N.Great service and staff at reception! Beds are very comfy, clean rooms, close to the motorway and restaurants and loved the pool. loved our stay! Will be back :)
M.Stayed one night after nearby social function. Comfortable accommodation at reasonable rate. Room was clean. Had a firidge, basic crockery and cutlery, and free wi-fi. Also had a TV which was not working. A request for it to be fixed produced no apparent action. Free guest parking.
C.It was a great stay for a last minute one. The photos on there are not the room we stayed in. However it was clean and the staff well are very kind and helpful and it was nice place to stay and we all enjoyed it.
a.Lovely experience. Felt lugubrious so had to have a bottle of wine and sit outside.

C.Was okay, rooms dated and a little dirty but price was cheap. Has a swimming pool too. Downside was it's used as emergency accomodation and when we stayed there were cops and quite a bit of ruckus

M.We stayed in an annexe. I would describe it as tired. Beds were comfortable and linen was clean. The room itself could have done with a thorough clean or even better, refurbishing. There was mould around the bath, dusty window sills cobwebs on the ceiling, toilet seat was loose and the tv remote didn't work.
On the plus side, the staff were lovely and the pool looked inviting. The area is busy at night as there is a bar next door and it's on a busy road, so not that great if you need peace and quiet.
I wouldn't choose to stay here again on balance.
C.The staff were friendly. The room was quite nice and clean. Other young guests were the one thing that upset our stay. They appeared to be a part of a sports team. They were running up and down the verandah being very loud, one member banged on our door at night and someone was calling loudly banging on all their doors in the morning to get them up..They had no self discipline

The hotel is looking a bit sad & rundown but clean & tidy with a functioning hot shower tv & fully self contained & now boasts a heat pump🙂
Reasonable rates at $150 a night with the Backyard Bar close by for dinner & or drinks
Lovely friendly & helpful staff at both places which made for an enjoyable stay

R.If you have kids and need to stop on your way through Auckland this is the place! The pool is a bit old and paint worn but it's big and always buzzing with kids having a blast. They love it! The spa is the same, a bit worn and not so hot but the kids LOVE it. The facilities are clean and well kept but again, a little worn. There's a playground for little ones and takapuna is just 5 minutes drive away. Honestly if you're not pretentious this place rocks.
P.Stayed here for 8 nights in late September. Rooms abit outdated. Staff at reception were wonderful. Beds were so comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water and pressure. I would definitely stay again. So easy to get to North Shore hospital.
K.Good location and close to amenities. It does have a pool, bar, and places to eat, but being so close to the bar can be a bit noisy for sleeping. The front doors of the rooms looked a bit like a prison block, and the room I was in was very basic. There is attractive art on the walls. It was fairly clean, except for some mould in grouting in the bathroom, rust patches from old fittings and a broken light shade full of dead moths.The Wi-Fi was not reliable enough to watch videos, but would be ok if you're only checking email. The beds are good; comfortable, if a bit rumpled (I prefer to sleep on a flat sheet).
I admit to feeling a little unnerved that the room had walls that met at not quite right angles.
A basic motel, not a 4-star hotel.
A.Great playground for our kids, both showers had good pressure and the linen was clean. We enjoyed the location next to the bar and wasn't bothered about the noise. Unfortunately one of the bathrooms flooded when we showered. The king bed was also 2 singles pushed together which meant there was a dip in the middle.
V.Great value for money. Short drive to city centre and very close to takeaways and groceries. The beds are comfy, spacious rooms and the shower was amazing, the water pressure is what dreams are made of! The staff are very friendly and helpful. And to top it all off there is a beautiful refreshing swimming pool.
R.Even though this place is in need of some investment and some TLC, it's still a great spot to stay at and good value for a family. The beds were comfy & clean, though didn't have mattress protectors so may not stay that way. The pool was cool but we still enjoyed it. The Indian restaurant adjoining the rooms was excellent. Also the pinball machines in Hells pizza were a lot of fun too. Very handy for the motorway.

