It was much mote neat and nice place than we initially expected. I visited as part of a bigger group and it looks like everyone enjoyed the stay.

Our school had a wonderful time at El Rancho. The staff are so friendly and helpful and all the activities were just right for our students. I can't wait to bring future students back to El Rancho so they can get the same experience that my class has got this year.

A great few days spent at El Rancho with the Praxis Wellington students. Thanks for taking us at short notice and looking after us so well.

Our Friendship Force National Gathering took place over 4 days at El Rancho, with 80+ participants from all over NZ, most of whom stayed in the accommodation at the Elm Centre with others taking advantage of the caravan park. This is an excellent facility for conference-type events, with everything we could possibly have needed. The accommodation is clean and well equipped, and being able to all stay together in one facility was a real bonus. There are two good size meeting rooms which worked really well for both our business-type sessions and our party on the final night. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and our members all commented on what a great facility this is. We will definitely use them again!

Took 33 children to camp, it was a great experience for them. The activities were well run and had a good element of challenge for the children. The activity they enjoyed the most was raft building. The cabins were very small needed a bit more room for bags. Service and food was very good.

Excellent beautiful surroundings good roomy accomodations plenty for kids to do ,walks to beach cafe's.couldnt wish for more

Third time we had our Annual church camp at El Rancho. So many space and peaceful.

A great place for a School camp with a variety of activities for the students to participate in - both self led and instructor led. Food was provided which was enjoyed by all students. Own accommodation, dining hall and recreation centre which meant we saw the other schools there in passing, but we did not need to use the same facilities at the same time. Friendly welcome by the staff.

Great facilities, awesome food, welcoming staff who make our experience easy and enjoyable. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Had a spot of extremely rainy weather yesterday which would have affected our planned birthday party for our daughter. Stopped by the office and asked if they have any indoor facilities available, and they could accommodate us: prices were affordable, and service was great! Was able to save the party, all while it was storming outside. Thanks so much for the help, great facilities for events and camping!

What An amazing experience we had as a youth group. We stayed at the pinewood complex weekend just gone with plenty of toilets/ showers some grass areas for down time. What great service we received from Sonya who dealt with our bookings, Mary who we were happily greeted by on our visit to the place and lastly the man himself Austin who was on call 24/7 helping us with our enquires amazing people! We had plenty of activities such as archery, air rifle, swimming, bon fire u name it.

It was very well set out each unit had 4 shared rooms, a kitchenette and a lounge area so there was plenty of space and also there were two toilets and showers available in each unit. There were also spoaces to sit outside. You could also get to the river if you wanted to go for a walk.

Our church family of 80+ booked the Pinewood Complex that included the Rata, Rimu Cabins, Villas, Studios and Family flats. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together. The facilities were in good working condition. The accommodation were as expected and well maintained. We were impressed by our Camp contact during our stay. Troy was responsive to our messages throughout the weekend and very helpful. We would look to stay again.

We had to change our plans due to Covid, and they were super flexible and really helped to make our back up conference a huge success. I have always had a great experience working with them and am looking forward to working with them again.

Really enjoyed the stay. I was in the camping area and it had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable visit. Love the surroundings and amount of activities. A very special place.

Fantastic camp site! We were kindly awarded a free stay at the family villas for the weekend and we really enjoyed our time there. This is our new yearly holiday spot, less than an hour from Wellington! Thank you El Rancho team, God bless

Great and fantastic camp site. Driving distance from Wellington. Plenty of facilities available on site for both young and old. There’s even a water slide for kids to have fun with! Family Elm units are really good. The bonfire was an extra bonus to enjoy 😊 Thank You

Enjoy our young couples retreat at EL Rancho from Conference of Samoan Adventist Church. Thank you to Mary and Sonya who were helpful with our staying. Will booked very soon for next year.

