Next Step Gym go above and beyond to make sure their clients succeed in achieving their personal goals. The team are always friendly and make the gym a great place to be. They are always ready to help when they are needed. I can't speak highly enough of Next Step Gym and their team.

I have been a member of the gym for 12 months and have attended mostly up to to 4 sessions a week.
I discovered Next Step at a presentation given by Aaron and Brennan at a Prostate support group meeting.
Having tried 3 gyms before I have found myself very comfortable and supported. I’m not surrounded by Narcissistic men and women, mostly men, I’m supported when needed and everyone at the gym is on their own journey. There is a lot of pain and struggle I see every day but in it there is humour and a sense of belonging.
This is not a recommendation just a fact that to achieve goals hard work is involved and here at Next Step you see it in abundance and you feel it is achievable

Super friendly atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble, tonnes of encouragement without pressure, good feel vibe radiates around the gym through their members and the trainers.
The Physiologists are always on hand but not in your face. Well worth looking into, best gym!

This place and staff are fantastic!! Always happy to help. Whether you want rehab or bulk/tone up these dudes are true professionals. Would highly recommend you try this gym.

It was a 5 star when I was there 2 years ago. Can't see it would have changed. Still, owned by the "boys". and they are tops. Help people recover after injury. Spinal injuries in wheelchairs get moving again. Myself with brittle bones [osteo-genesis imperfecta & cerebral palsy Displegica}was a new challenge. Ended up in hospital two weeks after starting and never got chance to finish my programme. They are well qualified and look at the "bigger picture" I should say it's not a program, its a life changing experience for the better. Can't ask for more than that.

Four years ago I suffered a spinal injury and was told by specialists I would never walk again & to except the wheelchair was now my life! Something I refused to except. The fighter in me came into play and I started my journey forward. For awhile I struggled along with help from physio here and there. I had never been at all interested in joining a gym. Then last year I was introduced to NextStep. They have been absolutely amazing in their support, encouragement & acceptance not only of me but everyone who uses the gym. NextStep is more like a big family, I love going, not only for my work outs but to catch up with the friends I have been blessed to meet. The staff are all very professional & used too working with all differing types & stages of disability. NextStep is a safe & encouraging environment for anyone struggling to find a place where all are welcomed and accepted for who they are. I'm always happy to get to tell people about NextStep & encourage them to come & see for themselves. NEXTSTEP really is to me & others exactly that, the Next Step of many in our journey forward.

Initially our daughter who lives in Singapore signed me up to receive six weeks of Personal Training Sessions with the Managing Director and Exercise Physiologist , Aaron Balsom , of Next Step Exercise and Recovery Centre. My daughter realised that Next Step exercises may help my particular immobility issues caused by a rare autoimmune Neurological Chronic illness .
I met Aaron who was extremely welcoming and immediately put me at ease . We worked through gradually following a full assessment, some exercises are designed to strengthen my legs and mobility , build confidence and strengthen my core strength . Aaron is experienced gym instructor / facilitator and has completed various relevant courses to assist the needs of customers with many different exercise needs .
The facility where Next Step is located, is designed to be an easy access area , with equipment suitable for different types of customers, of which some need specialised assessment of their particular disability and circumstances and needs . The environment is open and welcoming . The lounge offers a comfortable environment to sit and chat, have lunch or a light snack . The staff use the lounge as well as the customers
and they are always available to chat to , offer advice , help with equipment and facilitate exercise regime’s .
The atmosphere of the centre embraces everyone attending . The customers all talk to and encourage and support each other . It is like being part of a caring family . I can not recommend this centre more highly.

My brother Ben has been an active Next Step member for around 4 years, to say he loves it is an understatement, he really does love it! He has made some awesome very cool friends who are very encouraging to each other. They meet for coffee groups regularly and just hang out which is awesome for Ben as he is a very social person. The staff really know their stuff and look after him very well. They have devised a training programme specifically tailored just for Ben and his support worker Steve, and they update and change that programme regularly so neither of them get bored. I know they both love going and will both be members for a long time to come, going to Next Step is a very important, integral part of their day.

Great gym. Excellent helpful staff. Feel fortunate to be able to go to Next Step Gym as it is the only one of it's kind that caters for people with disabilities.

I like this place because I have a number of equipment to choose from and I can 'chop' and 'change' these every so often to have a bit of variety in exercises. There's staff floating around that you can talk to or you can go up to talk to them about a problem with your workout Overall, it a good gym environment to be in.

Wonderful gym and wonderful staff. Very relaxed atmosphere with no judging like other gyms. You dont need to be disabled to join. A great gym for ladies who dont feel like they fit into other gyms. Give them a go you wont be disappointed.

Outstanding commitment to provide quality service to a market that normally gets forgotten. Cutting Edge technology and dedicated knowledgeable staff is the reason that NextStep New Zealand is the country's premiere leader in providing health, fitness and recovery to a wide range of health conditions, injuries and mobility issues. - Stacey Roche, 42 year old with cerebral palsy.

Great service all round Arron and his team are terrific at helping out people with disabilities and making them feel good about themselves I think it also gives those with a disability a real sense of pride in achieving the goals they have set and a place to go where others have problems and seeing the positive way they go about their lives Kerry Murphy on behalf of Glen Murphy

I’ve been a member of next step New Zealand for a few years now, I needed to find somewhere to carry on my rehab after leaving hospital, the staff here are very knowledgeable and are always investigating and up skilling on the latest rehab techniques the members can benefit from, I would fully recommend this gym as a disabled person in a wheelchair I found the modified gym equipment so much easier to use than the stuff I was trying to use at a regular gym, I have no hesitation in recommending next step to anyone looking for a gym
K.
