing meals that range from just cereal to top quality buffet style meals.
E.Stayed here in Jun 2014. Enjoyed the view from the window, and its close to the sky tower :) The rooms are clean and spacious, but being tourists I only need a room to sleep and rest in :) Overall good place to stay whenever you are in Auckland :)

K.Clean and modern, stylish hotel with updated facilities. Great location in the central area, with walking distance to skycity casino, sky tower, main streets and harbour. Only one negativity is the front staff for check in and check out was not friendly and not professional enough. There is a few desks but only 1 receptionist at the time. Very slow process and also not offered warm welcoming.
R.Room was fantastic - huge with a full kitchen and laundry. The bed was incredibly comfy with extra blankets and pillows available. Also had a great view! They have the option of paying a one off fee to watch as many movies as you'd like in a 24 hour period. Fantastic for winter. Really appreciated the late checkout and the helpful information in the room on things to do as well as all hotel information. Staff were very efficient and knew their stuff well. Very happy with stay.
L.Hadn't been looking forward to 14 days' isolation........but my room was very comfortable, the staff were cheerful and helpful and the food was excellent.
O.The rooms were a comfortable size, clean and we slept well . Breakfast had a good variety, including gluten free options. I liked that there was a fridge available. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Supermarket, pharmacy and lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance.

M.Great service, healthy food, kids menu, friendly staff, close to everything, its great at this hotel, the food quality is great too. They're all very helpful and kind, posted views from the rooftop and the quality of the food which is delicious and you get snacks in between.
S.We were lucky enough to win a stay via a competition, the rooms were fantastic, really comfy beds and nice, clean tidy rooms and bathroom. Unfortunately missed out on the opportunity for breakfast due to taking a while for check out (there were heaps of us!) but the staff are super friendly and helpful which makes the hotel one I will be returning too!
A.A surprisingly nice hotel. Staff members are friendly and attentive, and the food are yummy and properly made. The conference rooms are nicely fitted with good lighting, although the passageway can be quite tricky to navigate to find the room.
H.Excellent location with various points in the city within walking distance. Skytower 5 mins. Harbour 10 mins. Plenty of food options on top of the hotel's restaurant. Rooms were clean and staff were very helpful.

J.Great location. Welcoming and helpful reception and bar staff. Free drink for roof terrace event was enjoyed! Room very clean but only drinking water available was in mini bar which was expensive but necessary after a days travelling. Would have expected a couple of bottles to be available as part of the refreshment tray.

R.In general it's quite a nice room and the hotel is nice so a 3 is a fair rating if offset against the price. If you are a smoker though I don't recommend it at all unless you are happy with standing out on the street to smoke as they have no dedicated smoking area on the premises.
C.Great hotel in the city centre with views of the harbour bridge and sky tower. Friendly staff and well equipped rooms. The only thing I was disappointed about was when we ordered room service for dessert the apple crumble was tiny!!! And yet cost $19 plus $5 tray service fee. That was a bit of a let down. But otherwise very enjoyable stay.
G.Lovely hotel. Very clean. Good breakfast variety. Two minutes from the Sky Tower. Had a late flight home but was allowed to use the shower in the gym before leaving which we were very grateful for especially as we were flying to the UK.
M.Had my 21st birthday on Rydges rooftop back in 2017. Great views, scrumptious buffet and lovely hospo staff. Only thing was that you had to source your own security guards for your event, in order for it to proceed. Another added cost to venue hire + food/drinks. They should be very clear on their website about all the requirements in order to host an event at Rydges. I was lucky that one of my uncles was a security guard and had contacts he could utilise.

Walk in....smells lovely, professional, warm welcome, friendly staff, clean easy check in and valet.
Affordable @ 2 people and we were upgraded at no extra cost which was a pleasant surprise, lovely view and very much appreciated...thank you. Most comfortable bed and cute complementary goodies. Other guests were friendly and said they were enjoying their stay. Thank you House keeping, lovely quick and professional 👌

A.The food was delicious and the ladies that took care of us in the private room were lovely. Bar service was great too. There was an unfortunate incident in the ladies where the toilet was blocked and had been for some time, so a number of us had to report it. The concierge lady I spoke to about the booking was not very friendly or welcoming when I said we were there for a birthday dinner. She just told me the bar and restaurant is that way and ask them.
D.Overall very nice clean hotel. The gym doesn't have hand weights but does have some machines and is open 24hours!!! (Thank you!) . I had dry cleaning done and it was perfect and prompt. My bed was very comfortable and clean. The room is pretty modern with lots of plugs available. It is in a good location too. I had huge glass windows on both sides of my room which I loved. Thanks.

