The accident and emergency covid ward at Dunedin Hospital . this isn't the flashiest dept around , but these guys and gals are just fabulous, they're dedicated, compassionate, thorough and extremely professional, I would like to take the time to thank all the staff involved with this department, they get little enough recognition as it is , what a thankless job they have and it's time the govt pulled their heads out of their upper crust arses and recognized them for who they are and what they do. One day some of these politicians are going to end up as sick as I am , then who are they going to run too ?? Yea you guessed it, our back bone of the NZ Heath sector
Well done to you all and a MASSIVE THANK YOU from me , Heads up , Stand strong and remain United, your worth 20 times what any politician is

Well had to go to the public hospital for chest pain on Thurs. They were struggling with staff shortages with Covid and a slower process getting seen, as they dont want Covid in the hospital. I was treated so amazingly, by the Doctor and nurse that were helping me. They were so resilient, as not everything was going smoothly, it was clearly a frantic start to the day, however there was not one grumpy face to be seen. We really need to treasure the service provided here..

Dunedin Hospital is where my husband got a new life gifted to him by the amazing team of neurology. Special thanks to Dr. Taha and Dr. Nadaiah for being there at every step and carefully explaining whatever was being carried out.
I will always be thankful to all the nurses, operational therapists, management team and everyone else to give my husband a new chance at life.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

just back from check up on previous cataract surgery. When it was found I needed laser treatment to correct one eye, the clinician, when he realised I came from Oamaru, said it could be done right away, to save me another trip. Another kudos to the fantastic eye department.

All staff doing their best in a harsh environment. Time Auckland sent some staff down to help as the south helped out in their time of need

Great service Queen Mary and Operating theatre. Though the experience of Child birth And pre and post stay was tiring and overwhelming.
We had our first baby there, their staff members, team of Midwives and after care of the baby physical and well-being checks were wonderful.
There staffing levels to be increased to help with increasing shortages of nurses and midwives however we mainly had positive and great experience with great Memories.
Thank you all staff who were involved at that time for your Care, Support and making our stay beautiful and worthy, we had great Times and experience.
Cheers 😇😊

Fracture clinic was busy, but no one was getting frazzled. Staff were caring and helpful.

My wife had our baby there over the Easter Weekend. The nurses midwifes and attending were absolutely incredible. Especially Debra Palmer, one of the Midwifes. Went out of her way to help us out. Thank you to each and everyone on the second floor maternity ward! You folks all rock! 😏
M.
Thank you to the emergency department and the ambulance team for looking after me in the emergency department when I had high blood pressure and high heart rate!

Cannot speak highly enough of the staff. All staff. Doctors, nurses, volunteers, cleaner, catering etc. Took husband with suspected heart attack. Seen immediately and staff friendly, humourous and relieved the stress tonnes. Staff were in emergency dept and ward 7c. You are all awesome. Cannot fault anything. Husbands food great. Please people. Keep Emergency Department for emergencies. Drove hubby from 2.5 hours away to get help from awesome Dunedin Hospital Staff. No ambulances available. That is another story! Fund paid St John staff!!!

My younger son admitted two times in children's ward for two different reasons. They are amazing people. Doctors, nurses, dietitians, play specialist, cleaning staff all are very helpful and caring. I have no suitable word to say thanks to these guys.

Good parking at round 8 anf 9.30am but after that not so good
Friendly staff

5 stars all around great service and treatments. Sarah the nurse from pediatrics went above and beyond absolute super star, surgeons top notch and everything in between.

My mum is currently a patient, and I have to say that we have found all the staff to be absolutely fantastic. Especially the nurses in the critical care unit, they have my utmost respect. The care you provide to not only your patients but also to their families can't be faulted.
J.
Personally didn't have the surgery, my aunty did! But Joyce in the radiation/fluro ward was brilliant! So lovely! So patient and just wonderful! Will request her for next time for sure!!
C.
The NICU here was amazing! The staff so friendly and supportive of families going through the worst possible time.
Cannot thank you all enough for the first class care you provided my twins and us as patient families.
We unfortunately got transferred to chch NICU where the care became negligent and non existent and nearly cost us the life of one of our twins.
We were so lucky to have gone to Dunedin as you showed us the way neonatal intensive care unit's should be run.

The doctors, nurses and security are very kind and good service

I had a bad case of the flu so they put me in isolation. They treated me so well!! They were really nice to me and they gave me medicine for the pain and pumped 2 L of water into my system as I was not hydrated enough thank you Jesus for the doctor and nurses that helped me there. They measured my blood pressure and checked me from time to time. Best experience ever! Unfortunately I didn't get to thank them after I left :( thank you guys!! I'm healed!

No woman likes having to go for a breast screen but I would have to give a five star rating for my experience this morning.
The staff was absolutely wonderful. I was attended to on time, with respect and the radiographer was just delightful.
Thank you ladies. You do a great job.

I had my c-section on the 23rd of July and it went well. All the staffs and doctors that were there during my pre-admission up to my surgery was all great. The anesthetist has done a great job, my anxiousness was relieved by his humor😂. (i believe that u will do great jobs as long as u r with your "bugs bunny"😉😊)
God bless!😇

nurse leigh (i hope i spelt that right ) from level 8 stroke unit thank you for caring for my nana so well until she passed . you showed great care and love for her . i will never forget you, you are sunshine in human form. 😭🥰❤️☀️

My experiences at the hospital has always been pleasant. They make sure that you are given the best care. I can't thank them enough for all if the medical care my family received from this hospital. More power to everyone involved in the hospital.
S.
Amazing staff. They helped as much as possible when I was in with my baby. Can't fault them. The food however is terrible I couldn't stomach it most days. Also we were staying in the children's ward and the bedrooms are so cold. This worries me as sick kids/babies really need to be kept warm
T.
Absolutely brilliant...! My mother was on holidays and had to be rushed to hospital and was there for a week and a bit... Being all the way in Australia we cannot thank them enough for the support and communication and outstanding efforts they put in with my mum...! We owe you more than just a thank you and will forever being in their debt

My son just had his tonsils and adenoids out. He was so well looked after. All the Dr's and nurses were so caring. Thanks heaps 😁
C.
I’ve never had a problem at the hospital. The times I’ve been in the food has been good and the staff have been far more helpful than you think they’d be considering the level of stress they must be under.
P.
Amazing doctors and Nurses the only draw back with the current Hospital is the lack of free parking for patients or family members there is a car park across the street but it costs a lot or there are metered car parks around the hospital that cost an arm and a leg hopefully the new hospital that will be getting built will have alot more car parking
R.
Excellent service with all modern equipments. Highly professional team except for the social worker who is very old and incapable for the role. Otherwise I would have given a five star rating.
S.
The nurses and doctors that we have dealt with here were absolutely amazing!
D.
Great nurses in the emergency department and did a great job on looking after me when I had my bike accident in late 2013 including a few days later after my bike accident having a relapse got seen right away since I was in a fair bit of pain
g.
All most died, not due to the hospital, totally unrelated, wouldn't recommend
M.
They do their best with what they have got. Great staff, great support, good work.

My father has just been in Dunedin Hospital for a month and I can’t speak highly enough of the fantastic care given to him by a the dedicated team on the 6th floor.
m.
I was born here.
Shoutout to the doctor 10/10 service probably I can't remember
M.
Needs replaced. But they're doing that, so.. cool!
But is there actually any such thing as a 5-star public hospital?
J.
I have been in the Oncology Dept and find their service brilliant!!!
They work very hard for their patient’s
C.
Thank you to the staff at Queen Mary and NICU for accommodating us for the 2 and a half weeks we were there for.
