B.Country style build with history. This heritage house has a very nice lounge and dining areas, the rest of the place needs updating. The staff are great and very accomodating, helpful. There's just too much old stuff outside of the house by the laundry area. Could use some updating and cleaning. Very very good location, convenient as grocery stores, restaurants, even some market (french market) down the road.
M.We booked a private double room for a week and really appreciated the space! Very clean and comfortable bed in a spacious room with table and comfy chairs. It was the perfect room for us to relax and regroup for the week. The view of the sky tower from our window was really nice as well. The building itself is a nice old historical home, could do with some repairs, but definitely a good overall place to stay for a few days at a very reasonable price.
A.We had room 11. A private double room that is spacious and the bed and pillows are super comfy! The sheets clean and silky soft. Was sad to see there is no window in this room. Just a double door opening out to an enclosed balcony that also was accessable to like 3/4 other rooms so not feeling safe to leave the door open. The place is in a quiet area and most of the time quiet, although you can't foresee who else will be at the hostel at the time. We had some loud and noisy neighbors - come on guys, people sleep, or have jet lag! Otherwise everything else is great here. You got everything you need; laundry, 20 mins walk to town, nice outside area. Would stay again :)
M.Decent place can't really complain about the price being paid but definitely needs an upgrade in terms of buying new sheets, furniture and more awesome privacy leave when you want to which we really like the only concern now would be the safety of the place pretty scary hearing that there was a stabbing here.
C.Really interested building which has had some pretty important guests over the years including the Queen of Tonga and also the Queen of England. Lovely feel to the place. Very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were a decent size. The kitchen was clean and spacious and the living room area was really well set out and comfy. The hostel is just a couple of minutes walk from Parnell high street which means that you have shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Would certainly stay here again.
M.Me and my boyfriend visited this hostel many times and it’s the only place we return to for our stays in Auckland. Always nice stuff, clean rooms and good service makes this place perfect for us. You can park your car in front of the hostel as well. Also notice for people who came for working holiday visa, this hostel will provide you the much needed proof of address.
K.The location is a beautiful suburban area not too far from the centre. Our room was small but clean and well presented. The amenities were very tidy and clean. The room included unlimited wifi. Service was adequate. We had no issues.
A.This place is cheap and has a great location. You can easily take the bus down town and be there within 15 minutes. The place is also pretty old. Some windows couldn't close and the rooms didn't look super nice. That's not a big problem, tbh. The problem is, is that the office was closed half an hour before it should be closed. The shower stalls were dusty on the outside and had several empty shampoo bottles on top. There are only two toilets, that you had to share with an entire floor. It's cheap, but it will do, if you're not too picky.
T.This place has its flaws such as a lack of proper cleaning of the place and only four showers and toilets for 60 people. Lack of power sockets in the seating area and staff that are not present during the afternoon.
However it's better than staying in the cbd and the rooms are tolerable. The WiFi is free, unlimited and reasonably fast. It's quiet at night and the rooms do get some air (aside from the 4bed dorm).
M.We all know rooms are just four walls n a roof and what actually matters at a business like this one is the service and that my friends was exceptional. I don't like to post comments and stuff but the fact that I am is a statement of the awesome service that I received. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy going guys with customer's convenience in their minds is the best thing about this place. The rooms are as good as they come at such cheap prices. Cheers to the whole team especially Arun.
W.Really well-located hostel 5min away from Parnell rd. It's located in a very old mansion, so some corners of the place look like the Addams Family lives here, and when we stayed here there were clearly in renovation (or about to be). But even though it looks antique (and the walls/doors are thin), there is everything you need, it's rather clean, and you sleep well. And again, next to Parnell rd and the huge Auckland Domain.
M.I stayed three nights here while backpacking across New Zealand. Great rooms, showers and facilities. Most of all, the hosts were really kind and helpful, always very attentive.

J.Even if you have your own bedroom, it is like a dorm, as the walls are very thin and you can hear everything from the room nextdoor. EVERYTHING! A bit annoying sometimes.

J.I think your experience could vary greatly depending what room you get. I would recommend some of the rooms upstairs, the ones outside are pretty rickety and don't offer much in the way of protection against insects.
M.Awesome place! Loved it! Is been the jewel of Auckland for my experience. Met amazing people and the garden area is great for socialize.
M.It's a good place to stay a couple of days. It has everything (basic) that you need. I dont like the beds but i only paid the cheaper option.
K.Very Affordable, an interesting clientele, not your usual backpackers but they are still from around the world. A really great historical house.
L.Near Parnell road and the Auckland Domain (park and museum). From the CBD it's very fast by bus (line : inner or outer, is ok). If you stay a few days in Auckland, it would be good for your wallet and useful, to take the At Hop card (you can make it at the train station : brittomart, it offers you some fares on train, bus and some ferries)
J.Small rooms. No Cups in the kitchen, you have to ask for one. Showers and toilets are not really clean.

W.Great location near to city center. Old building which required some renovation. 10pm the door will shut down and not allowed to stay outside. And the price is economic!