N.This is a super nice hotel in my opinion. Breakfast was included with our booking (though I'm told that is not always the case). Whether or not included, you should do the breakfast. It's fantastic. The shower was very nice! Staff was awesome. Wish we stayed here longer!
j.I only went to attend a seminar so cannot comment on the accommodation. Friendly helpful staff and valet parking available (at a cost). Nice bar/ meeting lounge on the ground floor. Seminar room was well set up, welcome drinks served. Also had nice fresh finger food platters, including healthy options and a variety of drinks served midway through our evening.
S.I was very disappointed with the aircon system; you have to manually turn it on every time you come in your room (even after you key in your card). However, they offer more plant-based dishes on their menu and I was very glad to see this.
m.Great location. Very close to the wharf, sky tower and shops. Rooms are big albeit with smaller closets. Housekeeping did a great job all four days that we were here. Valet parking is a little expensive. Their breakfast hours are until 11.00 am which might be useful for some leaving later in the day.
C.The television reception was suboptimal. At times it was quite blurry. The fan in the bathroom was not working properly. The air conditioning unit was temperamental. Excellent large shower. Best breakfast buffet everything was absolutely delicious. All staff were very welcoming and helpful.
S.The beds were the comfiest I had in my whole NZ trip. The room was small but tidy, practical, and well presented. I had the full buffet breakfast included with my room and it was very yummy but the coffee that was included was undrinkable. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would probably stay again.
M.Hotel is ideally situated and has many eateries nearby. the nearest supermarket chains (both countdown and new world) are about 05 mins walk away. Rooms are clean and relatively spacious, whilst the staff are usually friendly and accommodating. I would like to commend the front desk staff who helped me book the horse riding tour on waiheke but unfortunately i had lost her name. One thing i do have to mention about the rooms is that they seem to always have those half screen shower areas in the toilet, making it slippery once you step out, which is a fall hazard. I hope it can be changed.
B.Had dinner there last night. Food was delicious. But the best part was the restaurant staff. They were brilliant helpful friendly and very informative. The Brazilian hostess went out of her way to make the night so special. The waiter and I apologise if I get his country wrong Dutch. He also was great. Good suggestions attentive perfect. Both are a credit to the rydges.

R.The location was great, close to shops, town centre, Sky city and plenty of other things. Parking was expensive. The rooms were very clean and tidy with a modern design. The TV system was poor, it kept crashing and freezing, you don't need it. The kettle didn't fit under the tap. Customer service was excellent.
T.The quality of this hotel's personnel is matchless. Understanding, solution oriented, patient. The service I got, the quality of the room and the cleanliness of the gym made me admire this group (Rydges) even more. Very fast internet, a reasonably priced restaurant. Good location.
N.The accommodation was nice, clean and the rooms a good size with 2 twin beds occupying two people comfortably. The bedding was heavenly.
The conference facilities were very good with morning and afternoon teas (very important) timely and of a good quality.
The breakfast buffet was ample with significant choice. I really liked the smoothies, although they could have been a bit bigger than 'gulp' size!
The lunch buffet too was lovely with plenty of choice.
Only negative, the check-in/check-out process was slow. The hotel could have had more people on at peak check out time, i.e. 10am. The queue was at least 6 groups of people checking out at the same time.
T.Stayed for two nights recently. I will definitely be going back to stay there. Such a thoughtful design which makes life easier for travellers like us. Rooms in the hotel are very clean. Most of the people who work there are very professional. Great service at check in and check out.