One of the best camp sites that I have been to across the country(and I have been to a few). We held our Fata Meafou family reunion there between the Christmas and NY period and it was such and amazing venue. Great place for family reunions. The Elm cabins were amazing with great facilities. There is ample onsite activities that can keep any child occupied during your stay. There was 100+ of our family that stayed for 4 nights and our children loved it. We had our food catered for and the food was AWESOME, 3 meals a day. Very simple menus but very filling with lots of leftovers. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone or family looking at staying here. The staff and volunteers were a great help as well. Our host Austin was the man!

El Rancho is a little village. Tons of areas and facilities; kitchen, powered and unpowered camping sites, cabins, long term sites, group hall rooms, close to waikanae beach and restaurants and four square. Its pretty great.

Stayed 3 days in the elm lodge area with Friendship Force.Great accommodation,Spotlessly clean and the staff could not do enough.The Elm dining food was very good.We had a wonderful conference thank you

El Rancho is a beautiful environment for a weekend away! The beach, river and great food spots are a bike or walk away. Their facilities are ample and in great condition, suitable for large and small groups. There are many spaces to explore or relax in, making it a very safe and fun environment. Highly recommend a visit!!

It is a good choice depending on what you are looking for: if you want to stay with your kids for some exploring, it seems to be a good choice. If you are staying for one night on a way back from/to Wellington, it is ok. The facilities are a little older but clean. The area around offers a nice walk to the beach but not much more. I personally wouldn’t recommend it for staying more than one night if you don’t have kids.

We camped here whilst hiking on the TA Trail. Tent sites are nice enough, but the kitchen is not really set up and equipped for through hikers, with a lack of crockery and utensils. The site is mainly geared up for groups and children's holiday camps. Sending a cleaning team of students into the kitchen and toilet block at breakfast time was never going to work.

Great place to stay in motorhome. Close to river and beach and the wonderful Kapiti coast cycle way. Schools sometimes stay. Huge grounds

I love this place, the space, beauty and nature. I love the refreshing river; the empathetic horses and wildlife. The walk to the beach is therapeutic and the view exceptional. The facilities and staff make you feel at home.

What a stunning place! Every time I've been to El Rancho I've felt safe and uplifted and I've connected with people and God. Such a great place to holiday with family, serve at a kids camp, hold a conference, event, or camp.

What more could you ask for, archery, rock climbing, water slides, playground, pool and air rifles! Ten year old dream party one stop shop. Just dreamy. Cheers El Rancho 😊

Friendly hosts, clean facility (meeting rooms, lodges with bedding provided) and well maintained place with lots of things to do (a field for sports, swimming pool, beach access).

Wonderful Staff, Good amenities. Very large complex but didnt get to explore due to extreem weather. Motòrhome area very sheltered.

Excellent facilities although the number of and access to the disabled toilets/shower areas could be considered difficult.

Such a fun place to take our youth group, lots of activities and fun things to do. We will be back again next year!

Stayed here a while ago in the Elm complex with a group of about 70 people. Very nice stay and suited the group perfectly. Others in the group are very keen to come back in the future

Tent site was great..ground was soft..free rabbit display..overall a nice lovely place with a ranch feel to it..

We attended an event organised and run by El Rancho staff. It was superb. Nice facilities, great materials supplied, staff were friendly and flexible for towards our requests. The food was exquisite. The weather stopped us from trying horses, water slide, geocaching etc, but we were still very happy.

Lovely clean facilities, big outdoor pool and hot showers. Great stopover before heading into Wellington for the interislander! 😊

El Rancho is such a peaceful place. We came here with a group of 400 people and it was absolutely breath taking. I fell in love with it straight away.

What an amazing place! So much to do and the staff are wonderful people. Enjoyed the climbing wall and archery.

We recently sttended the Marriage Retreat event hosted and organised by El Rancho. It was a fantastic weekend The retreat itself was organised to an incrredible standard, with a lot of attention to detail and brilliant content. The accommodation was very comfortable. The food was excellent. We thoroughly recommend this event and also El Rancho itself. The spacious and peaceful grounds of El Rancho make for a great place to unwind and take some time out from the hustle and bustle of life.
