Stayed here for two nights and loved it - really nicely appointed apartments, quick/efficient checkin, comfortable bed and great shower.
Yes it's on the motorway, but as others have mentioned the soundproofing is fantastic so that's not an issue. Location is great - less than a minute's walk to bars, shops, bottle stores, restaurants and transport. Will absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Auckland.
b.
Really flash, good location and you're allowed guests. The price is 200 a night (size of a house), the apartment is spacious, has wifi and holds all the needs of a normal household.
D.
Nice place on k-road rooms are turned or each day. Could see the Auckland harbour bridge from our room, and the road noise is very quiet, ie didn't even notice it. Rooms are just on the small size and a bit dark even with all the lights on but very nice styling with white and black tone's.
E.
The hotel has a great location. Room was very spacious, clean and have essential kitchen utensils. Staff was very friendly and they care about us during our stay. Our room had a balcony that has an incredible view to the city.I would definitely stay here again!
N.
This little hotel really surprised me! Room was clean, well proportioned and had great amenities. Especially loved the kitchen area with sink, refrigerator, and countertop stove - plus all the kitchenware required to make a simple meal. The staff was super accommodating as well and really went above and beyond, especially to allow me early check in when I arrived exhausted after many hours of travel.
K.
Stayed here multiple times. It is amazingly clean, handy to K Road and local eateries. Ponsonby Countdown is the best bet for a supermarket, as it saves you walking up the Queen Street slope. The WiFi can be patchy in some rooms but if you need a fast connection, the staff at the reception can help. The Harbour View rooms are great, and the rooms are fully equipped with pots and pans, and other utensils and cutlery - great for a longer stay. Parking can be a hassle, but there is off-site parking nearby.
a.
Nice apartment but very noisy because is very close to highway and and you can hear the traffic, windows are not isolating very well, we stayed at 11th floor and the noise was pretty loud. We had also an issue with the ventilation system, there was a wired noise that came from the hallway and they said is because of too many ventilation systems are in use in the same time and nothing can stop it. The apartment walls has o lot of dirty marks, a fresh painting will be necessary, one of the 2 bedrooms was very small and we barely had space for our luggage. Nice view from the balcony.
T.
Nice modern room with great views. Very noisy with door open but nice and quiet once it is closed. Car park building not far away. Friendly receptionist. A pleasant stay for a good price
C.
Arrived to a helpful man telling us where to park while unloading our luggage, then he helped us into reception.
Excellent service from the friendly staff.
The 2 bedroom apartment had everything we needed and the sound proof glass to the balcony was a huge asset.
Although modern and clean, it’s quite small.
But was perfect for the one night we needed.
The smell of smoke was very off putting and I’m glad my kids weren’t with us.
The wifi worked well and the aircon was a bonus.
Walked across the road to cocos cantina - probably one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in a long time!
Parking was not great which was expected from previous reviews, however they could improve by giving directions on where to park and how paying for parking works in the area.
The beds were comfortable and bedding was nice, blinds did not keep out a lot of light though.
Overall a great experience and great would definitely stay again.
H.
Family of 4, we got there at 8am after a 12 hour flight, totally frazzled. The manager was so nice, he got our room ready early so we could get in and get some rest. The apartment was nicely decorated, beds were super comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hotel is on a street with a number of decent bakeries and ab walk away from a street with a really nice foodhall. I highly recommend!
G.
Nice clean room quite considering how close to the motorway we are.
The shower drain is in an odd place and floods the bathroom floor. Also there is no where to put soaps in the shower which gets more water over the floor.
Very convenient to K Road and all of the wonderful places to eat!
I'd certainly stat here again.
L.
The hotel is very clean and tidy. Very nice and spacious rooms. Great and central location. Kitchen very well equipped. Friendly and helpful staff. Would 100% recommend and stay here again.
H.