A.Couldn't fault the place.. stayed there with my partner and we're not really used to staying in hotels but we thought it was really great.. there was a little complimentary chocolate each and free tea, coffee, sugar and milk.. a spacious room with a big comfy double bed, a comfortable chair and a desk with a desk chair.. there was a wardrobe and place to put your bags/cases, a mini bar with quite reasonable prices.. there were multiple lights and one had a dimmer switch, there was aircon and a full length mirror.. there was a TV and when we entered the room there was a welcome message with my name on it.. what more could you want? .. the shower/toilet was a touch small but the shower was really nice, good temperature, great pressure.. we paid for the buffet breakfast at the café/restaurant place and this was also amazing, so much choice and variety! The room was pretty expensive for our budget but I am not sure how it compares to other places because, as I mentioned, we're not used to staying in hotels.
S.We thoroughly enjoy staying for 5 nights. Our room was comfy and our bed was cozy. The staff made us feel welcome and showed the finest hospitality in Auckland. We will definitely return as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

J.Stayed here a few years ago and just came back. As good as ever, friendly service, vallet, tidy modern rooms, best of all the best buffet breakfast I have found anywhere - has everything you can think of. The cut restaurant is also delicious!

N.Good location for shopping. Need better complimentary shampoo and conditioner. It didn't cover all my hair so I went out to buy more because it would only be enough to clean a short bob. Gym is pretty nice but the ballet barre was very much blocked by a treadmill. Need to figure that out. I do a lot of barre work. What's the point of the bar if it's blocked? Did was good. A bit pricey but it wasn't amazing. I went out for food and the food tastes better elsewhere. The staff were a bit abrupt compared to other hotels I've stayed at with less stars. It's looking a bit old internally. Might need updating soon. Location is pretty good for shopping. Ferries and britomart foodsries not too far away which is good.
T.Room was 5 out of 5, and service was great. Food was a mixture of fantastic and just bad. My partner attended a conference in the hotel and could not fault the conference food, simply exceptional. However, for room service we ordered pizza and a side of a CAULIFLOWER GRATIN which was supposed to be served with a kahurangi blue cheese sauce. The sauce was a disaster, runny and very thin, no substance to talk of. The cauli was over cooked and watery, the pizza base was under cooked and lacked quality with far too much cheese. The location is great, and room clean and comfortable. The humour though was the bathroom, I have included a photo of the sink, where clearly the builder spent more time consuming the mini bar than fitting the tap as horizontal takes a new meaning.
J.Husband and I stayed here 3 nights ago for a concert at Spark Arena. We were put in Room 907 which was a lovely room. Looks like it had been recently renovated. Curtains and drapes looking very new. The shower water pressure is basically non existent and there appeared to be no extraction fan in the bathroom hence it fogged up very quickly. The 2nd night I requested a rollaway bed as I had a friend join us for another concert at The Town Hall. Bed arrived after ringing and reminding housekeeping at about 2 pm. I also requested an extra wine glass and some plates and cutlery. This finally arrived after the 3rd request and 3 hours later. We were incredibly disappointed that at after the Friday night concert looking forward to a night cap cocktail at 10.55pm. The bar was closed. Although there were men sitting at one of the tables still drinking their beers. Yet they refused to serve us a cocktail. I did ask at reception to see what time the bar closed only to be told ‘When they feel like it’. We were completely shocked that on a Friday night in the heart of the city after a show at the Town Hall the Hotel that we were staying at had closed the bar. Very very disappointing.
S.Awesome location, just a few steps away from SkyCity, so it is really close to your departure points and the big attraction of the city: Sky Tower. The room was spacious and well equipped. Staff was friendly and always willing to help.
M.Service is lacking compared to other hotels of similar price. No doorman, no welcome drinks, staff talking amongst each other rather than being attentive to guests. I am a VIP member which was not acknowledged, nor was my room upgraded, I am entitled to free late checkout which was not offered. Upon leaving the hotel at checkout time there was a line of 20 people with only one staff at the counter. I will not stay at this hotel again as there are many other options.
M.Good location a block from Sky Tower. Was good at restraunt. My room was spacious. Shower had good pressure. Included a safe and hair dryer.
E.They were lovely except for when we called reception to ask for tape. They told us it was coming and we waited and it didn't come even after telling them we had somewhere to be. We rang back and they said it was coming. Eventually we went and asked at the reception and turns out they didn't have any. In that regard service could have been better. Breakfast buffet had a wide selection and had their own flavoured milk, smoothies and a chocolate fountain which was a nice touch.
S.Rooms are standard business hotel size. Toilet layout is abit awkward. Room are clean but the pillows are very soft. Sound proof is not so good as you can hear people walking pass your room. The aircon is slightly noisy. Excellent location and very good service attitude, especially Duty Manager Whisley Ang.

