I normally go to the Whatawhata branch where the staff are excellent but I went to Hamilton this time. None of the old staff were on deck and no one came to serve us. I ended up loading the timber my self and had it tied down before anyone showed up. There were only 4 customers in the yard at the time. Not what I expect from Thomsons :(

Excellent staff and friendly service. Had to pick up some timber on Saturday and was running a bit late. the guy in the shop and the young fella in the yard went out of their way to make sure I had it that day. They even stopped by my house to help me unload it! Won't get that at your local mitre 10.

Popped in here the other day to grab a few posts for home and some hardware. Staff in the yard were knowledgeable and happy to do some heavy lifting. Good team will definitely go back.

I called to see whether I could get a certain length of wood. They said they have it. But when I went there 15 minutes later. They could not find it. Even though they had it in the system. They delivered some half rounds. There were some damaged. But they were happy to exchange. I felt prices were competitive. That's why I will go again.

Love the place but today I got greeted by a fat loud mouth moari lady with blonde hair staff member that was rude and told me know one would cut my lengths of wood I wanted to buy lucky another staff member he was awesome came and cut the pieces for me without me even asking anyway when we finished she then butted in while I was being served at the counter and tryed to tell the other staff member to charge me 10bucks for a cutting fee and the staff member who served me didn't charge me the 10 bucks cutting fee so I'd like to thank him and the other staff that helped me AZ for the rude staff member she should be sacked coz know one obviously listens to you
