D. P.Fantastic customer service by everyone! We ended up purchasing a lawnmower from Warren ( world of knowledge) super star in customer service ! 10/10! Also Kevin / Stephen in the kitchen/ bathroom department we will be soon ! Fabulous
A. R.Two young men assisted to locate product in warehouse and into the car. Very helpful. The first man I approached in the aisle wasn't willing or able to lift the product explain he had a back problem to which I said I was not prepared to lift and carry. Took a moment for the penny to drop that assistance was required
W. L.I bought a chainsaw from here and the man gave me some good advice on the brand and size. He also put the blade on for me free of charge, instructed me how to start it, oil to use, and mixing bottle for it. Very impressed with the service! Regret not getting his name, older guy.
C. M.A helpful, spacious warehouse. Neat and tidy. Lovely gift ideas and ample options for tradesmen. A nice place to shop, albeit prices have risen on everything since Covid. The in-store Cafe was not a pleasant place to be. Coffee attendent banging around behind the counter. Ridiculous 🙄 noise!! Music blaring loudly throughout. Causing one woman to yell while having a chat to her friend on the same table. Must admit....noisiest coffee break we have ever had🤔..... certainly not relaxing for anyone who wore hearing aids.
P. S.The staff are great and very helpful way better than the Aussie opposition. I find everything I need here and loads of advice. Staff always ask if they can help and offer great advice
L.I enjoyed a delicious CAB (chicken, avocado and bacon) salad. Plenty of food, fast service and great price.
My adult daughter loved her huge steak, mushroom and haloumi cheese sandwich too. The salads in both meals were quite different with flavours that really worked well.
Definitely highly recommend both meals!

They love to provide you with helpful advice and information. Lots of parking spaces are available. They're also providing the customer with free Wi-Fi.

M. M.I just wanted to say how lovely it is to be greeted by a friendly face with a "Good Morning" when entering Mitre10 Whangarei. I have not been allowed entrance at some shops in Whangarei due to not wearing a face mask (I have an exemption). What these stores may not realise is I will NEVER support them again in the future when this madness is over. THANK YOU Mitre10!
L. H.Mitre10 has been better than Bunnings with click and collect. Within 24hrs you're able to collect. Easy pickup system. Communication better than others and when your order is not in stock they call and arrange alternatives. Their garden centre did not do well over lockdown so stock was low on plants. They provided what they could and refunded the rest within a week.

I Came in late arvo on a Friday he was busy serving multiple people but was super fast he found me a replacement head for my line trimmer and fitted it for me , I told him it has never run properly and he took it outside for me and gave it a tune up now it’s running mint. Finding good customer service is hard these days the world needs more PJ’s.

E. E.This rating would have been much higher if my experience in the garden section had been much better. Unfortunately the young Maori gentleman & his young female European counterpart (with tattoos on the backs of her knees), were far too involved in their personal conversation to be bothered assisting me. When asked if they had a specific plant, the guy said oh yeh they've just come in, there right here next to us & waved me off to them. When I asked if it was the cascading one he said I don't know I haven't looked yet & carried on with his conversation with the female who was even more disinterested. I had to get my glasses out & get down to ground level to read the label only to find out it wasn't the one. They were really unhelpful & unprofessional.
On the flip side, when I first arrived I asked an older gentleman a question & he was really helpful & suggested I go to 'Trades' to check with them, so I did. Simon, was FANTASTIC! He really went the extra mile. It's such a shame that this kind of professionalism isn't being practiced in the plant section.

We initially were going to drop into the big B warehouse, but queues a mile long, so did a U turn and were able to get into Mitre10 without any covid fuss!! Of course masks are mandatory, but that is part of our lifestyle from now on. Good on you Mitre10.

V. C.Generally brilliant place. Usually have what we need, happy to place a hold on items. Unfortunately last week, we were palmed off with garden furniture which was already made up. When queried about it, they weren't sure why. Arrived home with it and the benches didn't match as one had clearly been on the shop floor, the other had a massive chip in it. Returned them. Ended up with the 2 display models as that was all that was left. They wouldn't order any more in, or attitude by the owner. Had a minimal amount discounted from the display models. Not entirely happy with management attitude but staff were and are as helpful as possible.