Spacious and big room. Just me staying but could easily accommodate two adults and two kids (on a nice sofa bed). Kitchen area had all the usuals plus a two burner hotplate.
It is right on the motorway (as per hotel photos) but no noticeable noise in room with balcony door shut. I don't see the two chairs and table outside ever being used but maybe super late at night when the cars aren't there.
About 8 mins walk to Ponsonby Road and 6 mins to top of Queen. Works happily stay there again and for longer.
R.
We got an amazing price on two rooms. Well appointed and very comfortable. Room was very clean and nicely presented.
Only downside was parking. The listing showed it had parking, however the parking was at a private car park about a 5 min walk away - the charge was $25 for unlimited entry for 24 hours.
P.
I stayed here alone for business. The front desk staff were excellent, very friendly. The room was good with nespresso coffee machine, capsules and choc bars a nice touch. Great views of the sky tower!! One thing that needs to be changed is to leave the hallway lights on all the time I would prefer and to make the room locks more secure. Great staff!!
T.
Haka Hotel is in an excellent location with easy asess for taxis or ubers to pick up and drop off. The hotel has a great view over the city and to the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodation itself was very clean, tastefully decorated, and very modern, the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and there was a very nice touch with some chocolates and biscuits on the bench for us. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again or to recommend it to other travelers. The price was also great with a late check out time as well. Just awesome well done Haka Hotel.
R.
I booked this hotel because all the reviews said the rooms had double glazing so they were quiet. I’m not sure if the other reviewers were deaf, or blind! There is definitely no double glazing and it’s really noisy. However, at night it wasn’t too intolerable, I was still able to sleep. I love K’Rd so the area gets five stars. The new restaurants and cafes in St Kevin’s Arcade are awesome. This hotel is very good value for money, the rooms are new and well designed. I liked the kitchen and bathrooms.
The staff are inexperienced but they are trying hard to learn good customer service.
My only complaint is that we stayed seven nights and only managed to get our room properly cleaned twice. This was after begging almost every day to have our room at least re-stocked, if cleaning was too hard.
It seems like they use Woofers from the backpackers as cleaners and don’t have an adequate manager supervising them. Certainly some logic needs to be applied to the management of the cleaning roster.
In the end, I went out and bought cleaning products and cleaned the room myself.
I’d stay at Haka again, but maybe only for a shorter visit.
S.
Fantastically equipped, clean and modern with a sort of industrial style - black bathroom fittings, wired glass panels and a huge sliding wood door to the wardrobe. I moved room because the top floor was a bit noisy for me (close to ventilation, but others may not even notice) - the team, especially Molly, couldn't have been more helpful - sorted in a few minutes. Reception staff remember your name and make you feel welcome. Parking isn't on site but only a 5 min walk and there's room to stop when dropping bags. Loads to do nearby - K Road is bustling but fun. Awesome, rare find.
M.
Great value for the money spacious apartment with very handy location (just off K Rd). Rooms are well sound proofed from the traffic noise outside so you can sleep in. Very friendly and helpful staff make for a great stay in Auckland.
M.
Perfect for a stay as it is close to the centre. Good harbour and city views and spacious new rooms. Minor issue our balcony door did not fully seal so particularly on Monday morning you have a background noise from the motorway. Friendly staff and quick check in and check out.
D.
Staff were friendly. We were disappointed with our room servicing. Towels were missed, we didn't get replacement soap, coffee etc each day (we were there four nights) There is a coffee machine in the room but once you have one coffee each after the first day, that's it. You pay for any extras. Why put a coffee machine in the room? Beds were great. Rooms were quiet. We had no complaint with the cleanliness of the room.
C.
After an over night flight, our room being ready a good 5hrs early was a great start!! But that aside, it would still be 5*. Very clean & quiet (late July time), great room size, nice balcony over looking the city and sky tower, fast wi-fi, friendly staff. Lots of reasons to give 5*. It's a roughly 15min walk into the centre too and even closer to lots of places for food. Would definitely stay again!