M.I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. The hotel itself from the foyer to the room was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly. The room itself had 2 good sized double beds even though it was just me. However the room was quite small. The bathroom was good size. I had issues with the TV in that the reception was not the best. It was quite pixelated and occasionally cut out. Also even though I was on the 13th floor it was surprisingly noisy from street noise a few times. Location wise it is very good being near the city centre. I also found it easy to walk down to the viaduct from here.
L.A good conference venue. Catering was very nice. Table arrangements in the room were a bit awkward no doubt because the numbers were a lot to accommodate.
C.I stayed there a few weeks ago, top quality hotel, I've been with Rydges for a few years now but I haven't been back to Auckland in over two years. The personal touch really made it worthwhile. Good job folks
R.Spacious room with good natural light. Good bar and restaurant options though a bit expensive. Good location in central city. Entrance can sometimes be packed with parked cars making it a bit difficult for guests to walk in. Staff are very friendly and the overall service great. I would definitely recommend Rydges Auckland.
T.Rydges is in an excellent location, just down a block from the Sky Tower and two blocks from Queen St. The rooms are VERY tidy and quiet. Beds are comfy and warm. Staff all seemed friendly but we only spoke to them when we checked in and out, rather than organising anything with them. Will definitely be returning if we can.
j.I was staying at your Hotel last week mainly for work, but decided to stay an extra night during the weekend, my partner joined me, and i must say it was the most pleasant stay we have had in Auckland to date, the staff were incredibly helpful, attentive and always had a smile, the Buffet breakfast was to die for, as it had anything and everything you could want for Breakfast (including a Chocolate fountain). We loved the Green option for the rooms, and the fact that you provided a $10 voucher per night was just icing on the cake (well technically it was coffees in the morning) we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay with you again, well done team and Thank you
T.Great location. Nice and central if, for some reason, you find yourself having to spend time in the city. Room was perfectly servicable. Very nice and clean. Only nitpick would be that the shower pressure was a tad low.
M.I visited a friend who was staying there. It was a very clean environment. Staff appeared friendly. There was a nice semi casual feel to the lobby and bar area. Great view from the room.
T.5 star hotel with friendly staff great facilities albiet on the small side in terms of size of funtion rooms and guest rooms especially one in the heart of the city. Prices are indicitive of hotel pricing in the city which are high but relative to other hotels its competitive. Food and beverage are what you would expect from 5 star hotels but the hotel is within walking distant of bars and restaurants as well as the casino.
R.Nice 4 start hotel in the middle of the city. The location is great for accessing the city and surrounds. The conference rooms were large and well equipped. All the usual services are available. Well recommended.
K.‘Rydges Auckland’ a modern hotel in a great location in the heart of Auckland CBD. The hotel is maintained to a very high standard and rooms are all kept very clean by the friendly staff. Customer service is also very helpful. The Bar located inside is also very convenient and state of the art. Rydges Auckland suits all groups of people from families, couples, to corporate functions.
T.I always felt well taken care of. Smaller than sky city double room. The room amenities did not seem as high class as my previous visits. Good location for getting to all key places in AK City. A few blocks away there were ***y restaurants to shops to walk to.
S.As a quarantine facility, Rydges Auckland was an excellent partner with government agencies and defence forces. In a highly organised enviroment, the staff was frienldy, professional and completely considerate of the guests. The meal service is fantastic and barista in the lobby is a early morning blessing. In an extremely managed enviroment the hotel exceeded as an intergated partner with the government to ensure NZ remains safe.
R.Buffet is absolutely delicious with a wide variety. Loved the room i was in. So clean and perfectly laid out. Its just my 2ns day here today and i have another 13 days to go so... fingers crossed

Y.All the trimmings of the main areas of the building are just underkept. Makes it feel not that great. But otherwise it has great potential. I was there for a function and didn't access any bedrooms which may be nice or not...
The walls and lighting and main areas just felt unclean or airy and unhomely or comfortable... I probably wouldn't be tempted to get a room there from what I saw going to my function... I remember the deck also seemed like it could have been tidied up a bit better... but memory is hazy now... It's a hotel in the city with probably a high expense, some basic cleanliness and inviting feel kind of stuff just feels necessary from a city hotel.
V.The staff very hospitable and friendly. Food was delicious with good choices. All services were very well organized. A worthwhile visit.

