We stayed at Hotel Fitzroy the night of our wedding. It was nice but we thought it really wasn't that amazing and actually wish we chose the other hotel we were thinking of going with. The staff are friendly and helpful but the person who helped us didn't seem like they knew what they were doing and seemed a bit awkward. We arrived later at night (after our wedding) and the front gate was locked so we stood outside with all our bags and called to ask if there was someone there to let us in. They came out but didn't know how to open the gate (which is fine, it was just a bit strange as we were just standing there waiting). They couldn't open the gate so asked us to go around to the back gate... Once inside they sat us down and gave us cold tea and a biscuit when we really just wanted to go to our room. Once showed to our room they showed us around the room (pointed out the bathroom and a few other things) which we really didn't think was necessary and again, felt weird. Breakfast was okay, the effort was there but it was a bit cold and the lemon curd took away from it. All in all, this hotel tried to make it personal but it just felt awkward to us. Perhaps we just aren't the kind of people who appreciates that kind of service or maybe our expectations were too high, we just don't feel like what we got was worth what we paid.

We stayed at Hotel Fitzroy to welcome in 2022 and it was INCREDIBLE. The hotel is beautiful, flawlessly clean and styled to perfection. All of the extra touches almost seem too good to be true, but they are! From tea on arrival, complimentary minbar, drinks and hors d'oeuvres from 5pm to the in room breakfast service. Everything is delicious - we highly recommend the creamy mushrooms! If you are hesitating to book staying here due to price, we more than got our moneys worth through all of the amazing things included in the stay. The absolute highlight of our stay had to be Steven - what a superstar! So welcoming, friendly and just the best example of premium service! Thank you Steven, Chloe and team for making our stay and start to 2022 unforgettable!

Wow this place was next level amazing! The staff go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and I truly have never stayed somewhere we we felt so well looked after, amazing luxurious hotel would recommend to anyone! Steven was the best host ever thanks so Much Fitzroy !

We had a great stay for 2 nights over the Anzac Day weekend. The room, breakfast and property were all 5 star but what made it even more special were Sarah and the rest of the Team who ensured we had a great stay. We really enjoyed the evening drinks in the cozy library and followed that with a short walk to some excellent Ponsonby eateries. We look forward to returning!

Extremely friendly and professional staff. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The beds turned down each night. Breakfast we as fantastic and had outside on a stunning Auckland morning. The hors d'oeuvres were well appreciated at 5.00pm each evening, and it was great to chat with other guests. Well done to all at the Fitzroy a fine hotel thank you

Fantastic stay at this new secluded boutique hotel. Very attentive staff who welcomed us and made sure we were looked after. Comfortable well appointed suites with stylish design. Nice welcome drinks and canapes at 5pm. A good choice of breakfast options, super tasty. I thoroughly recommend this place and will be staying again.

We had a truly wonderful experience here ! We stayed on a Sunday night, thinking we'd kick back and relax . We met 4 other guests in the library for drinks and canapes and chatted and laughed for 4 hours . The Modern take on the rooms is spot on . The interior walls are rendered in a concrete plaster giving it a beautiful texture and feel . Whilst compact, the rooms had all the functions required with Air Conditioning, a tablet to control functions and a lovely bathroom. A Nespresso machine with mini bar is included in your rate .The bed was comfortable and we slept very very soundly. Breakfast was served piping hot in our room . Pity there wasn't a small table , however that's a minor thing. Staff were professional, caring and any request was met with a genuine smile . Highly recommended for a break from home/work/kids or as a guilty pleasure.

Dog friendly hotels are hard to find, and we were impressed to find one at this standard. Friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcomed straight away. Located at the heart of Ponsonby but plenty of on street parking and a short walk from restaurants. My puppy received heaps of pats and had his own menu! They even allowed us to bring a playpen, how great is that?

Had an excellent stay, service was superior and you've got the neighbourhood vibes of Ponsonby with a whole lot of bars, restaurants and cafes within 10mins walking distance. Really comfortable experience and will be my only go to for hotel needs from here on out whenever in Auckland :) Well done team!

Excellent service and the breakfast filled me up for the whole day

Outstanding. Great location for a big weekend in Ponsonby. Beautifully renovated building. Attentive, Friendly staff that went beyond the call of duty. We'd definitely stay here again.
