Great place for ages 5+ (Younger if they're adventurous). Brought some kids ranging 6-12 and young adults 19-20 for a couple of hours and they ALL loved it! The beginner walls are close enough to keep an eye on everyone in the group but spaced enough to not be clustered and there are LOTS to choose from with varying difficulty. Workers are incredibly helpful and are great at talking to children in a way that they can understand why safety is important. Coffee is good too (bonus). 5 stars.

My son loves it here! He had his birthday here before and we return as he enjoyed his time! Bigger indoor wall climbing, so much to choose and climb.. and for a good amount of 2 hours spent, he just burns his energy and wanted to come back again..

Great place that hasn't really changed much over the years so you know what to expect. We had our girls birthday upstairs which include the climb as well. Staff where helpfully and fully experienced. Kids had a blast would recommend going toilet 1st as its hard taking the harness off in hurry for the little ones. They have everything there for any age or experience and change the climbs up regularly on left side only. Parking out the front and also on the road. A must do experience.

Great place for the kids, and very safe. Good price and open late, definitely a good workout trying to keep up with the little ones. Remember to take shoes and water bottle. Friendly helpful staff, lots of parking and tucked away in a small industrial area off the main rd in Glen Eden.

Awesome fun! Took our 5, 3 and 1.5 yr olds climbing for the first time and the older two had a blast. I also climbed for the first time in 10 or so years, thank goodness for the auto-belays. Also, an AMAZING collection of Star wars themed lego on the top level was a nice bonus. Only suggestion for improvement would be to make one or two of the fun walls more suitable for shorties like our 3yr old.

You have to wear a mask every time you sit down which is weird and pointless cause when you're climbing and breathing on everyone near you and then go sit down it's too late anyway? The walls were fun though

Good times for the whole family to be had here. Climbing is simple, pay your money and away you go. It is as hard or easy as you want it to be. Great exercise for all, however be prepared for a bit of sweat. Loads of fun on the kids climbing wall. See if you can complete all of the kids walls for a complete workout. Coffe and snacks on site if you need a break they have viewing and rest areas on multiple levels. You can take snacks or a packed lunch or dinner. Check this place out it is action...

Great for professionals as well as beginners. They have a range of climbing options. They also have a wide range for kids too. Would definitely recommend. You are not likely to spend more than a couple of hours unless you have long breaks inbetween. It can get tiring. Wear appropriate shoes, they do make a difference.

This is a great place to have fun climbing. The staff is very friendly and there are climbs for all skill and fitness levels. The kids love it and it is an excellent place to have them work out the sugar from a birthday cake. My kids ask me to go there often and they always come back home happy.

Celebrated by daughters 10th birthday - good venue upstairs to hire a table for a birthday celebration. It was pretty cheap to hire for a few hours. We were able to bring our own food so we just ordered pizzas. They had a few birthdays on that day so they staggered them which was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You do need to take your own stuff to set up for birthday party. Coffee was great too!! Toilets are pretty clean too! We all had a great time! thank you extreme! Highly recommend them!

11 year old daughter had a brilliant time experiencing the different climbing walls..her first time here and she was really impressed. Lots of different climbing walls made for every climb a different experience. Lots of fun and also great for fitness. Price is reasonable, and definitely recommend this activity. My daughter would be happy to return. The free water was a lovely touch.

Great place to host a kids party! Very affordable. Awesome space - we had the very top floor to ourselves. BYO food and party set up so it's nice and easy. All the kids had a great time. Staff were great too!

The staff are all so friendly and ready to help. New climbs all the time means you never get bored but they give you long enough to master those tricky climbs. Did my lead course here and totally recommend it, full instruction and safety is important. I'm very much a regular here.

Multiple climbing walls for the kids of varying degrees, we took kids from 5 yrs up. Other side had adults only climbing walls, a very cool place to wear some energy off the kids. Reasonably priced too.

Good place for families to either take their kids climbing or even climb with their kids. Loved this place for the kids and even had a few birthdays here. Can have the 2nd level to your self for birthdays or functions and have good toilet facilities and awesome staff. Can purchase food when hungry but only snacks. This is also a great place to get your kids confidence up and would highly recommend this place to everyone. Located in Glen Eden, West Auckland on Waikaukau Road.