M.This Hotel is one of the best on the north shore of Auckland.
It is very family oriented and close to many restaurants and takeout stores McDonald's, burger king and many others.
Close to both motorway on ramps north and south .
My girls and me had such the best time there as they also have a swimming pool and spa pool as well as a bar and restaurant right next to them and they also have family day events there as well.
G.Room was clean & well presented. Friendly staff. Only issue was room being next to bins so was bit noisy. Otherwise nice stay.
A.Really friendly and welcoming staff! Awesome that it's close to the motor way! Surrounding restaurants were nice. Loud music from bar as it was St Patrick's day but all other nights were good. Good facilities with clean and tidy rooms. Thank you!
h.Stayed here 52 years ago..1st honeymoon night. Now live in Waikato but visiting North Shore friends and family so chose here to stay. It's situated in a great position as not far from many eateries and the northern motorway. Only a studio room but more than adequate for what we need. Would definite stay here again.

L.Hotel needs a makeover but otherwise lovely hotel with a great location and the best part of it all is the lovely Rhi at reception Wow amazing lady.and we would come back again because of the amazing service from Rhi. We needed a room last minute for my son's birthday and she went out if her way to make sure we were happy with the room before we took it so no further inconvenience was caused to our weekend away for my son's birthday. Thank you so much for being such a beautiful human being. A true woman if great strength

P.Very nice room. Bed extremely comfortable with nice sheets and pillows and bathroom shower was very distinct open style with outstanding water pressure and great towels. This room was a complete bargain for the price I paid. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A.Back door in our room didn't lock so we didn't want to keep all our belongings there when we went out, should leaked through the seal and soaked my clothing. The doors are white heavy due to the sound proofing so you can hear every door close from the two rooms next to you and the one above
Good location with a bar and pool out the back door, the room is almost sound proof so the sound of the bar and people swimming won't disturb you.
3 single beds in one room with an ok kitchen
Didn't test the air conditioning but a small fan was in the room to help beat the heat
The rooms are good for a one or two nighter but if you are thinking of staying longer the "Jade room" is your best bet .
Jade room - 3 singles and one double all in the same room with an adequate kitchen and a good bath room with a nice view of the aukland traffic.
I give this hotel a 3 out of 5 as some of the issues should be fixed asap like the door and shower door, I have told the owners of the problem and I do hope they fix it

N.ROZ is the lady to go to.
She always goes above and beyond to accommodate me my needs.
The rooms are excellent priced, location is brilliant and don’t hear road noise from rooms.
Family friendly.
Just ask her what you need she has a way to make it happen, Simply the best to stay, I have stayed at other more expensive Hotels and yet ROZ service and the running of the is superior.
For example.
I have stayed at The Big motel on the corner of shackspear road, $ charged me $280, per night, I stayed there for the 3 months and it was hurendous service..it cost $10 per 1 small load of washing. Internet was $30 per day.
Food was awful. So and so much more! (As an example), however the food at the the poemano restaurant is fairly priced, and extremely excellent and the wine is cheap!
I can not fault this motel, they always say buyer be aware.
I am a lawyer and have a psychical disability, ROZ in my view makes the Poenamo superior!
I have recommended colleges and friends and always ask for ROZ and they have also been extremely impressed.
I can’t fault his motel any higher!

T.The Poenamo Hotel was ok. Parking was limited. There are no Do Not Disturb signs. The reception is not 24 hours. The room I stayed in (the Jade room) was big. Wi-fi was really weak. The TV didn't work. Our doorknob was broken. At least you can get a decent sleep with their somewhat soft pillows.
p.Very clean and safe
D.It was clean and comfortable. Heater didn't work very well and the shower had super pressure that flooded the bathroom! Easy access to food and restaurants, convenient location for me.
B.I booked this Hotel as I found this very close to the Auckland University of Technology. Overall okay hotel, but the pictures shown in expedia are more clean and bright than in reality.

S.My parents have stayed here numerous times to visit me. I live close by. In the summer this place is almost always full. There's nothing else in the area better other than the new Ferns but that's also much more expensive.
J.No view. Ants everywhere and even got into my luggage. A water pocket on the wall that actually burst when I touched it. Bed was comfy. Great restaurant close by

T.Great staff, was there as a contractor doing a Fire System inspection on a hot day in a black uniform, the Backyard Bar staff could see i was roasting and got me a nice cool non alcoholic beverage, keeping me hydrated and working.
Thats the sign of good people.