D.
The room was clean and the hotel was decent. The hotel overlooks the freeway but the rooms are actually soundproofed very well. The staff were friendly. My only gripe with this place is that the parking is a hassle as you will have to either find off-street parking or park in a garage for 25$ per day (unlimited entry). Also another thing to note is that while this hotel is located centrally with a lot of restaurants, you will not find upscale/hip food joints here. We ended up driving to britomart area for that. It really depends on what you are looking for though.
D.
Good and comfortable, but only give one key per room. I decided to come to hotel earlier and my partner had gone to amother event. I couldn't get in and reception wasn't very helpful.
C.
Great place to stay in Auckland! Very good position, cool quarter. Nice apartment, fully equipped. The walls maybe deserve some new painting here and there.
L.
Lovely little gem of a hotel. Not in the CBD but close to shops and restaurants at K road. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were beautifully modern and clean. Only one small problem is that the water from the shower tends to run out and wet the rest of the bathroom. Its a bit of a design flaw I'm hoping the owners will rectify.
V.
Extremely utilitarian rooms. Surprisingly spacious rooms in the heart of Auckland. 10 mins drive to viaduct harbor, plenty of food and nightlife options in walking distance. Fully equipped kitchen. Parking is a bit of a hassle since the hotel does not have its own car park.
B.
Absolutely fantastic hotel! The front desk staff is wonderful, they even left me a bottle of champagne on my birthday with a happy birthday note! Something only a very high-end hotel would do! The room was also super cute and functional, loved the coffee and tea setup. Highly recommended!
S.
this one if he best hotels with a superb view and comfy rooms.
the staff is really very friendly and professional.
the balcony lights might struck your eyes but that has its on glow for the night while viewing the bridge and sky tower.
I will recommend the hotel without a hassle .
and it is situated at the perfect location of the city.
D.
Great central location
Decent room size
Washing machine in room (wierd but very useful)
Bed is firm but comfy
Heatpump
Though our room was being done up when covid hit and it's been put on hold (4 months ago) so there are black marks on wall, random bare plaster, toilet seat loose, elevator light flashing and dirty windows.
Overall we will stay again, but we would request a room that's not half remodelled
M.
Came here when my flight to Christchurch was cancelled at the last minute and they were able to get me a room at 7am where I could finally shower and get situated after a long trip from the USA. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Reception was always helpful and i was able to make the absolute most out of what could have been an unfortunate situation. Thank you!!
N.
I stayed here for the past three weeks and would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Auckland. The rooms are very spacious with a spectacular view of the city. The staff is very responsive and helpful – Any issue I had was resolved right away.
P.
Nice and central. Cool and funky. Staff great. But not really value for money as parking is nearly a kilometre away in one of the most notorious carparks in Auckland and at 25 a night when weekend rate is normally 12 at same place.
D.
Nice room great reception. Rooms neat and clean. Good to have real coffee machine with free pods with bickies and chocolates. Few thing lacking like cable channels onsite parking. Probably bit to much road noise for what looks like a modern hotel.
F.
Nice and modern rooms. Nice floor level shower with a shower head above your head (not a standard in NZ). Location is not far from the CBD and directly at K road with lots of restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, three things on the downside: 1) lots of noise from the motorways right in front of your window - having your door open is no option, 2) they have a nice Nespresso machine but they only give you two capsules and never refill, 3) the check-in process takes forever - we had a group of three checking-in in front of us and it took them about 15 minutes.
K.
My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights in Auckland (2 nights then a few days later we returned for one night) and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff, Yash in particular, were beyond accommodating. he even remembered my name when we came back! We had our one year old with us, and the baby's cot was set up in the room upon arrival. Everything was really clean, spacious, had everything we needed, Yash would arrange taxis for us, helped us store luggage, guided us to destinations nearby.
J.
