I.Think this is my favourite chippy in town. I recently made an order and got caught up in town and they had to throw my order away. They made me a new order on the spot even though it was my fault! They're great and super accomodating and will encourage others to get their meals here. Great service and great food too!!
J.They served us pretty quickly, but then again we only ordered a couple scoops of chips. They were well wrapped, but probably under seasoned. The staff were friendly.
L.We have been getting fish n chips from this shop (and the shop formerly known as Alton Street Takeaways) for over 40 years. Best in Nelson. I particularly recommend the potato fritters (flips) as a delicious addition to any meal. So grateful for the effort and dedication!

M.Hey guys I really dont have anything bad to say other than if you are advertised as open please be open, I called twice and drove to see if it was because you were just busy but no, you're all closed. Big waste of time and gas. So please sort this out other wise I might have to find a new regular.

S.Absolutely fantastic! Restaurant quality food at takeaway prices. Really friendly, helpful staff. Heaps of variety, and generous portions. There's even a spot to eat outside on a nice day. We will definitely be back next time we're in Nelson.

A.Well, what can I say! Just had one of the best super savaloy hotdogs. Only 2 other hotdogs have been
as good as this. #1 was around 1990 from a caravan at Nelson airport during a week end fly in. The 2nd was around 2005 at Ruapuna race track, also from a caravan. The secret is to ask the lovely guy at The Fish Stop to double batter it. He did seem a bit bemused about the double batter idea, but it does make for a great “dog”. The batter they make is the best. Thank you!
M.This place is the absolute best. The old staff and new staff are so friendly and very helpful. The food is awesome especially the kumara chips! Would definitely recommend to everyone. I’ve been there a few times and wish I could go there more often (but it’s a bit far...... Australia to New Zealand). Also if your eating there, I definitely suggest eating out on the small deck, very pleasing to look at, good size and comfortable. Thanks guys (especially Jess and Jill)!!

F.Nice fish 'n chips. Mini hot dogs are tasty, so is the fish of the day. Burgers are good too, but maybe with a little too much sauce, making them not so handy to eat. A good address, though.

M.Good little chippy with plenty of variety. I had the $5 fish and chips which was a reasonable quantity that did the job for me but might fall short for people expecting "all you can eat" portions. The only thing that stopped 5* was the high use of salt on my meal.

B.These guys have an awesome range and plenty of fresh product on offer. Most of the time there are excellent staff working to take your order and move it through fast. This place has a real family feel about it and there is a good deal of care put into the food. Well worth trying out.
