The portions are quite large, but the burgers seem like the patties sold in countdown. They have a 2 for 1 deal on Tuesdays and that's the only time their burgers might be worth the money.

Can only comment on the food. Got a Velvet Lady burger. Big portion, great sauces, but stringy chicken breast, not even in one piece. Hate it when there are inedible pieces in meat.

Went there on a public holiday, and they were about to close but the guys there let us eat inside (and that was very kind of them). I ordered a mini animal right which was delicious but left an after taste of oil in my mouth, that is why it is a 4-star review.

Went to Valvet burger today. Ordered a OQ beef burger . The lady at the counter was quite attentive on taking my order . And when I ordered, I asked roughly how long the burger will take , she said about 10- 15mins . I quietly waiting in the restaurant and as promised the burger came within the time frame . As I was half way through , the I realized that the burger was quite raw on the inside . I didn't want to make a fuss , I picked out all the raw bits of the pattie and put them on the plate . And continued to finish my burger .I normally have medium rare steak so I don't mind a bit of rawness . But one side of the pattie on the raw side . I finished the burger it did taste quite nice . I put all the raw bits on the plate , there were about 6-7 small pieces of raw meat that I picked out and left on the plate . One of the lady staff asked if I was finished , so she can take my plate . I said yes . I then saw her looking quite carefully to see what the red pieces of meat were that I left on the plate as she took my plate and turned around to take it too the kitchen . But she didn't ask me anything . She didn't ask me how was my meal and if everything was alright etc , even when she saw what was left on the plate . The service could be more improved . Would I got back , I would say yes , I always give a place a 2nd chance . The burger did taste good . The service was ok , could of been better . A customers feedback Is really important , they should ask all customers how the meal went and if everything was ok . Because if you don't ask , the customer won't be able to tell you . It was only a small issue , that could of been easily dealt with if the staff had asked at the time .

Ordered Big Brown. Didn’t like the meat. Asked for just mayo instead of Aioli, but got some strange sauce that I didn’t like. Maybe it’s a personal opinion, but I won’t order here again, sorry.

Dang. FIRST DECENT SIZED BURGER I'VE HAD IN CBD AKL. The meat idk what they put in it is so nice😍, burger bun toasted to perfection or it wasn't toasted but i love it just the way it is! The veges inside was real good too. Loved it 5 stars recommend😊 Will be updated. $10.90 for the price still little expensive but i guess cbd rent high? I left it for like a day in my bag and it didnt turn soggy or anything?? Cooool. 2nd review, Sauce and every put together was gorgeous as always. The burger bun was cold but it's fine ig.

Really nice burgers. It’s not often you get anything other than salad and tomato as normal veggies in your burgers so I personally loved getting cucumber. We tried all 3 kind of fries and everything was really nice. Portions are pretty big too. Thanks for such a nice takeaway

Tasty burger! I have ordered the 'Big Burger' with fries on the side, the burger itself looked and tasted really good with all the toppings. 4 Stars from me - was a bit overpriced for what i got in my opinion. 16 NZD for the hamburger alone (or as written: 15.90) + 5.5 NZD for a below-average fries. Still, it was a good experience!

Truth be told, when it comes to flavour wise my friends have asked me if my tastebuds are actually functional; I’m just not picky at all and generally love everything!! These burgers were no exception. My friend and I got the velvet lady; the buns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside (as were the fatties fries; the skinnies fries are like maccas fries so go fatties tbh); the chicken was juicy and cooked well, the sauces esp the aioli was omfg, and the veggies were fresh and crisp asf!!! Kinda wish they had smaller buns just so that the ratio was right but service and food was 100%!!

Really delicious burgers and wide range to choose from. Definitely prefer the shoestring fried over the thicker cut ones. Loved the wall decor and the wooden interior. Great place to get some lunch with friends.

Ordered two burgers online and pickup time said to expect at 5:30. Did not receive order until 5:45. Food was delicious when arrived. Perhaps computer system needs to change to manage expectations more true to time as my partner had somewhere to be and he was late. Clean dining area. Burger prices are ok and good size. The meat patties appear to be mass produced and have the look and texture of plant patties when they are not... Not very tasty

Ok I’m not sure what the deal is but I almost felt ripped of when I ordered a combo with my burger and didn’t get my drink till I had to ask for it as I was leaving not cool however the service was great food was awesome but the condiments needed to be regularly topped up not just the water jugs hot sauce also that’s why I’m particularly recommending this place food is good though

I had always heard they were one of the top burger chains, but ehh idk on this first visit I haven't missed too much. Ordered the chicken burger of the month, but only after I paid did they tell me that the specific chicken breading was out, and the replacement crumb breading tasted too burnt to me. They brought out the wrong sized fries at first and the replacement "fatties" were all well over-fried. They were at least very forgiving and speedy about running stuff out, yet having the combo meal itself not be right twice has put a big damper on the experience. Expect to spend $15-25 for food and way more for beer. They do have 2 beers on tap, but otherwise lots of the regular bottles. Plenty of tables and space in back with leather padded seats although some are getting quite worn.

Till now the best burger I got in NZ. I ate the animal rights burger with kumara patty. It was awesome delicious. We ordered online, to save some coins but we were still able to eat in-house. That was an amazing service. We also had a Big Bro Burger an some potatoe hashies. Everything was super fresh and tasty.

