C.Good fish with quite good prices. It gets quite busy, last time we went we had to wait for at least 40 minutes! Worth it though! If you do buy sauces, the sizes are very big which means you won't run out.
E.Absolutely the best burgers ever! Seriously. Thee Best. Both my partner and I got burger each and weren't expecting much, like most takeaways, but these were fabulous. Will have to go back next time we are in the area ❤
P.The fish, we chose Groper, was delicious, but we were not impressed with the chips. However, their home made chips may be much better.
A very clean and tidy shop though, so top marks on that!

J.Came here instead of burger fuel and was not disappointed. Burgers were epic sized and reasonably priced, the real deal kiwi burger with beetroot. Chips were crunchy and yum, and fish bites were real hunks of fish. Will be back for sure!!

C.Maclean st fish supply lovely staff. We ordered Fillet 2x large meals... It definitely wasn't dory like I ordered, more like warehou for $18.20 a meal I wasn't very happy with it, but the chips and salad were good. I live out of town... Its been A few years since ordering from these guys i wouldnt order that meal again to say sadly... Maybe better luck nxt time. 🍋 🐠 🐠 ✌️ 🍟 🥫

S.wow, have lived out this way for ages, and this is the first time for fish'n'chips from Maclean's, and must say very impressed with the whole experience.... quick simple order, fast to cook, and result was perfectly cooked fish'n'chips that were great..... everybody in the family very happy with the meal :-)
J.Went here on a Saturday after the market, they were super busy but served up crunchy non greasy fish and chips. I sat up high while waiting and watched the fish n chips hit and bubbling hot oil.
Heard them say they change the oil every second day. Good service and had fish in chips at the beach.

S.I tried kumera chips for the first time I wasnt impressed they were too thin, I think they should have been thick to get the true flavour. The fish was lovely but the genuine paua pattie had no flavour. It's very popular

S.Never had such a thorough experience with placing an order. The vegetarian we had with us was pleased with her options. Fish was cooked to perfection. Burgers were fresh. Chips had crunch but moist in middle. Squid rings were best Iv ever tasted. Definately be back

A.Hot dog I thought came on a stick. This one was wrapped with the kumara chips it was sausage in batter.
Was looking forward to it as I thought, is on a stick with tomato sauce dipped in it. I'd come back get other things in the future I gave this a 3 star because of what I ordered on the day.
P.This is my usual fish 'n' chip on the coast. Unfortunately 2 days in a row (Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th August lunchtime) the chips were very over cooked and tasted burnt. Had to throw most of them away for the 2nd time. They were inedible. Quality control issue maybe.
Edit: Went back for a replacement meal and it was amazing, just the way it should be. I guess they just overcooked my last 2 meals.
D.Tim's place is a great local take out with beautifully cooked fish and a whole burger menu. Burgers are pretty good. Value for money can't be beaten!

E.Been visiting here for over 15 years. It seems to be gradually getting worse over the years unfortunately. Didn't like the new menu focusing on burgers, taking away from the seafood focus when every other place in town does burgers! Chips I got were brown/old, weren't too tasty. Such a shame to see this for a Paraparaumu icon!
J.We are on vacation from Cali, staying in Paraparaumu Beach, just ordered takeaway fish and chips and burgers from Maclean. The fish was oozing with grease, smelled off ,..like not quite cooked enough or old fish. The chicken burger my partner had was OK, the chips were scraps and many small pieces that were also greasy. Burgers we ordered were very mediocre the roll was decent.
UPDATE: 21/06/19 : I met with Tim the owner, understandably there was some issue with the fryer, he apologized and thanked me for bringing this to his attention and gladly refunded my money for the entire meal. So I decided to give Macleans Street Fish Supply another try the next day. Wow, what a difference!! The fish and Chips were very tasty and the batter was phenomenal.

H.Usually go to Fed up Fast Foods on a vist to Paraparaumu, but tried this place instaed, overall very good but handling the fish without gloves during Covid days...not a good start. decided to stay and try anyway knowing hot fried food will be a cure-all, and it was, Fresh fried fish, Chicken crumbed burger, very good and not overcooked, jucy as with lots of acompanying salad. may revisit subject to watching revues.
C.Over the years I've been to MacLean St Fish&Chip Shop at various times and found the high quality hasn't varied much at all. The service is always welcoming,the waiting time can change depending on whether you get there early. I've been there in the middle of rush hour and had to get into the queue along with everyone else. My fault entirely.Quality and portions are top notch.

Gets quite busy on a Friday night, otherwise you'll only have to wait about 15 minutes for your order.

Friday nights is mega busy and a real reflection of how popular it is. On a sunny day take advantage of its closeness to the beach, grab your fish n chips an take the 5 min walk to the seafront where you'll find tables and a great view.

K.If you are visting the area, there is nothing like the 'fish and chips at the beach' on a friday night from Maclean Street Fish Supply. The chips are krispy and the fish fresh (I know they all say it, but this one really is). There is nothing like crumbed treraki. Just take a short 30 stroll to the beach and use one of the picnic tables there and enjoy the view of the sun setting over kapiti island. Don't forget the plastic wine glasses and red wine.
