B. M.What a fantastic event this is. Well run and full of enthusiastic runners. The 5k course runs alongside the Manawatu River on the mainly flat and sealed pathway. Each runner receives a time and is photographed. Results and photos are published quickly and all this is free thanks to a system of volunteers who help out each week.
The runners range from elite runners to walkers and include wheelchair athletes. A number of kids run the event and are given special encouragement with a certificate after a number of runs. A feature of the run are the number of baby buggy mums and dads participating.
Join the parkrun every Saturday at 8 am starting at the Fitzherbert Bridge.
