Barre Base Dunedin offers an inclusive and very community driven space for people of all fitness levels. For me personally, I have found this style of exercise very transformative for my body as it targets the 'hard to reach' muscles, that as a female - I endeavour to tone & tighten.
Rosa & her wonderful teachers are the perfect combination of 'hands on & hands off' allowing you the autonomy to try things for yourself, while ensuring you are looking after your joints and body.
While their classes are low impact; I always notice a burn and see results within weeks.
It's the perfect class to add into my daily routine as I am a runner and need to be conscious that I am still giving my muscles the opportunity to grow and evolve.
The stretch classes on offer at Barre are some of the best - my favourite's are the Sunday Self Care and Yoga Barre which allow me the space to really slow down from the hustle & bustle of corporate life and focus on looking after myself.
Rosa has also supported a number of CSR activities across Dunedin - which really encourages me to continually return to Barre. Its fantastic to see them involved in initiatives such as Dunedin Beach cleans and being a leading sponsor for these.
As a current Auckland resident; I make sure to always visit Barre when I'm in Dunedin as the studio offers a very special and zen space for me to relax into a work out. I'm yet to find somewhere that offers such incredible value and quality anywhere else here, in Dunedin.

I love all the classes and it has been a life saver for me while I have been travelling around the world and having babies! Being able to do the classes in my own living room at a time that suits has been awesome. The classes allow you to work hard in such a functional and holistic way!

The atmosphere at the studio is so great, and the workouts are amazing! There's heaps of class variations to choose from so there's something for everyone, and the instructors always explain things really well and emphasis that you can go at your own pace

Rosa has created a bank of bite-sized sessions that can be accessed whenever 'you' have the time and from wherever 'you' are. All you need is yourself, a chair and some space.
The workouts are delivered in the most professional yet personable way and while each video certainly packs a punch, the sequences are noticeably thoughtful and clear.
It's a luxury having such effective and safe strength and flexibility work at my fingertips. I couldn't recommend more.

Barre Base is a very special place. The studio is light and beautiful. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. I particularly like the way that instructions are always given as to how to avoid injuries. The teachers achieve the delicate balance of encouraging us to push ourselves while at the same time always listening to our body and only doing as much as feels right. I finished my first class a bit of a wobbly wreck as I had been away from exercise of that sort for a long time. Thankfully I kept going and have made huge progress in developing strength and stamina. I used to drag myself to a gym out of a sense of duty. Barre Base is totally different. I love going and hate to miss a class. The atmosphere is friendly and personal and I feel cared for there. Being older (61), I was a bit hesitant about going along but there are all different ages there and it feels like everyone fits in. There are many different styles of class to suit different levels of fitness and interest and within each style there is lots of variety so that no two classes are the same. Numbers are limited in each session to avoid overcrowding and the booking system is superb and very easy to navigate. Totally recommend. Can't fault the place!

I was really nervous to start Barre Base classes and put it off for ages as I don't come from a dancing background/am not the most coordinated. All I can say is I wish I started sooner because where has Barre Base been all my life?! I love the energy of the teachers, that you don't have to come from a dance background, that it challenges you physically and mentally each time and is a great release. Barre is something I really look forward to in my days and I highly recommend it to anyone!!

I am new to Barre Base and am in love with it!
The teachers are wonderful with their encouragement and explanation of which muscles to be engaging through each movement. After recovering from a few injuries I love the accepting environment to work at your own level with no pressure to push yourself unless you want to! I leave each class invigorated and happy ♡

Oh, where to start. I'm not one to usually like to exercise - yet I can't wait to go to Barre Base class every week. I love the environment, the music, the instructor, and how every position targets specific muscles of my body. I end up exhausted and happy at the same time. Highly recommend it.

As someone who does not usually enjoy exercise, I was so pleasantly surprised that I was feeling excited to join Barre Base's classes. The teachers are fabulous and there is a lovely variety of classes to keep you interested. I love that the classes can be tough enough to give you a good workout, but not too tough to get through. The first week left my muscles feeling a little sore, but I feel much stronger after only a month of joining. I highly recommend these classes!