M. S.Have always been an avid Bunnings customer but did my first shop at Mitre 10 Whangarei today and the service from Jess in Bathrooms and Madi at checkout was exceptional. We will definitely be returning.
L.This place, for the non-Kiwi/Australian folks, is like a Lowe's. Except for one huge difference, they have an awesome cafe! The cafe reminds me of the Ikea situation, in that it's a super box store that has a very good restaurant.
The Mitre 10 sells very standard stuff for building, gardning, housewares, and plants etc... It's a huge store. They have everything you need for your home and garden. They have plenty of DIY stuff for your projects or honeydo lists.
I like this store a lot as they have a huge selection for every home and garden need!
Now to the cafe...I didn't even know they had one until a good friend told us. She also said it was good, and she was 💯 right!
It was a bit of a zoo the day we tried it. We had to wait a bit for a table. As it was chilly out that day, we didn't want to sit outside.
I ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which are premade. My partner ordered a Paleo bowl of salmon, poached eggs and (I think) kumra. Which has to be made to order. He also had a flat white coffee which he enjoyed. We are coffee snobs (I'll admit), we grind all our own coffee and buy it from Auckland. So when my partner likes a coffee outside our home, that's saying something. I had water.
My croissant sandwich came out very quickly, no surprise there since all they have to do is warm it up. Btw, if you like your ham and cheese with mustard, you're or of luck here. They don't have any.
Then we waited... Sadly, we had to wait a very long time (40 mins!). I had finished eating and watched as customer after customer ordered, finished eating and left.
I have been in the hospitality industry for years. So I understand when places get busy. In fact the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the fact that they took so long to get my partner's order out.
We eventually had to get the manager. I hate to have to do that, but it was clear to us that they either didn't put the order in, or (according to the manager) they were very backed up. Again, I really understand that, but they shouldn't have served my sandwich until my partner's food was ready. This is also why I think the order got lost in the shuffle. 5 mins after telling the manager about the issue, the food came out.
The good news is the food was very good! My sandwich was very nice, with the exception of a fairly soggy croissant. My partner's Paleo bowl was delicious... And worth the wait!
The manager did give him another flat white on the house, which was nice.
All the employees at the cafe and the main store are great! The manager of the cafe was very professional and nice. The people working behind the counter were all very friendly and professional. When I have been at Mitre 10, to just shop, all the employees have been very helpful and kind.
I most definitely recommend Mitre 10. Both the store and especially the cafe.
To spite the mess up with the food, this cafe is surprisingly very good. Since I'm not a fast food fan, I am pretty particular when it comes to eating outside the home.
If you're out shopping at Mitre 10, or somewhere close by, make a point to stop by and have some yummy food! It's way healthier than fast food!

B. O.I have always been satisfied and comfortable with my previous experiences of shopping in Mitre 10 Whangarei. The staff in the shop are always courteous, friendly and obliging and the quality of goods is very good. My latest request could not be completed by goods available to me in the store but staff members went out of their way to assist me. They sourced two items for me from other Mitre 10 outlets and had both storage units assembled and delivered to me in Whangarei within ten days.

D. C.I have often enjoyed shopping at Mitre 10 Whangarei, but last Friday was the best time yet! Helpfully taken to the right area to buy a water blaster by one staff member, and he made sure to introduce me to the expert there. Terry and PJ then went through all the uses, attachments, pros and cons to set me up with an excellent water blaster for my needs. Then it got better! Jeet on the counter was polite, friendly and very helpful - reminding me to use my Air-points towards the purchase. The perfect shopping experience.
C. B.It has a good amount of stock but closes too early for those of us who work a full day before getting the hardware. Luckily Bunnings is open much later and is bigger!
C.Didn't have what I wanted didn't know what I was talking about even showing them the picture, when I bought my last one from them a year ago, couldn't offer me a alternative.

They enabled us to successfully apply the duct tape, were courteous and considerate. We firmly recommend the staff in this area for their amazing customer service and thank them for all their assistance.

t. w.I would like to see Mitre 10 which is New Zealand owned come up to the same standard pricing and uniformity as Bunnings (which is foreign Owned)
For example I selected a motor mower at Mitre 10 Papanui branch for purchase through their Whangarei branch, only to find that the price was over $100 more at Whangarei for exact same item.
Also at least match Bunnings with their low price quality coffee and snacks.
