E.I loved staying at the Shades of Arrowtown! Beautiful grounds and very comfortable cabin. Lovely owner and the amenities were some of the more modern of our road trip across NZ where we stayed at multiple hotels. The grounds were so lovely to come out to every day, they really contributed to the relaxing atmosphere. Also a very short walk from many restaurants. I would stay here again over going to downtown Queenstown in the future.
F.Brenda & Frank are very welcoming. Brenda showed me the 'cottage' style apartment, for our stay, surrounded by their divine garden. I felt at home straight away. The beds are very comfortable with lovely pillows. The Kitchen Unit is very well designed, so we cooked our breakfast there.
The interior was comfortable and thoughtfully laid out and the colour scheme very pleasant with original art works on the walls. Shower was the best I've had in NZ. The bathroom has a good lay out.
Each Cottage has a little bistro table and pair of chairs outside, to sit and enjoy the tranquility. Across the road is a beautiful park and the beginning of all the Arrowtown Cottages with cafes, pubs and shops.
I cannot wait to stay there again.

S.Great location- short walk to town. Very clean with comfortable bed and nice toiletries. Kitchen including kettle and microwave. No AC, which was a bummer as it was hot Terrific shower with excellent water pressure. Very friendly manager. Good value and would definitely stay here again!

HOWEVER: basic let-downs. Could be cleaner etc behind bed, Microwave, Pots/Pans . . . .
Warm water either cold or burning hot. Kitchen tap needs "Hammer" to operate.
No Recycling! Parking problems. No ambient lighting.
Want to "Save Towel Wash" for enviromental reasons . . . but have a build-in fridge in kitchen unit with a HUGE waste of energy.
A.Brenda and Frank were amazing hosts! Friendly and accomodating and made our stay most comfortable. Room was tidy and clean. The motels are in the perfect location less than 100 metres from historic town centre. Perfect for a stroll into town. Would highly recommend this jewel away from the crowds of Queenstown !
J.Good motel to stay for short term if you want to avoid the touristic town like Queenstown. Quiet property with friendly owners. There are laundry places at the facility. Good restaurant within walking distance for good dinner or breakfast.

Ein kleines Motel im Herzen dieses kleine Dörfchen. Es ist sehr charmant eingerichtet. Die Einrichtung ist neu und gut ausgewählt. Die Betreiber sind sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit. Das Dörfchen bietet auch viele Cafés und Restaurants. Viele Infos in Google stimmen diesbezüglich leider nicht.
