Awesome value for money, we ordered a big order for 6 and it was all really nice! We ordered burgers, lamb shanks, fish and other things. We loved it so much we had it twice on our stay in Ahipara. The lamb shanks were a fav and the gravy was yummy. We also stopped one arvo and had real fruit ice creams and they were delish, hubby and kids tried raw fish and all agreed it was really nice. Staff/owners were local and really friendly.

Friendly staff. Super busy but very efficient n helpful. Amazing food. Just what I needed n although they were busy an est time frame was given n accurate. Well done.

Out of Kumara chips, so had wedges and a really good steak burger. Piping hot and too many wedges to eat in one go.

We had a reunion in the far north and ordered Food for 70+ people. They were very accommodating, fast and the food was well liked. Fish is fresh and batter is light and not too greasy. Would highly recommend.

I honestly just had the most delicious Spring Roll in all of my 57 years and the Bacon and Egg burger was perfect... when I bit into it the yolk burst and I got it all over my new Ellesse sweatshirt. 10/10

Delicious. Burgers are great and the fish is cooked perfectly too. The batter is nice and light, not oily.

Not bad. Chips could've been a lill better. The peice of dory I had was nice and juicy. Tartar sauce didn't taste that great. Every else was acceptable however.

Prices are reasonable. Haven't tried there pies not really a pie person. If I order from here i will order the steak and egg burgers and chips, good size burger with all the salads fresh. And chips most times are nice and a decent amount. Can't complain.

Used to love getting crumbed snapper here from the lovely woman who works here. Last time I called a new woman taking orders said they never did crumbed and she is really hoha. Its a shame because otherwise we'd be here heaps.

$30 for and ok portion of fish and chips. Cooked well and hot, fish was processed from frozen stock. Being a sea side fish and chip shop would be nice to see fresh catch of the day on the menu from the Bay of Islands at that price

Been coming here since I can remember. I come home a few times a year and without a doubt I’ll always come to Bidz. BEST fried oysters EVER. Best Burgers, fresh kaimoana, amazing friendly service ALWAYS, and to top it off with a sweet treat, best fried Mars bars 🤤 Hands down there best in the far north. Kia Ora.

Honest Review!! As a local I've tried almost everything on the menu. Prices are a little high but taking into consideration this is a small town safe to say its fair. Quantity on meals such as "bids meals" are on the small side not much value for money. (Maybe just an extra scoop of chips shall safice) Being so close to the Moana its sad to see that almost always the fish of the day is dory! Scollops or crabsticks always taste abit off. Lamb shanks could do with a bit of love. Maybe abit of mash and mixed vege would make the world of difference. Raw fish could do with a little more fish than juice, but always tastes good. Burgers are good. Chips are always good. Ice creams are decent and good value for money. Deep fried bars are delicious. * great range of drinks and lollies. * the location is fantastic for when you don't want to drive all the way to town for a kai. * wait times for food on the off season are genrally great. Summer wait times are a little longer to be expected as its super busy but are reasonable. * staff is a big one for me!! Most staff here can be very rude and unfriendly bad for customer service. A smile goes a long way, or a simple " hello how are you" wont hurt. Its not hard to be kind to people who are supporting your business. I ask the owner to please pull them up for this because it's a regular occurrence not just a one off. Also My orders have been messed up so many times, I've gone back on over 3 different occasions and been giving such an attitude like I'm the bad guy. Anyways thats just my honest opinion. Hope there will be some effective changes made.

This was my first Fish and chips place that my Girlfriend and i visited on our backpacker's trip around NZ. The day we went was right after a solar eclipse and the food like the eclipse was magical. I will never forget the great conversation with the awesome owner Eugene who will always bring to mind good food and good times!!!!!!!!! a must see of the northland

Yum as fish n chips!.. The service could have been better, as we were ignored standing in the shop waiting to place our order, while phone orders we given precedence over us waiting!. So in relation to that it took twice as long for our order to be made & having to wait for it

The food was good. The service on the other hand was not. The people working seemed nice enough they were just under staffed and flustered at the time. Our order was messed up and I went back to remedy the situation. They apologised and then we had to wait a long period of time get our order.
