I had the Classic burger and fries. The burger was a wonderful smashed burger. The bun tasted fantastically toasted. The fixings were fresh and tasty without overpowering the taste of the patty itself. The patty was a bit on the small side, so next time I’ll probably order a double. The fries had the right amount of crisp, but just a bit too much salt. Also, I didn’t love the taste of the oil used for the fries, but with sauce I probably wouldn’t notice. I’ll definitely be back to make my way through the menu. Gotta catch ‘em all!

Noticed the spot for the first time! The smashed patties, hard to find in NZ lured me in and the framed picture of George Motz sealed the deal; I had to try it. Ordered a double cheese burger, to keep it simple. Milk buns not my preference but good, nicely buttered. Patties, smashed thin, caramelized perfectly. Sauce and gherkins on point. Only downside, the patties were a bit too heavy on the salt, making it the dominant flavour. Would definitely and gladly repeat! One of the best burgers I've had in NZ, and one of the only spots making proper smashed burgers. Kudos!

If only there was an option for 1billion stars! This burger was amazing! Tasted v delicious! The guy there, Pablo was very nice and tolerated the billion questions from my son and had great customer service! Definitely going back another time maybe even try a double patty or something. Definitely rate it! 😀😀

Sorry for the complaint, yesterday I purchased the Bacon burger $18. I asked for no mayo as I have an allergy, when I received my burger it had the mayo mix sauce on it, no big deal, I took it back and the young lady behind the counter was fantastic and apologized profusely. she offered free chips or a drink, I let her know the burger would suffice. I received my burger and when I checked there was no bacon on it. the burger was nice but at $18 for a burger I would be trying to get it right the first time. sorry guys but I would not recommend purely on attention to detail.

We have been looking for a burger similar to In n out in Los Angeles. This place does an amazing burger. So good I ate 2. Highly recommend to everyone.

Great service with easy online ordering and pickup. We tried the classic burger and the vegan burger and a side of onion rings. Great sized burgers, cooked well and good amount of gherkin in the classic burger!

Most amazing burgers in town! Located in Riverside Market in the heart of Chch, it was easy to find, the chefs cook the burgers fresh in front of you, loved it. My new favourite burger joint in Christchurch.

went to black burger for lunch today as i work near riverside. got the waygu cheeseburger. it’s a smash burger, paid 15$ for it. fairly delicious however a bit on the pricy side. staff were helpful and friendly, and it’s nice to see them move to riverside market. all in all, worth a try. will be back for a double cheese burger to give it a try too

Liked the cheeseburger and the jalapeno poppers were surprising good. The fries were slightly thick and not super crisp. Also, the burger was a little overcooked and dry. That being said, everything was fresh, flavourful and the buns were super fluffy. The atmosphere was weird and slightly off but staff was nice enough. Won't be rushing back but I would recommend if your are looking for a new burger place in CHCH.

I am a massive cheeseburger fan so I had to give this place a try. Was a little difficult to find to be honest as it’s tucked away into a brick building entrance in an unusual venue and parking can be difficult in the city. It is also pickup only but least did I know I was about to order the BEST burger I have ever tried. Hands down the best (i’ve also been to Fergburger) The brioche bun was soft and buttery with a nice toast, the melted aged cheese oozed with flavour, and the wagyu beef was irresistibly juicy with a perfect crunch to the edge. Thank you for the mouthwatering experience. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!! (In fact it was so good I ordered again 1 hour later...)

This was one of the most amazing black bean burgers I've ever had. Ordered via DeliverEasy, quick and painless ordering. Delicious burger!! Partner enjoyed his meaty burger too. Thank you, highly recommend. Vegetarian and vegan friendly food available.

Got the Cheese burger, so delicious and full of flavour. Chips were also really good too!

It's pick up only. the burgers were completely soaked in grease, Expensive as hell. Burgers themselves were alright, I won't be going out of my way to ever try it again especially for the price of the burgers. Chips were pretty good though. I liked the seasoning on them.

Delicious burger and friendly staff

Really good burgers with great service! Basic menu but what they do is done well. We were a pretty loud table in a quiet space which was awkward at times because of the casual music and dim lighting but would be different if we weren't in a level 2. Pretty expensive but worth it.
