C.Interesting place to stop for a visit. I've driven past many times and this time I stopped and so glad I did. The rain didn't dampen (excuse the pun) my enthusiasm. Didn't try the coffee so can't comment on that.
D.Was referred here by my regular vet for some specialised surgery. They took great care of my dog. Were lovely to talk to, very engaging. Totally recommend!
G.We brought our cat here to have eye surgery. The vet was kind and kept us informed every step of the way, even when things didn't go as we hoped. The team were kind and reassuring allowing us to spend time with Charlie post op. This practice is a bit further to travel but definitely will use them in the future.
A.My mum’s dog Gus has been to McMaster and heap twice in the last month. First for a very overdue teeth clean and health check and last night after eating a block of dark chocolate! On both occasions, every single staff member present has been incredibly lovely to deal with and myself and friends who have been looking after Gus didn’t feel judged at all, as I have done by vets in the past. As a highly stressful environment, both for the welfare of your pet but also for the cost, McMaster and Heap vets make the experience very pleasant. Thank you for saving Gus! ❤️
M.The vet care is very good here. The vets are all very smart. They performed a very successful surgery on my dog, so I highly recommend for care. The only negatives I had were the amount of dogs and crowding in the main lobby, and they didn't have the training to handle my dogs anxiety and keep her calm and separated from the other dogs, which gave her a bit of a bad experience.
K.I highly recommend McMaster and Heap Vet Practice. Sadly my beloved cat Teddy became very sick with cancer. Steve and the team were excellent at a highly emotional and stressful time. They ensured my cat was kept comfortable and when the time came when there were no other treatments available and Teddy no longer had any quality of life they enabled teddy to have a gentle passing which was handled with the utmost respect and sensitivity.
S.Our dog was admitted last Thu nearly comatose from sudden onset Haemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Because of the dogged determination and excellent care from vet Lynn and all the vet staff, Stan pulled through. He’s recovering well. McMaster and Heap is an outstanding vet practice. Very grateful for the standard of care and empathy. Highly recommended!
K.Really great experience. My LH cat has been a patient here since 2012. It's always very busy and the staff do a fantastic job under pressure. We have had to come in at short notice from time to time and they have been very accomodating. Highly reccomended.

T.Thanks to the lovely person that overheard my mother's option of putting her cat down and when she returned a second time with her cat. There was a customer that overheard her conversation and had put some money towards her bill. So thank you to the kindness of this person and my appreciation to do that for her.
Its funny after three months later I myself had to bring my wee girl to have an ultrasound so lucky that my own vets referred me to McMaster and heap. Yes my little girl has some issues though with treatment and quality of life she'll have a little bit longer to life. 🐶🐾

T.Fast and efficient, love the segregation between dogs and cats with different sections in the waiting room, mind you couldn’t work out what pronoun I should use (dog or cat) for my own positioning.
S.Steve, Michelle and their team are fantastic. They wrote the book on going the extra mile for their clients. You can always tell just how much they care about every person and pet which they help (even when that pet may not reciprocate).
Having such an accessible level of expertise, care and experience is a real asset to the community and certainly to our family.

C.This is a fantastic veterinary clinic, they are so knowledgeable and helpful. We have 2 cats and a dog and we won't take them anywhere else. Also they are open 7 days and have a battery as well.

S.My dog needed surgery, it was organised and completed easily and successfully with no dramas :) .... my fav vet the staff are always ki d and courteous ... they have saved me alot of money as my dog needs on going scripts to get insulin online, last vet charged for each script now no charge. Totally recommend 👌

A.Really helpful experience for our wee puppy with eye issues. When we went back in for our check up and our anxious dog was stressed and barking in the waiting area with the other dogs the lovely lady there gave us an empty room to wait for the specialist. This was very thoughtful of her and made the experience less stress for me and our wee pup.

