Finally, after having so many recommendations, we have been there for our dinner. It was a nice cosy place, quite decorative. We tried the Monster Platter with Chilli Chilli Bang Bang and Original Crispy Chicken. The platter was HUGE!!! 3-4 adults would easily share. It was tasty, crispy, authentic Korean chicken, much better than any fast food fried chicken. Crispy outside, and juicy inside with a lot of flavour. We were very happy with the sides as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful with a big smile on her face. The only thing I was disappointed about was the toilet. It was not cleaned enough. This restaurant is in a very convenient location with heaps of car park. Go check it out 👍

Great vibe! Interior is great and lots to look at. I'm impressed. The chicken is fantastic. The portions are huge, ours was nice and hot. Reading other reviews I think some kiwis expecting KFC size coleslaw, just understand these are side dishes, and very tasty too!! Really cool casual place. We will definitely be back.

Best fried chicken ever. On the table, the chilli chilli bang bang, garlic bomb, mustard padak and the original fried chicken. Personal fav = the mustard pa dak. Don't underestimate the size, it's bigger than it looks. If you aren't a big eater, two people per dish..

Monster chicken has the BEST Korean fried chicken in Christchurch, its bursting with flavors. In the pictures is a teriyaki flavor and spicy flavour with kimchi. These only cost $14 at lunch time, such a good deal as they are so filling and yummy! 😊🥰

Monster Chicken is one of my favourite places to grab something to eat. It is exactly what you want when craving some deep fried chicken. A nice selection of flavours to choose from which suits a range of cravings. Your choice of chicken paired with a beer, you cannot go wrong. Definitely recommend to anyone considering going here!

Great food and service, the dragon roll sushi is some of the best Sushi I've had in New Zealand, lots of little sauces on the side with the usual wasabi and soy, proportion of the sushi contents was well done. The smoky pork ribs were sublime, broke off or melted in your mouth, and the spiced sauce and salad base went well together. If you're into spicy food I can recommend the spicy udon noodles and karage chicken - chilli chilli bang bang, all this goes well with cold beer, which was provided via the Asahi and Sapporo on tap along with other choices. Lastly hats off to the only person attending a dozen or more tables, answering the phone and the reception all my herself. She made herself available to all guests and was friendly, energetic and efficient. Would love to be back.

A huge amount of food for one person. It was soooooo good as well and the best of value. The coleslaw was bang on and tasty. This is the best value and best tasting chicken in Christchurch. I went to Monsterchicken at Church corner on 30th Dec for the first time and I totally fell in love with it!! I ordered chili chili bang bang which one Japanese lady recommended me trying and it was really delicious! And the customer service was fantastic. The two Japanese ladies were friendly and sweet even though I couldn’t speak English really well. Thank you so much for such a nice time before the new year. Found this place by accident while craving chicken. I phoned my order in then felt bad walking past the line of people waiting for their orders. I now know why a little hole in the wall is so popular. We got Chilli chilli bang bang & Garlic bomb. It was crispy on outside & juicy on the inside, perfectly cooked & not at all greasy. My only wish is that there was something vegetable-ish on the menu but then fried chicken, rice & pickle is a classic. We will definitely be back!

Parmesan chicken was a bit dry and I'd had enough of it by the end. Although the batter was very good and crispy. Freshly grated parmesan would have been nicer than the dry powder. More sauces and some kimchi would also have helped considering the $18 price. I think I'd choose the $12 lunch bowl, chilli bang bang, garlic bomb or skewers option next time.

Monster Chicken is Awesome so yummy, however this particular restaurant service was quite poor, I turned up at 1.50pm lunch is advertised till 230pm , everybody in there where given chopsticks but me I was given a fork I guess as I'm white.. You could of asked instead of assumed based on my appearance I couldn't use chopsticks, when I asked for chopsticks it was kind of my fault? Another couple of girls came in at 2.00pm ordered and 5 mins latter wanted something else and was refused as the staff are taking a break as they closed at 230.... date Monday 18th March