I recently completed a 14 day mandatory isolation at Rydges Auckland, staff went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
S.This hotel is very centrally located in Auckland just a few minutes walk from SkyTower. Rooms were large and spacious and well equipped with toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities etc. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful. Only stayed two nights but all good.
A.Beds were comfy, room clean and tidy. Quiet! Great location. Great incentive programme to 'be green' and resist room cleaning each day in exchange for a $10 certificate to their restaurant. Nice. Concierge Terrence was lovely which made up for a less than enthusiastic checkin.Although the rooms have been refurbished, they still need a little love. Our lights wouldn't dim and the lamp was broken. The window latches were loose and hard to open the windows. Would not have been happy paying full price. Winter rate was reasonable!

B.January 2019 - This is my updated review on this hotel. I’ve stayed here twice and both times were amazing. This hotel is tucked behind all other high-rise buildings in Auckland CBD but is on the same street with Sky City Casino. It is one of the best accommodations in Auckland. Bear in mind, it is also not the cheapest. However, you do get good professional customer service, clean room and a 24 hours reception cum room service.
The front door is locked at night, and you will need to use your room key (i.e. a swipe card) to open the front sliding glass door. There will always a hotel porter/ receptionist to greet or acknowledge your presence (i.e. saying hello to you).
The lift also requires the room key before you can [only] enter the floor level that you are staying and also to other general amenities. There is a restaurant, a bar, conference area and a gym. I haven’t check it out, so I can’t comment much on these areas.
The bed/ mattress that I got was medium firmness and yeah, it felt quite comfortable and very good. Also, the bathroom area is very clean and presentable, and I didn’t see any mould or mildew in the bathroom or the room.
This is a licensed premises and you can order alcoholic drinks 🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺 at the bar or even drink in your own room.
I’m not sure about parking 🅿 but there is a valet service.

Jan 2014 - Good location, with walking distance to most areas. Clean and tidy room, and smells very nice unlike some hotels with a musky smell. Good room size. Excellent customer service and staff is very professional. Also the breakfast is awesome. ☺👌

After staying at Rydges in Melbourne, the breakfast buffet here has limited gluten free options. It's also missing the fresh salad bar option.
There is no guest laundry so had to go off site to have clothes washed. (there is a dryclean option though)
While the curtains in the room are black out, they don't remain tight to the walls so light comes through & can affect sleep.
I would say this is place is fine for a few nights, just not for long term stay.
P.Room and service were great as was the breakfast and the food provided for the training, however I was very disappointed with the meals offered in the restaurant in the evenings.
I gave it a go twice and was disappointed both times. I then chose to eat elsewhere in the evening.
K.Comfortable beds, the breakfast was fresh and loved the gravad salmon and feijoa smoothie. . Kids was in heaven when they saw the chocolate fountain. The only bad thing was the layout of the bathroom.

F.I was treated by a very special person in my life with a Valentines dinner last night. We had an 8pm reservation and received a very warm welcome. Unfortunately something went wrong and it took us 2 ½ hours to get through a set 3 course meal. The food was good and although we decided to just relax en enjoy the evening, many other couples didn't appreciate the poor service to a point where several people left without finishing their dinner. This caused an unpleasant atmosphere and made some other people feel a little uncomfortable and probably spoiled a special evening for them! Surely you could have done better than this!
M.Awesome stay at Rydges - staff were amazing, room was a good size with everything I needed and in great condition. The hotel TV system was awesome - could easily mirror my laptop screen to the TV and play a movie from my laptop. The Wi-Fi was fast and easy to use.
I couldn't fault anything with my stay - would recommend to anyone travelling to Auckland.

S.A friend was staying here for work so we met in the hotel bar for drinks before we left for dinner. The wine was lovely. I had a Pinot Grigio and my friend had a Sav. We also ordered the artichoke and spinach dip which was deliciously cheesy but extremely heavy on the garlic. So much so that we headed up to her room to brush our teeth before we went out again.
N.My favourite hotel in the world. Neivlin and staff are a credit to the brand and the industry. The buffet breakfast is more than worth it. And for an amazing experience sit at the bar and allow Adam to teach you the finer points of the art of mixology
C.Rooms were fine but the bathrooms were awful. The bathroom is just one open tile room with a sink, toilet and shower faucet attached to the wall with no door or shower curtain - so the entire floor gets wet after showering. The tiles (both floor and walls) were stained and mildewy. There was no counter to set your toiletries on. It reminded me of a prison bathroom. The receptionist touted the "harbor and sky tower views" when we checked in - but then put us in an 8th floor room directly facing a concrete wall (even though we mentioned we were stopping over on our honeymoon). We tried to get laundry service at 8pm (which they charge double for "express 5-hour service") - but then said they couldn't get it back to us until 9:30am the next morning(?) I wouldn't stay here again.

