I visited my friend who was staying here. The lady at the reception was very welcoming and warm. I loved loved loved the amenities the hotel provides. The pool was so much fun. And I am definitely booking a room for myself very soon.

I stayed on the 29th floor, room 13 for four nights. Staff 4/5: very welcoming and made the effort running Uber Eats deliveries up to the room quite often. Although, sometimes it was difficult to contact the front desk staff so I feel they might have been understaffed. Comfort 4/5: I enjoyed my sleeps. It was a smaller bed but very cozy. The seats and couch were nice and the addition of a bathtub was great. Cleanliness 1/5: probably the biggest let down. Being an older building, it has a musty old smell that you notice as soon as you walk in to your room. Even the lifts smelt. The carpets/rugs had stains and the underneath of the couch had not been vacuumed. I didn't bother using the dishwasher or washing machine/dryer as they appeared filthy. Quietness 3/5: centrally located, you can't escape the sirens and loud traffic outside. Neighbours could easily be heard, slamming doors and screeching of chairs being moved. Having the bedroom in a separate room, adding an extra door between you and the hallway entrance, did help keep the noise down. Location 4/5: great central location, I could only see things from my balcony as I was isolating in my room, but I know the area very well anyway and there's a nice park right outside and plenty of cafes, restaurants & shops within short walking distance. Summary: Such an iconic building facade , it just lacks the class and style on the inside. It could be an incredible visitor experience if they upgraded the rooms and improved the cleaning. The views are breathtaking, I was lucky to have the Skytower just about in view. The front desk staff were great but perhaps a few extra hotel workers could streamline the guest experience.

Absolutely beautiful views! Astonishing pool and spa area with a lovely view of the sky tower. Overall lovely experience while staying here! But to any Avani staff, please clean the windows as the view from our room was gorgeous but cleaner windows would’ve topped it all off🤍

I don’t know who to blame but I couldn’t get a refund because of nationwide lockdown and travel restrictions 🤷‍♂️ I requested as soon as we were declared to be locked down. But Avanis partner “Agoda” wouldn’t give us a refund (almost $800) I called them and emailed them about my circumstances and still didn’t give us a refund because of their policy which I strongly believe we should have been exempted from, as well as the cancellation fee they charged us after 4 days of being in contact with them. Its really a bummer and unreasonable that this happened to us. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who faced this issue. I contacted Agoda - the company that I booked under and eventually received a hotel credit. And I went to Auckland again but in a different hotel. I’ll leave a 5 star because I bet this hotel was better imo

Really nice hotel with nice rooms and great views. Centrally located with lots of handy eateries and restaurants close by. Hotel was well kept and very clean. Be nice if there were room service available. Still I'd definitely stay here again even without that option.

Staff is very kind, we are check in early even though we arrived in the morning and my room was up greaded. They have good facilities and equipments for 3 weeks staying here. love to see nice tapa cloth and drawing in the hotel. I appriciate to all the staff, I would like to come back again.

Stayed here for 3 nights and can definitely say we will be back. Service impeccable, check in/out quick and easy. Loved the location and how close everything is, and afternoon dip in the pool ain’t bad either.

Visited my girlfriend here in her condo. It is fine, her place looks amazing and I guess the location is good too and within reach of your daily needs. Like the grocery, a lot of food chains too and close by shops and more, the only thing that puts me a little off is when at night, the place gets to be a little weird, because there are a lot of drunkies. From all ages, well maybe it was because it’s a weekend but, I would rather be in a more quieter place.

Great hotel, and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Checking in and out was a breeze. The room itself is large and had all the facilities you need. Bed was comfy and the TV had lots of channels. It also has a kitchenette with microwave and stove. Rooms on 25+ floors have amazing views! The hotel is very well located, 20m from a late night eating area and a few minutes walk to Queen Street. Definitely worth getting for longer stays :)

Amazing harbour view from our bedroom on the 18th floor. The bed was divine with luscious crisp sheets and a very supportive mattress. 3rd visit and always the place we go for our anniversary.

It was an awesome experience staying in this hotel for a week. Very clean with all you need. We were at 21 floor with nice view. Also the hotel located in a great spot , in heart of CBD, close to Queen street and a lot of shops and train station. It’s 10 minutes walking to harbour and few minutes to sky tower.

Close to town and bus stops. Also close to the viaduct. Great sound proofing so the apartment was nice and quiet. Had everything we needed, super clean, comfortable and well maintained. Very clean.

We found our One-Bedroom Park Suite excellent. With a 15 month old, this Suite had everything that we needed: bedroom area that could be closed off to the living area (slide-doors), oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and drier, bath and shower. The communal pool and spa area was also a beautiful facility. Amit, at the reception made our check-out extremely easy - his friendly and helpful manner, while my husband went to pick up the hire car was greatly appreciated. I thoroughly recommend this accommodation, especially for families - easy access to a park, town and the waterfront.