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Haka Hotel Suites. We spent 3 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. The location is fairly convenient with loads of restaurants nearby though it's about a 20+ minute walk to the harbor, Sky Tower, and other attractions.
R.
Haka Hotel Suites is a lovely place to stay, with modern, comfortable decor and staff who are keen to please. However, I cannot recommend it for people with disabilities. Day Street is a very steep street and my wife had great difficulty making it up to the main road - at least the rip-off taxi service ($40 from the port via an indirect route) and airport shuttles stop at the door. Then, being on a ridge, it's a long downhill walk to the city centre. Fortunately, it was only one dollar to catch the City-Link bus back up to K Road from the shops in Queen Street. Also, she had a little difficulty negotiating the few steps between the lift and reception: we had assistance with luggage to go up but not down on departure. You could see the Auckland Harbour Bridge in the distance from our Harbourview room, but it would more accurately be described as a Freewayview room as that was the dominant sight. And we were unfortunately slugged with a room charge some $100 higher than usual because of a high demand date; it was not worth the price we paid.
S.
A lovely, modern hotel in a great location - really close to K' Road and Ponsonby, and bus stops that can take you to anywhere in Auckland. Rooms have a really modern, clean design. Kitchenette was really well stocked. Reception was friendly and gave us an upgrade after a bad experience with a previous hotel earlier that evening. Definitely recommend anyone staying in Auckland to come to the Haka Hotel!
n.
The room was nice and stocked with amenities. The walls were thick so you could play music on their Bluetooth speakers without the neighbours hearing.
The bathroom was quite good with the only issue being the shower water would sometimes flood over to the toilet area as the shower had no door.
The other downside is the internet connection which only works if you're close to the door otherwise it can't get a signal. Both my partner and I were using the pixel 2 which has not had issues like this anywhere else.
Everything in the hotel felt like it was cheap and probably wouldn't last long or could break easily. This isn't really an issue but just a note.
C.
Good and handy location, very clean and fully equipped industrial style apartments hotel...especially the coffee capsules and famous kiwi chocolate treats are the bonus.
Friendly staff at the reception.
Stayed in a room at level 10 with balcony and harbour bridge + skycity views. 👍
Plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs nearby.
P.
Room was sparkling clean and exactly as pictured. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Location was handy for local bars and restaurants and only 5 mins on the bus to viaduct. Highly recommended. Brilliant value
R.
Very nice. Tasteful decor. Very clean. Crisp sheets. Well equipped kitchen. Friendly staff. NO parking. But for $25 you can get one overnight five minutes walk away.
T.
Pretty nice 👌 for a cheap price love the views. Abit scary being on the 9th floor, So love the black kitchenette and appliances a pity the coffee maker wasn't working..And I could hear my neighbors swearing at 2.30 am in the morning that would be the only down fall.
R.
Great location and a neat and tidy hotel with nice views across the city to the harbour. The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall lovely stay.
R.
I have been a regular patron at the Haka for several years now and I can't think of any reason to change that. I have found it to be very well located, clean well kept with modern and useful amenities in the apartments. Well done to the team at Haka!
C.
Did not love it.
Despite closed balcony door, some noise from the highway came in. Furniture and fitout in general rather cheap.
Wouldn’t stay here again; there have to be better value options in Auckland
N.
Large rooms that are styled fantastically, great location with lots of food and entertainment close by. We recommend Cottos just next to the hotel.
The rooms are fully equipped and the bed comfortable.
Really reasonable and affordable pricing.
A.
Very good. New, clean, helpful staff. Great views of harbour from one side. Good location with great food around, especially Carmen Jones across the road. Only downside is no onsite parking - it's a short walk to the carpark.
S.
Had a great experience at the hotel. All the staff specially Yash, Vidu, Hannah and May were amazing. They guided us a lot for our whole trip for New Zealand which also made us do changes for the trip and made our experience better. My son Vivaan loved all of them. Thank you 😊😊
P.