I can't fault the burgers here at all. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere inside is nice and they have a 2-for-1 promotion quite frequently. Only problem I have with the place is regarding the outside seating area - it can be quite uncomfortable as you're very close to passersby.

I will rate this 5 Stars but I will also say this: The best value for money you will get is if you become a member and get the monthly code they give out. Every month they give out a redeemable code that, when entered online in their ordering system on any Tuesday, will allow you to purchase two burgers for the price of the highest cost burger. This is great value for money and highly recommend it! I've actually been going to this particular Velvet Burger since 2015 and have seen them go from having a larger menu that included other meats (I'd love it if venison could be brought back on the menu but I understand it's not easy) but they have become one of the best burger joints in town for me and my friends! Love it, keep up the great work!

Good venue, very friendly. The buns are nice and large, although the actual burger size compared to the buns was average. Fillings were good, but not very hot. Upsell fries, mayo, go on get a drink and you've spent $25 for a underwhelming burger, but the fries were fresh and hot.

Have been getting the two for one velvet Burger Tuesday deal for about a year and a half now. Is a super good deal. The burgers taste great, I would personally say they one of the best in Auckland and my girlfriend and I have gone around to many Burger places around Auckland. My only issue is every so often getting given a very cold burger, like it has been sitting for a bit. Sometimes they are piping hot, other times they are quite cold which is is disappointing.

Great gluten free buns. And a two for one deal every Tuesday. Sounds pretty good right. Well... It's ok, the burgers can be a bit tasteless depending on who's on in the kitchen. But when they are good, they are talky good. But when they are readily busy, they rush the burgers so come out not that hot.so a bit but and miss, but worth it when they hit.

Decent burger; definitely fancier than Better Burger, for example. Long story short, the burger is good, but I don't think it's worth the price or wait. Personally, I think BurgerFuel is more accessible, have more locations, and make better burgers. Price is similar to BurgerFuel so I see no reason to go to Velvet. Unfortunately wait time was much too long considering the place was only half-full. It wasn't just my order or my being impatient either. Another table was visibly frustrated with the delay in their order and had to approach the kitchen to ask about their food. Big positives wre that staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant atmosphere is very nice.

Juicy and delicious..fries portion too huge. And very good value for money. seating feels congested at peak times. Good news for muslim customers: Beef and chicken is halal..but no clarification if bacon cooked on separate plate.

Relatively pricey compared to their competitors, but on Tuesdays they have a 2 for 1 deal which makes eating here tremendously worth it. The burgers are fresh and tasty, using quality ingredients so that you don't feel guilty eating here. Great service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere with the choice of booths or high tables. I recommend "The Stag" burger but if you're really hungry, go for the mighty "Goneburger". I come here almost every Tuesday because if you're not taking advantage of that 2 for 1 value, you're not living life to the fullest

My Girlfriend and I visited for the first time last night (Sunday) and just wanted to comment on how incredible this place is, the moment we walked in to the moment we left the customer service was brilliant! Spoke to an English guy on the till and he was brilliant - he looked busy but managed to maintained a smile and excellent customer service. The burgers were delicious, I would definitely recommend the Hottie (add bacon too it, it's only natural)! We also loved the variety of different burgers on offer, although the chips were not the best apparently due to a "supply issue with the oil", The choice of dips were perfect. All in all, we loved it and will be back again!

We were told to go here by a friend of a friend in Palmerston North. We liked them so much we actually visited twice in 2 days - don't judge us until you've sampled the goods. On the Thursday my sister had a beefburger and I had a chicken burger. We shared a side of skinnies but we couldn't finish them. On the Friday they do a flat rate of $30 for any 2 burgers, two sides and 3 (I think) dips. This must be the best value meal in NZ never mind Auckland. It's a lot of food for 30 bucks. If you don't try this at least once what are you doing with your life?

What a place! If your in the CBD you got to try Velvet Burger. The range of different burgers will leave you salivating as you try decide what you want. All major meats and even venison burgers are on offer. Staff are very friendly and polite and food is served quickly, just keep in mind their busy so don't expect fast food service times. The food is amazing. You could easily get addicted to it if you aren't careful. Also they serve beer! Not many places offer a beer with your burger, atleast not from my experience (excluding bars) The eating area is large with plenty of seating and bathrooms are kept clean and tidy. Overall a wicked place.

Burgers great ...when you get them :-) I've only been here a couple of times, both at lunch times mid week and both times the wait time to order has been exceptionally slow. I reckon today was at least 10 mins to order with only 1 order person that was in training. the queue was only 5 people long and I spotted three customers give up and walk out. Could have been that the order guy left the till to deliver a backlog of orders but another guy was at the 2nd till mucking about with online orders, ignoring the physical queue. He eventually got the nudge from one of the kitchen crew and I got to order. I almost gave up too but hung in there. The burger was good but the experience pretty ordinary. Not sure the burger good enough to suffer the wait time again!

I fancied a burger and this place looked promising. I was blown away, the service was fan dabby Dooby and that was just for starters. The burger (big brown) was a taste sensation. There was a meat party in my mouth and everyone was invited! And the fact it had a suggested Pairing.. of double brown.. made me Google. Would definitely say to try this place. Hidden gem that is in plain sight.

The ingredients they use are pretty good I reckon. Hard to find another burger joint that sells venison burgers. They also have Moa and its IPA counterpart on tap. There are a variety of different seating arrangements from two to about ten people. The atmosphere is low-lit and kind of tevernish. I quite like it