Nice, luxurious hotel overall. The guest pool and spas were very enjoyable, as well as the beautiful views from our balcony. Handy little kitchenette and laundry included. Good shower. Sadly, the bed wasn't very comfortable. Didn't sleep well. We were also told we'd have a queen size, but had 2 singles put next to each other to look like a queen; couldn't really sleep in the centre comfortably.

First the positives. Excellent location close to shops and restaurants. The lobby is amazing and impressive and the reception was friendly and efficient. Rooms are large and very spacious. Beds are comfy. The difference between a good hotel and a great hotel are the details. The cleanliness could be improved. Especially noticeable in the bathrooms. Wear and tear could also be a factor and maintenance has just not kept up. The water was dripping from the toilet and resulted in a wet patch on the carpet. Stayed there 4 nights and you would think housekeeping would have picked this up and have it looked at. This could be an amazing place to stay but let down by the little things.

Really enjoy staying there, it is our go to in Auckland. The team always go out of their way to make it enjoyable.

Great staycation at Metropolitan. Small but well appointed 1 brm suite, lrg bthrm, lap pool, spa pools, gym and fitted out kitchen close to Chancery lane night life and excellent day eateries. Do it again, now! Dollars less than 130.00 odd for 2 per night.

Concierge and staff absolutely faultless. Perfect service check in and advice on dining, where to go, disabled friendly access. The views from level 21 were fabulous. However washing machine a bit grotty and had to push and hold dryer door shut for it to work ... and 25 minutes standing there (so lose 1 star). One toilet would not stop flushing. Lucky we had the two. No soap in 1 bathroom but ensuite well supplied. The whitest, softest towels. Other person in room said best room ever.

Really enjoyed staying here. The rooms are fully equipped, private and quiet and very comfortable. In a great part of the city that makes everything only a short walk away. Huge pool that is open late is a bonus. Would happily stay here again.

No room service but good number of restaurants nearby. Parking charges are too high @ $35 per night. Housekeeping is not the best - a bit clumsy. The reception staff was cordial and helpful. Rooms are nice, exquisite views of the harbour or sky tower are available. Also liked the indoor temperature controlled swimming pool (though the chlorine contents were too high).

Room was quite good and location is ideal. The furniture and bed was all comfortable and pleasant. The mixture of having private residents and hotel visitors in the same building was interesting and not really our thing though. We also arrived extremely tired and hungry from a long drive and was disappointed that there was no dining room service option available

What a great place, we stayed for 2 nights. Clean, comfortable, well equipped-This had a kitchen, washing machine, dryer, bath tub, balcony, heated pool and spa, Bluetooth speaker alarm clock to play music, USB port lamps to charge your devices. Was so close to everything in the city-Viaduct, Spark Arena, Queen Street, Civic, Town Hall etc. Wonderful views across Albert Park, the Museum, Auckland Harbour etc. The reception team were so friendly and helpful. Plus the price was fantastic. We booked direct with the hotel (and joined their Discovery membership free and fast online) and received it for a further 10% off. I will definitely be back!

Metropolis is one of my favourite hotels in Auckland, and they're only loosing 1 star from what would've been a 5bstar review because the room I stayed in had an issue with the oven and the air con ... otherwise highly recommend n🙂

The residence / hotel is situated very close to the shopping area in the city. Very convenient. Paid parking is available on site and just next door. The room and facilities are very good and well maintained. Would definitely return here for my next visit.

Convenient location. It's walking distance to the shopping stretch, britomart ... Supermarket. There is lots of eateries just right below and within short walk. 2 supermarkets within 10 min walking distance. Rooms are clean neat and tidy. The room I stayed had kitchenette I could cook simple breakfast. One minor issue is that can hear the Disco/nightlife music from downstairs... Stayed 22nd floor... It was not irritating to me but one can hear the beats and thumping.... So light sleepers might be a problem ... I woke up at 2am and can still hear. Not a major issue for me but we aware. Room had good views.

Mixed review. The facility is awesome ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The woman at the hotel desk gets ⭐ in my book. We rented an apartment through Travelocity (probably an Air B&B) and needed to get the key after-hours. Not see the hotel desk, and she was unwilling to help us sorry it out. Eventually found an old email message and got to the place where the key was in a lockbox. But it sure wasn't easy

Great location, reasonably priced apartment like setup. Full kitchen, dish washer and laundry facilities. Intertwined with Metropolis apartments just different entrances to the same building. Security is excellent and staff very pleasant and helpful.

