I'm on my fourth trip with Aspiring Guides, and I wouldn't consider going elsewhere. They offer a great selection of guides, super flexible and accommodating approach to organizing climbs, and cater to every skill level (even absolute beginners). The team (Carla is the absolute best) are very friendly, and make you feel at home. I cant wait to go back :)

Brilliant Gillespie-Rabbit guided trip in Mt Aspiring National Park over the New Year. The logistics managed by Aspiring Guides was superb... enabling big adventures with mainly fresh and delicious food, without huge heavy packs. We had a small group with lots of laughs. Despite our wide experience we all learned heaps from our talented and chilled guide, Adam. His local knowledge and experience is superb especially around river-crossings, navigation and delicious cooking :). Thanks team!

Inspired and coached by Pat, the two of us engaged Aspiring Guides, Will and James, to help us attempt Mt Aspiring. Challenged by a very short weather window, we summited in the most beautiful conditions. What an absolute epic adventure. Definitely in my top 5! Every bit of training was helpful. This is not a casual trip. We will be back for more. Will and James are both experts and gentlemen. A very big thanks.

I had a fantastic experience with Aspiring Guides, tackling the Gillespie Pass & Rabbit Pass route. While I have hiked extensively before, I was glad I chose to go guided for this trip. Our guide, Adam, was very confidence inspiring and generous with his knowledge. Plus he was a great chef! I was also fortunate that my trip companions were like minded people and we had a wonderful time together. I'll definitely be back to do more trips with Aspiring Guides.

Completed the Seven Day Mountaineering Skills course up at Tasman Saddle Hut with Whitney as the guide. Great FOOD, great company, and learned so many new skills for my tool belt in the mountains. Couldn't have asked for a more knowledgable and excellent guide, he gave us tools to problem solve, rather than lectures that are easily forgotten. I ate better in that hut than I have in months.

I did the week-long mountain technical skills course. Our guide had a lot of knowledge and was willing to share it which was awesome.

I've been taking courses and climbing peaks with Aspiring Guides for over ten years, including: - Summiting Mt Aspiring - Ice climbing on the glaciers - Rock climbing around Queenstown and Wanaka - Gran Paradiso in the Italian Alps - Climbing around Plateau, Pioneer and other NZ huts - Summiting Mt Elbrus in Russia Obviously, I think they're great! On this trip, Carla in head office dealt with pulling everything together, which was changing every day with changes to border control. I was guided by Roy, who was terrific. We were lucky enough to have another guide, Bea, join in the trip for a couple of days. All round, very happy, and I will be calling again.

We did a 6-day trek in Aspiring National Park. The itinerary was off the beaten path and away from the crowds. Our guide did a fantastic job catering to the goals of our small group and of making it a challenging, yet enjoyable experience. Everything was very well organized from start to finish. I would definitely do another trip with Aspiring Guides.

Walked the upper Wilkins and Gillespie pass in Mount Aspiring National Park as part of a group of 3 men who wished they had taken up back country walking as younger men! We were guided by Pat Gray. We were lucky with weather and had an epic 6 days of walking in a special part of the world. Our guide Pat was very well organised and knowledgeable and we were confident we were always in safe hands - many thanks Pat you are an outstanding young man! Aspiring guides have the walking experience maximised for enjoyment with “stashs” along the way to minimise pack weight. The backcountry huts we stayed in are well appointed and the Siberia hut in particular has a stunning location and epic views. Backcountry walkers are a fun bunch, and the evenings are a great opportunity to sharpen card playing skillls. The helicopter flight in and jet boat ride out at beginning and end of our walk were icing on the cake! Many thanks to Pat and Aspiring guides for a wonderful adventure.

Great people who really love what they do. I've used them for three climbing trips and their guides are fantastic. Have always felt safe and have learnt so much. Very clever at adapting plans for challenging weather or conditions!

Aspiring is a first rate company. Everyone was extremely helpful in every way. Will is a skilled mountaineer, personable, and a great cook. You could not have asked for more! What a great experience.

Had a stellar time and learnt a lot on our 7 day mountaineering skills course! Our guide (Dan) was excellent at teaching us the basics of moving around in an alpine environment, and very patiently explaining how and why things are done. His enthusiasm, technical knowledge and chat made for an epic week! Having had no prior alpine experience, this course was run at a good pace and progressively built on skills as the week went on. Thank you to the team at Aspiring Guides for all the work organising our trip, and planning and replanning to ensure that the weather didn’t stop us from safely achieving everything we set out to do!

Can’t recommend aspiring guides enough. Had Tom as a guide for a 5 day glacier skitouring course at mount cook which was just epic! Would book another trip anytime!

I did the Gillespie Pass walk and it was incredible! It was a challenge but that challenge was doable because of how well supported we were by Aspiring Guides from the beginning to the end. The pre-walk support was exceptional - information, follow-up emails, website info about the walk, what to pack, how to prepare. The walk was amazing! Not easy, but the challenge was made so much easier by Ross, our patient, kind and encouraging guide. We were also very well fed (even though I am Coeliac this was managed easily by Ross). It was an inspiring, challenging and beautiful walk, I highly recommend it. Thank You!

Had the best time with Aspiring Guides on a 4 Day Splitboarding course. The company and the guide (tom) were both amazing, professional, really encouraging, the food and facilities were beyond what I expected. Give it a crack, you won't be disappointed.

I did the 1.5 days Avalanche Awareness Course. It was pretty impressive how it opened my eyes and gave me very important basic knowledge how to read mountains, see potential dangers, how to plan backcountry trip, do avalanche rescue and other things that can help in my future backcountry tips.

Did the 1.5 day Avalanche course with Tim and 4 others. Tim took us up Snow farm due to high winds and we got everything done. The avalanche rescue simulations made me feel confident about using the equipment in an avalanche scenario.

Great team at Aspiring guides, superb communication and a commitment to provide challenges and fun in some of the most beautiful terrain you wil ever see. Highly recommended.

Perfect course was run for avalanche awareness. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Couldn't recommend enough if you are looking at doing any ski related touring activities or courses around the Wanaka region. Thanks again
