We visit on a regular. Only problem we had was getting someone too help in the kitchen display department, we were told, the person who runs this area and who could help us the most is only here on certain days, so we ended up using a different store to purchase our new kitchen. Disappointed but still happy to use our local.

It was OK. It was hard to find somebody that wasn't busy that could help me. I was buying a cupboard and I needed to ask another customer who was lovely to help me get it onto my trolley. It was very heavy.

Not usually a fan of this type of place, but the Hawera store is fast changing my mind. The staff in the paint department are just awesome. Friendly and knowledgeable and also very helpful in finding a bargain or two as well. We will be back.

Probably the best staff of any diy store in NZ...and some of them know it.....some are a little more humble and only rank themselves slightly below gods.... seriously, good people. Without the staffing personalities and their knowledge Hawera would be a very poor place to do business

On 30 01 2020 i bought 4 ltrs. of Dulux gloss exterior paint for $50 93 On 29 4 2020 i bought the same brand, gloss and amount only a different colour and was charged $99.00. Both standard in stock paints. How can Bunnings possibly justify a price almost being doubled in just a few months ?

The staff were a bit annoying. I was looking for a certain brand of plaster that I couldn't name but would recognise on sight and asked where the bags of plaster were. The lady asked what it was for so I explained I just need to match the stuff I already had and just needed to see what plater they had. She scoffed and said it wasn't all in one place, like it was too much to tell me there were three sets of shelves with bags of plaster at one end of the store. I ended up wandering around and found it after someone else pointed to the exact stuff I needed having overheard what I was looking for.

Great store to visit, standard corporate layout so easy to find what you are looking for, staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Only downside is, due to it being in a smaller town the store doesnt have the "in stock" availability that some larger stores have.