'Every' member of the staff take the time of the animals and humans that walk through their door. T.Super friendly vets! The receptionist are always super bubbly, good service and make a point of genuinely apologizing if there's a long wait. The vets are professional and friendly too, you can see their honest adoration for animals. Could not recommend these guys enough! Bonus, they're open 7 days!
J.Travelled over from the west coast for my cat to have eye surgery here. They were wonderful making sure we could get an early appointment and operation done on the same day. Op was a success, thanks to everyone there.

Catherine is an absolute huge asset to your team, she is professional, informative and above all else, caring.
She has been seeing my cat Jasper for months and months after he was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (heart disease), I always appreciate her advice and wisdom she shares on each visit. I am a very anxious person and she presents information and advice in an extremely kind and dignified way.
All the other vets and nurses I've seen are just incredible too, special shoutout to Cara who I always run into at reception and she is never short of amazing.
Thank you all for what you do, you truly are a great practice.

J.Exceptional service from this Practice - from reception through to vet treatment and nurse care. Took my cat in for treatment as close by and she'd stayed in cattery in the past. Sara was very caring and later Steve did awesome job with dental work.
Treatment is costly but was very much similar to my previous vet other side of town. If you love your pets, they are in great hands with the team at McMaster & Heap

M.Wow is all I can say you guys rock you are an amazing caring team that I will highly recommend to everyone in Christchurch. Our British Blue 10 month old cat got mauled by a dog severely on Thursday night she was taken by a member of the public to after hours. We had to make a decision to take her to another vet in the morning (we use a mobile vet that lives out of town) the first person that came to mind was Michelle as my husband knows her. I felt like it was touch and go the whole time, you start thinking shall we put her down. Thank goodness for your massive experience and you making us feel completely comfortable that she was in the best care that you can possibly get. This is a cat that doesn't leave our section who is a home body, we felt like we were having a bad dream you have made it bearable. All we can hope for now is that she starts eating and that she can come home on Monday. Everyone needs Pet Insurance if it wasn't for this decisions get so hard! Thank you so much to your team of vet nurses and to Michelle, our family will be for ever grateful. Megan & Pedro Denison and the 3 boys 🐈🤞🤞😘
E.My dog just loves going...its like it's a big social event. Even when she's been unwell, she perks up when we park up and she sees the building and promptly bounces in. Their level of expertise and support as a team is amazing. I can't fault them and am very confident with their treatment of my fur-baby. I feel she's in very safe hands when she goes there.
C.Very knowledgeable staff and super understanding of the needs of different breeds of dogs. We first went here for a specialised test for our boy but we liked them so much we now always bring him here.
K.My dog Mac underwent two major operations at McMaster and Heap in August 2020, after being hit by a 4 wheel vechicle on a rural road in Timaru. I cannot thank his Veterinary Surgeon Helen Milner for professional expertise and care for Mac and for putting my mind at rest that all Mac’s injuries were treatable. Helen also made daily phone contact on Mac’s procedures and progress and also sent videos. I cannot thank you enough for that at such a traumatic time and being that I was so far away from him. Also to the friendly staff at the counter, to the Vet Nurses who loved and cared for Mac, I thank you so much.
D.Always get great service when I take my two dogs here. They were happy to let me bring my puppy in 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night when he got into the rubbish and ate raw chicken skin. The staff were very friendly and they took great care of my puppy. He left feeling much better.

T.What an amazing team! McMaster and Heap are my regular vets, but the service I received after my cat got hit my a car was fantastic! The care for both the cat and myself was awesome and knowing that she was in a safe environment with wonderful professionals put my worries to rest.
z.Staff are great and very friendly. Been here a few times for pup. Reasonably expensive but they all are really. Average prices compared to other vets. They stand out with their friendly staff. However down side is they are a very popular vets and always very busy. Have been twice and both times they were running behind with too many customer and not enough vets. But they seem to do a thourgh job are genuinely care for the pets

All those extras mean the world when you live 200kms away. Very expensive but worth it if you love your fur babies. Wouldnt hesitate to return if I need expert advice again at any time in the future. B.Have started taking our kitten there this year and the service is excellent. The vets are great with out kitten and the place just has a nice modern and clean feel. It is great that they do later hours and weekends as well.
