My advice with Mitre 10 stores is to check your prices against Bunnings, I have found recently that the Mitre 10 pricing on some of the items I purchased to be more than double Bunnings for the same item. When I approached Mitre 10 about their price match garantee, plus an extra 15%off as advertised, they wouldn't honor it, stating it has a different brand name, which is a cop out as the two stores use different brand names for the identical items, so their price match garantee is just meaningless advertising.

Shame about their promotional 15 percent hoax, it's only honoured if people are prepared to waste a lot of time and be embarrassed to take back their purchase to the other store. Once when I pointed out their Facia timber boards were cheaper elsewhere I got told if I wasn't happy go buy it at the other store. Staff are usually excellent and knowledgeable. Even had a guy change a blade on my circular saw for me.

I have arthritis in my knees so to much walking on hard floors can turn a simple shopping trip into a very painful experience. The staff were amazing and so helpful, helping me find what I was looking for and then going above and beyond... I wish I had got his name, but a huge thank you to the lovely man that helped with the price check I requested.

Wonderful helpful staff. Met a very knowledgeable guy in the tools aisle. He listened to the description of my problem then explained he had had a truck shop in the past and that the solution to my problem would be to drill out the head of my problem screws. I then purchased some metal drill bits and replacement bolts and went home. Found his advice was spot on. Perfect solution to my problem

Have made several visits over the past few weeks gathering my supplies to redo my back garden. Ended up getting woven weedmat, Number 8 compost, and mulching bark. Also bought 2 low growing Brunfelsia (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow) and a small Gardenia. All the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Big shout out to Dee especially, she's helped me out with all sorts of suggestions for my garden. If you need help with loading your purchases into your vehicle, like I did with 10 bags of compost and 8 bags of mulch, there's always someone to help. Good variety of plants, shrubs, fruit trees, flowers, pots and tubs, fertilizers, etc. and even garden art to choose from.

So, I had these 2 old electric Black and Decker hedge-trimmers that had both given up the ghost and a droopy chain on a chainsaw that wouldn't tighten. Bruce in aisle 4 served me. What amazing service ! He not only came out to the car to help me bring in the 3 pieces of equipment but immediately went to work dismantling the chainsaw to inspect why the chain wasn't tightening, even though it was not purchased from Mitre10 but their opposition !! After finally fixing it, Bruce then proceeded to show me how to sharpen the chain (sold me all I needed to do the job), filled it with oil (again sold me something I wasn't intending to buy !), got the saw running and had me walking out the store a very happy chappy !! An hour later, a guy called Roy rings me. He tells me he has opened up both hedgetrimmers, cleaned them out, reassembled them and what the problems were. If that wasn't enough, he also proceeded to sell me a more up to date hedgetrimmer that he has put aside and is now waiting for me to pick up. Brilliant service and has convinced me to buy all future gardening equipment from this store if the staff are so competent in their own fields and it doesn't have to get sent away for weeks for repairs. Also have had really, really helpful and friendly assistance from Vicky and Bain in plumbing (I think ??). As for Joan in the gardening section outside, she's phenomenal ! Can't speak highly enough of her ! Would highly recommend this store to anyone.

A good store with regular specials. Nice sized garden centre area and the convenience of a Columbus cafe on site. The garden centre has covering but can still be wet and cold in inclement weather. The sounds of Pukekohe Raceway sometimes intrude when outside but the occasional rumble of a train going past is no worry. Assistance available if you want things taken to your car. Airpoints can now not only be earned but used to pay for purchases.

Mitre 10 MEGA offer a 'Same product' elsewhere cheaper priced item, which they will not match, however going further by taking 15% off that 'Same product' in store priced item. Having difficulty finding what your after? There is a friendly team of staff who can help you in the right direction to get just what your after or provide you with their expertise of professional advice to source the right product and how to, to complete the job to your desired end result along with any Health & Safety information you may request or necessary to complete the work. The is a cafe located within to enjoy a coffee and/or a selection of food before, during or after your experience at this store.
