My son started Karate late last year, he was welcomed and incourged straight away to give it a go. The training from Sensi Lizelle is well thought out, structured and balanced. A good mixture of students from many backgrounds and age groups makes for a good training environment. Highly recommend.

Hello everyone,
I just have started my Karate journey with JKA Timaru since a couple of weeks. Since day 1, I learn about the discipline, energy, focus and respect you have for everyone. No matter how tired I am after work, I look forward to my class. Highly recommended. Oss

My wife and I have been training with Sensei Liselle for over 2 years now and I must say that our karate has improved 100 fold from what it was. Sensei Lizelle is meticulous about the Shotokan style and the fact that karate is a martial art, getting it correct is of utmost importance.
I must say that it is both an honour and a privilege to be trained by a 5th dan Sensei who is absolutely passionate about the sport, and is second in New Zealand only to our chief instructor, Karl Sensei up in Auckland. Sensei Lizelle works fantastically with all ages from little kids aged five or six, up to adults aged alot, like myself.
We are also very fortunate to have outside instructors come and train us during the year, Sensei Karl, 6th dan, comes down from Auckland several times a year, and we get 6 to 7 hours of training in over a weekend. I have also been to 4 seminars/training sessions with Naka Sensei from Japan who is a 7th dan and is the chief technical instructor for JKA.
All of this possible through the efforts of Sensei Lizelle.
I look forward to every minute in the dojo.

My girls started at 4 and a half and they love it. My oldest is 8 and she has gained her orange belt already. Great atmosphere, awesome sensei's.