The Suite we stayed in was large, exceptionally clean and amazing views out to the Harbour bridge and across to the Sky tower. We were in the heart of the shopping and restaurants of K road and Ponsonby. The staff were respectful and polite. We will return .
d.
I love it! Recommended bgt deh buat org INDONESIA. Disini, bukan hanya harganya yg terjangkau. Tp juga kamarnya sesuai dengan apa yang kami beli. Dengan fasilitas wifi unlimited Dan juga masih baru sekali. Dan modern design nya. Bersih. Resepsionisnya juga baik. Kami di beri late check-out hingga jam 1, namun tdk suruh bayar sepeserpun.
Translation:
It's a very clean room. Our family rent a two bedroom and 1 bathroom. The room is worth the price we bought. Amazing price, not so expensive. The room is very clean and comfy. You can also ask to clean your room. They have a excellent (friendly) service and a very new & modern decoration, also facility. The WIFI is unlimited. We was given a late check-out till 1 PM, without charge. We are so happy! Definitely will comeback!
a.
Highly recommended, more than meets the eye. clean, great value for your dollar. As a born kiwi living overseas I brought my Inlaw’s to Nz for their first time, they were extremely comfortable of there apartment... 10 points to Haka Hotel K road..
M.

G.
Amazing value for money so close to the action and good food places, bars, shops. Friendly staff. Great rooms. Only complaint would be lighting on the deck needs an off switch
r.
Fantastic Location, I stay here often for work and it is really close to restuarants, cafes, bus stop, rooms are simple yet clean and comfortable.
K.
We had a really great experience here! Friendly staff and a cheap rate. Beautiful views looking I've the harbour. Central location. All brand new and very modern
E.
Very good, even provide night wear. The only things is no on site parking. Need to walk 5 min to a private parking place, $25 per day unlimited entry.
H.
Perfect view and staff. It was a great time to have a big party. We invited a lots of guest, I’m sure they really enjoyed the party. I highly recommend this hotel.
M.
Gorgeous views, lovely staff, great rooms with cooking facilities.
Not too far from the main shops in the city, not too far by bus or a 20 minute or so walk.
P.
Beautiful room. Well laid out. Great view from the balcony looking out towards the harbour bridge. Would recommend this place to anyone
T.
Very good accommodation option in central city. Impressive noise proofing in the rooms given it is just off K road. Nice to see a hotel that takes advantage of local services (e.g. Uber eats) rather than just offer the standard crappy/expensive hotel stuff
N.
Haka Hotel is a must to stay if in Central Auckland, Beautiful clean rooms, nicely priced, Amazingly quiet rooms for a peaceful night sleep or watch the action of K Rd from the balcony, bonus is the awesome friendly staff, definitely worth the five stars
K.
Room was tidy, kitchenette had a good selection of appliances and kitchen tools, room was really well soundproofed and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again!
B.
Excellent stay, a gem of a view especially at night and the service was great. We were allowed to check in reaaaaaly early because we had an overnight flight.
Tonnes of freebees such as an expresso maker with pods.
M.
I loved the place! Great staff, the room was equipped with everything we needed. And K Road is a very nice place to stay in Auckland.
S.
Very good service and amenities. Clean room and decently furnished - looks nice but feels a little cheap. Overall good value for your money
G.
Clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful but ventilation system is loud and could not be turned off so constant background noise during the night
L.
Clean, spacious and lovely view from the 10th floor
N.
Perfect location & super nice staff! Apartment style hotel that I am loving so far! Only thing missing is a pool and a gym.
S.

(Translated) Very comfortable hotel and all staff are very friendly and helpful.
It is in a good location and is close to restaurants, shops, shops and several bus stops, including the special charter that takes you to and from the airport.
The decor of the room is minimalist, yet modern and very beautiful! We took a balcony room which had a wonderful view of the city as well as being equipped with a mini kitchen, which helped a lot to prepare meals in the room itself.
