1st class staff. Ward 1 had a great team spirit which definitely benefitted the patients. My experience of 12 days on that ward was equivalent of private hospital or even better.
Building needs bulldozing down and start again, but designers should walk away from their desks and go and ask the people who do the actual work first before putting pen or pencil to paper.

Emergency department are amazing. So caring and helpful. Brought in my 2 year old with a head injury and they couldn’t be more courteous. Thank you.

Staff are incredible! I can't say enough about their willingness to make my stay for gallbladder surgery as pleasant as possible.
The hospital earns my gratitude in every way!

Pleasant team. Prompt service (during covid lockdown). Parking can be a challenge. Disabled parking, just beyond the entrance area, is no problem.

The nurses are amazing, they do a fantastic job under hugely difficult circumstances. A pity the hospital can't spend some money on the patient's showers in the surgical wing. The taps are loose and it's impossible to control the water temperature.

My family wish to extend our deepest appreciation for the absolutely amazing service we received from the staff and doctors at the Whangarei ER on Saturday evening. We have only been in Whangarei for two weeks after moving from Auckland when my son fell ill.
We rushed to the ER after my son had trouble breathing and experienced pain in his chest. The reception staff were amazing, super efficient and friendly. Our attending nurse Roby (not sure of the spelling) was so helpful and put us right at ease.
Within fifteen minutes of arriving my son had a bed and a friendly nurse was getting him set up for an EKG. After an X ray and blood tests Doctor Bridget Thorp talked to us about the diagnosis. She was kind and patient and answered all our questions putting us at ease. Thank you, thank you!

My hubby n I would like to say a Huge Thank you to all the staff in the children's ward. Ward 2. Such beautiful hospitality and kindness from all involved in the care of our daughter. We truly appreciate each and everyone of you. From Te Awa who was in Room 8b.

Ive gotta say my treatment at the Hospital was 1st class on my two unfortunate needs to be there, lol. BUT ! they should not be charging people good money for such a pitiful excuse for a car park, its been a major issue for far too long now and whoever is responsible for the hospital parking has failed. [maybe time to retire] and give the job to a new go getter.
