A. T.Absolutely awesome. Makes most motels seem second rate. These cottages are styled in old world charm which makes them quite unique. Comfortable beds which made for wonderful nights of sleep and great couch for watching TV. Cottage was clean, warm and quiet making for a peaceful stay. Jane was a friendly and personable host. If l have a criticism there would be only one, that being the water pressure in the shower was not strong. Despite that we will be returning.

A. C.Lovely spot, lovely owners, a lovely time was had... Close to the camp grounds for visiting the relatives, and also close to shops in town. Plenty of parking and good facilities to cook your own meals if you want to stay in. Comfortable beds and fabulous shower in the bathroom. We will definitely look at staying here again if we are ever passing through again.

S. &. J. H.Just want to say what a great place this was to stay. The cottage was very quaint with the gorgeous old-setter look. It was clean and warm. Our rooms were serviced every day (lovely to come back to fresh towels etc after our day's outing). Great facilities, ie. kitchenette, bathroom, tv, etc. It was literally minutes to walk to the Arrowtown shops, so we didn't have to bother taking our car and trying to find a park. The hosts were so friendly - we were made to feel very welcome at their lodgings. We would highly recommend this place to stay.
D. L.Very lovely motel and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The motel is decorated with vintage stuff and everything is nice and cosy. If you are a cat lover make sure you go and stay there. There are two friendly cats (they look exactly the same!) they welcome everyone at their car at their arrival. They introduce you to your room after you check in. They stay in your bed if you like. They are gorgeous cats!
k. h.We spent two nights at this motel in a one bedroom unit and were very happy with our stay. The unit was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the views of the nearby hills were beautiful. The owners were friendly and helpful and best of all, one of their two adorable cats spent the night with us! It was only a five minute walk into town and close to the river walk. It was a far more personalised experience than your usual motel and we highly recommend it. Only slight detractor was the lack of a decent sized shelf in the bathroom, but this is a very minor detail.

p. f.What a wonderful start to our NZ holiday. Clean, comfortable and cosy. Quaint and well kept. Jayne and Karl were marvelous hosts. Monty and Charlie the resident Burmese cats make you feel right at home by coming in the open door and straight onto your lap or onto your bed. The four nights we had there were absolutely fantastic.We have already mentioned it to friends here in South Australia. Thanks again, Jayne.
鐘.The owner is a former Milford sound skipper. We got all the information we need to plan our trip to Milford sound. Very very very kind and helpful!
The room is so spacious and the deco is adorable. Kitchen is well equipped. The place is super quiet, need to keep voice down in night time. The bed is super cozy, we had a sound sleep there.
Remember to read the tourist guide book provided by the owner if you plan to explore arrow town. It’s a pity we did not stay in arrow town for a longer time. It really worths a one day trip here.
K. M.Our stay was exceptional. The old world charm took my mother back in time. Hosts Carl and Jayne were warm and welcoming. Our cottage was clean and very comfortable. The linens were lovely. Overnight we had a huge snowfall. We woke up to a stunning snowcover that created spectacular scenery. The power was out but our lovely hosts provided hot water bottles and hot water for a hot drink. We will definitely return.

I think this beautiful town is a better choice than the complicated Queenstown.

We chose this property as we wanted to stay out of busy Queenstown but still be within close proximity. Located in a quiet street, the cottages are surrounded by lovely gardens (would love to see in Springtime) and decorated with vintage/quirky furniture. So if you like this kind of thing, then Settlers is your place! A motel with old world charm and a heap of character, our one bedroom cottage was spacious and warm. Beds super comfy with nice linens and electric blankets - much appreciated on those cold winter nights. The motel is an easy 5 min walk from the centre of Arrowtown with lots of options for dining in the evenings, although we chose to cook 3 out of our 4 night stay using the kitchenette in our room, which was well appointed. Wifi was fast and reliable. We also had access to an onsite laundry for a small fee. Hosts Jayne and Carl were friendly and accommodating. We felt very welcome and had an enjoyable stay. Would definitely recommend to those seeking an alternative to Queenstown that delivers comfort and value for money.
T. K.The rooms were beautiful and the beds were comfortable! Everything was peaceful and warm and it allowed us to relax. It is a 5 minute walk to town and perfectly located for day trips to Wanaka and Queenstown without having to deal with the business of those towns.
J. W.We recently spent one night at the Settlers Cottage Motel and wished we could have stayed longer. The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable, and we can’t wait to go back. We stayed in the 2-bedroom unit with ensuites which is ideal for two couples travelling together especially as each bedroom had their own ensuite. Our kitchen was well-equipped and we appreciated the excellent wi-fi. The location is great as it’s only a 5-minute walk into the main shops of Arrowtown. Jayne is a lovely person who takes the time to chat with guests and provide any information needed.

5.Settlers Cottage Motel is such a lovely place to stay, clean comfortable cosy, affordable and close to all tourist attractions. Just a short walk to Arrowtown with all its eateries and shops. We were made very welcome by Jane and Carl and I can totally recommend a stay there wíll not disappoint

F. D.Considering high prices all around Quenstown, this Motel is realy a good choice. Staff is very friendly. But the equipment is a bit worn out, free wifi provided is very limited and there are some other minor flaws. But generaly we enjoyed our stay and if you are looking for a place to spend a night for reasonable price, this might be an option.