What a great experience! A climbing centre that has a great combination of features. Kids climbing and parties down one end and at the other a fabulous series of climbing walls. A great variety of climbs for all levels that are kept fresh and interesting by regular resetting. I started as a complete novice and the climbing education that is available has been invaluable. My daughter and I have an exciting time progressing our skills as climbers in a safe and professionally run environment. Its fun too!

Fantastic venue. Excellent staff and very dedicated coaches who teach the Hoppers classes. Darrin is an excellent proprietor who gives endless time and support to junior climbers and the local community. A fabulous place to have birthday parties or spend a weekend keeping fit as a family. Had an amazing time at Vertical Adventures with my nephew. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful (especially for someone who hasn't tried rock climbing in a very long time!) Even with school holidays, there weren't long wait times for the courses and we managed to get through a few. Ireally enjoyed the themed courses - the time and effort put into each course is obvious. We also went to see the Lego Star Wars exhibit up the top as there is a fundraiser running for Starship. It was so cool to see all the different models! I will definitely be back again.

The opportunity to get children active these days with the modern age of inactivity and screen time excesses is certainly an issue that impacts today's society. Here is a facility that offered a supported safe environment where children are given the opportunity to get active and push or challenge themselves into achieving things not done in daily life such as conquering heights. The staff member did a great job in helping the children orientate to the facility and it was a great experience. Highly recommended which is why 5 star is given without hesitation.

Awesome place to spend an hour or four. If you have kids, the kids climbing wall is excellent, as you don't need anyone to belay them (great place for kids birthday parties too). The kids climbing wall is also good for people (adults) that don't have anyone to belay you; there are several climbs that are very challenging. If you do have a climbing partner, the adult area has many challenges to tackle. There is also a bouldering area, that is very tricky, and an awesome spot on the top floor with Star Wars lego and other Star Wars memorabilia to look at. All the people that work there are very knowledgable and extremely nice and helpful. Highly recommend.

A seemingly well run and organized gym, with a good sized sport climbing area that is entirely separate from the kids/recreational climbing area. The rates are good and the people are really friendly. This will very likely be my regular gym.

I've been over a dozen times. I've been to all the climbing gyms around Auckland and this one is the one I feel most at home. I mostly deal with Zoe. She is approachable, knowledgeable and humours my inane questions. She checks up on everyone when she's not too busy and generates a welcoming environment. She is an angel! I normally go in the evenings after work and tend to find the customers at this time are friendly, too. There's definitely things to learn just by watching and talking to other climbers.

Half the size of the other climbing centre in Auckland, however, the children's area is seperated and the climbs are updated more frequently. The staff is also top notch. I also find the frequent climbers to be friendlier. A lot of alsos and a lot of fun.

Friendly and helpful team, and they put up new routes of a wide range of grades pretty often - there's usually a few new climbs in my range to try at least every couple of weeks. Cheers Vertical Adventures :) it would be cool if there were some easier-than-V0 bouldering routes in the boulder cave for the plebeians like myself!

Great kids area with auto belay systems. Lots of nice adult sized walls with traditional belay and a couple of bouldering sections. And partner belay through carabiners for the hard core types. Great gym on the kids side, but I love bloudering and although there are always difficult challenges to find and try, there isn't much there and I'd love more bouldering space.

When I get to the top I can, for a moment, truly believe that I am very very tall. Then, like a flash, I can return to the earth and pretend I am a normal human. When I take a tumble off the bouldering wall onto the mats I can pretend I am very very small In a sense it is much like being in an Alice in Wonderland novel except you get better muscle tone and don't get to talk as openly to animals.

(Translated) I think it's a perfect room for kids and climbers, however I don't recommend coming here for the boulder. The boulder area is quite small, the tracks are hard to read and the carpets are old and don't really cushion. I find this a shame because by renewing the carpets and by better marking the block tracks this could be an advantage of this room.