L.This review is for rooftop function space . Brilliant area for a party or wedding with glass surrounding the area so you can enjoy being "outside" partly with no wind. Staff were all excellent and welcoming . Would recommend this function space .

L.I was disappointed to experience a fire evacuation for the second time in a row of staying. Last time 1am this time slightly better at 8am. While I understand these things do happen I when I checked out I asked if they were offering discounts for the disruption to which I was told "no". I asked what the reason for the alarm was and was told "it was a false alarm it does that sometimes" I would have thought that if there is a known ongoing fault the company would look to try and fix it to avoid such future disruptions to customers. I was even more disappointed to then find out another person I know checked out moments after me with a different staff member and was offered a 10% discount when they asked. Extremely disappointing and I will certainly be thinking twice before choosing to stay again.

A.We rented rooftop function area at Ridges. Really nice place with panoramic view over Auckland City and Port. The food was good and the service was on point.
T.To be frank after choosing Rydes over the years and recommending same to numerous business colleagues I will reconsider recommendation. There was a fire alarm drill (.) during our stay and the staff dealt with it wonderfully. There was a rail below the sink however this was barely big enough to hang a tea towel.
N.New year's Eve event, this event was very good as it provides free flowing alcohol, chocolate fondue and some other food. The view of the fireworks is limited, so if you are going here just for the view, don't. The rooftop is covered and has a small section to take a look at the skytower. If you are up for a new years party then this is for you. If you want a view of the fireworks I would say give it a miss
T.Paying cash in a developed country like NZ is strange. The wo*** who checked me out was less than pleasant. I did and when I got to the room the moist and the mould smell was unbearable in that room. Toilet was smelly in spite of excellent cleaning each day.

My partner was on a delayed flight from Wellington (because of high winds flights were cancelled and 2 attempts to land at Auckland because of low cloud and heavy rain). We arrived pretty frazzled at about 9pm. The staff offered to park my car , we were upgraded, we had a bar meal and a couple of drinks to unwind, with 1pm late checkout and a really nice room service breakfast we had a nice time!

A bit expensive but so is every accommodation in the city. Very close to the Sky city, Countdown supermarket as its in the middle of the city. Skybus to the airport can be picked a few metres away from the hotel.

l.Conveniently located right smack among restaurants and bars. We were at Rydges Wellington just before coming to Auckland and I thought the Wellington rooms were bigger and had a nice kitchenette. The Auckland rooms felt smaller and had a weird orientation (room door opens and faces the toilet while when you lie on the bed and turn towards the door, you actually face the cupboard instead of the door. Toilet basin space was small and lesser space to place my big toiletry bag. But overall room was clean and the buffet breakfast was really good!

L.We recently stayed at The Rydges after having a stressful experience with our previous accommodation (basically it was terrible in every way possible, we checked in, went up stairs to the room and came straight back down and checked out again). We were in Auckland for Ed Sheeran and there was not much left in the way of replacement accommodation at the last minute in the CBD. We found the Rydges and booked the last room available straight away. When we arrived the staff were lovely and the lobby was very welcoming. Most of all it felt safe. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the Rydges is in a really convenient location - close to everything. Our experience at The Rydges really turned our weekend right back around! We will absolutely be back :)

Special mention must go out to Vince Patena who went out of his way to make sure we were catered for, even coming in on his day off! Stayed on the 14th floor - only observation is that the maintenance work that was being undertaken on that floor over the weekend was quite noisey.

Again came to stay while working an event up at the Skytower. I do have a deep connection with the hotel as the Skybus from the Airport stops just around the corner, and you can walk a block up to Skycity.
Being a smaller hotel it is quick to get in and out of the building due to 3 lifts servicing the floors.
Takeaway coffee is available in a lobby
Even though I never get time to spend more in the hotel than my bed cost the staff cannot do enough for me, or others in my party. Will be back in May 2018