Went up to Auckland for four nights and stayed at the Avani residences. Location was excellent and when we arrived our first impression of the building was of its grandeur. The building facade was nice and dignified.the interiors however, especially within rooms, look a little worse for wear – there were scuff marks on doors. Air-conditioning is also suspect in rooms and dialing it down to the coldest temperature does nothing to cool down the room .We had to open windows at night. One night, we were asked to pick up soap from concierge because "housekeeping had gone off for the day", even though it was housekeeping who did not replace finished soap during their regular daily rounds in the first place. In fact, one day while we were in the room when housekeeping was at work, we realised that the extent of their duty seemed to be just in making the bed – the toilets were not looked over, rubbish wasn't cleared, and the sink not attended to. To be fair, it could be that our presence in the room threw them for a loop. Internet, the life force for all millennials, was DISMAL. we kept dropping out of wifi and it was impossible to get any mail attachments downloaded because of that. This is an issue that was not resolved the whole time we were there, even though we had multiple conversations with the staff about it. We were given a passcode for "employee access" as opposed to the guest login, but that did nothing to remedy the situation. We were clear it was a signal strength issue, or connectivity problems, but the insistence of the staff on trying the new passcode made us feel condescended to (because logging in the same network with a different password is not going to solve signal strength/router problems...) That being said, the rooms were comfortable, very spacious, and affordable for its location and size. Would recommend the place if you get a different room from us (we stayed on the 13th floor). There is a washer and dryer, and full kitchen facilities and all the utensils you may need. It's also near freyburg square, which is a nice place with quaint eateries, bars, shops etc. A stone's throw away from Queen Street.

Good room, view out to the harbour was a delightful bonus. Good location for city, parking available in the same building. Housekeeping a bit random, not totally professional or consistent.

This is a killer spot. Best spot in Auckland. Literally best spot. Don't look any further. We grabbed a 2 bedroom with a kitchen we had 2 balconies. The night life is amazing, the cafes are amazing. It's central to everything. The view is to die for I could t snap up enough pics. Make.sure you get the highest floor available. Utilize the pool.

Excellent location and fantastic room sizes. Right in the heart of the city while not feeling like it is. Large pool is open until 11pm which is a nice change. Will definitely be staying again.

Who needs to travel when you can stay at the Metropolis! The choice is easy for a boutique experience right in the heart of Auckland. Razzle dazzle from the moment you walk in to the time you leave. Stay the Avani way and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed overnight for a conference. Views from the upper levers are impressive. Parking is a little interesting with a requirement to swipe both in and out of the carpark. Didn't get a chance to try the pool or spa.

Still one of the taller buildings in an increasingly altitudinous Auckland, Avani is as central as one could possibly wish, last night there was an impromptu concert in the Civic space adjacent to the hotel, and a short walk away in a vacant lot a night market was hawking a picant array of victuals, a coffle of Hare Krishna devotees were noisily proselytizing their peculiar brand of Hinduism down Queen St and on the roof of the car park adjacent to the hotel a clutch or two of youth picnicked and passed the passables. In reception I was greeted with cheeky insouciance, presumably part of the charm, I was happy to banter along but did wonder if it would be to everyone's taste. The room was artfully and comfortably appointed and the aircon blessedly quiet and efficient (how rare and wonderful this is). On the eighth floor an attractive lap pool awaits with not one but two spa pools. The cluttered gym has a slightly forlorn air, a great outlook and a window that opens, however the equipment both cardio and weights whilst adequate looks like it was last maintained when the black and white photos of exercisers on the wall - apparently from the era when Madonna's virginity was not merely analogous - were taken. 1gb of WiFi is included in the tariff, more will set you back $10 a day. I can't decide whether in this era of data, this is reasonable or miserly. Overall though a great spot to have landed and my favorite local bookshop is right next door!

Great location and fair price if you book in advance. Fit out seems a bit old I assume they have not do it up since opening. Only english tv channels, free wifi, small kitchen and washing machine, I guess if you look for value, its a good choice.

Fantastic four day stay.Nikita was especially helpful. Chancery Bistro has good food and an excellent place for breakfast. Apartment had a great view and had everything needed.

I only stayed one night but it was amazing! Very clean, spacious room and lots of essential amenities. This hotel is very central and I would definitely stay here again.

Avani Metropolis is a good service apartment located in CBD area. Rooms are clean with all facilities and value for money but what i miss here is the breakfast facility. But i recommend coffee club next to Avani for breakfast. Overall a comfortable stay.

I love the location! Right in the center. 1 min walk to Queen Street, the main shopping Street of Auckland CBD. Room is extremely spacious and has a view of the city and habour. Fantastic value.

Average stay at an average hotel. Entrance/lobby great for some wedding snaps if you're in to that. Front office manager is great - Amit, all else was average.

Nice building on the outside but the inside is very run down. Broken light switches, seals missing from the shower so the bathroom floor gets covered in water etc. Staff were always very polite and more than willing to help

Nice inner city location to stay for a ‘getaway’

After our 1st place we booked turned out to be a dump, we booked here, the staff are friendly and accommodating always willing to help, parking a bit pricey but besides that the views from the room and location fantastic.

Excellent customer service in a great location in a beautiful well appointed building. Avani were obliging of our requests and provide a lovely experience. We will be back.

3.5, but you get a 4. A/C is a challenge to operate. Coffee pods weren't restocked, but, I did get an extra 2 the day before, so that balances out. Super noise from night roadworks below, that isn't Avani's fault though. I'll be back.

V postranních uličkách v okolí je několik restaurací. Na plácku u budovy se poflakuje občas hlasitá mládež, během mého pobytu byl bazén v rekonstrukci, nemohu ho tedy zhodnotit.
