This is my favourite place to stay in Auckland by far. If you’re returning from overseas this place with take you back and bring you home. It is your classic kiwi older style building with all the charm. Everything here is charming, the buildings, the staff and the location. Even the neighbours are charming (the elderly man across the road ran over to help my daughter lift her suitcase ☺️ then introduced us to the neighbourhood cat George who acts like he owns the place, as in all of Ponsonby) ALL are super friendly. The breakfast is fantastic and I constantly eat out for lunch so am a bit hard to please, it’s excellent a real treat. I’ve just returned from Queensland (post quarantine) with just my iPad and had some work to do that was fine they’ve got a laptop, fax printer etc. There are little treats everywhere, great spot to shopping and the best restaurants and a walkway and park right next door. All of the staff are a delight, honestly cute as punch. It’s a gem.

The place is absolutely charming and nicely done. We loved to stay there for a couple nights before renting a camper. The rooms are clean and nice and for breakfast you have different options to choose from - all freshly prepared for you.
We can recommend the place to stay! Also, the location was easily reachable and safe to stay.

Stayed here last week. Wonderful welcome. Creative decor, clean and comfortable.
Great location in Ponsonby.
Superb full breakfast included. Priced competitively. I will return.

Characterful and comfortable B&B in a quiet location, within walking distance of the city centre and plenty of restaurants. Lovely breakfast each day and cheerful and easy going host. The studios were private and well equipped.

The breakfasts here were excellent. Daniella was wonderful as well. Here in March, with windows open, no A/C is needed. Highly recommended.
great location. i booked the wrong day, but they fixed it no problem.

Very cozy clean quirky comfortable quiet B&B full of art in the hip Ponsonby section of Central Auckland, in a safe residential street, very walking distance close to restaurants and coffee shops. The breakfasts here were excellent. Daniella was wonderful as well. Here in March, with windows open, no A/C is needed. Highly recommended.

We booked a couple of rooms for a few nights in July and were not disappointed. Gerry and Sally couldn't be lovelier hosts. Put a full proper breakfast out for me for a v early start on my last morning. We absolutely loved this place and will book again the next time we are in Auckland.

A truly wonderful place to stay in Auckland. The rooms are wonderful peaceful havens filled with Pacific and Kiwi art. I am working and Sally and Jess make it possible for me to have breakfast very early We love the art and the politics. A lovely building with special hosts.

Lovely, relaxed and friendly- almost B&B style. Decor and rooms very classy! Great quiet location close to the city, easy walking to a range of dining options.

The rooms are eclectic, staff are very friendly and helpful. The hosts are well travelled themselves and were able to offer an amazing range of information and insight to guests. You might just get so cozy and conformtable you won't want to get out and do all the touristy things in your planner.

A wonderful place to stay during the World Cup. In the end, you get what you pay for, and this B & B is great value for money. We met ***y interesting people and there was always a lot of conversation with different guests and the hotel …

We arrived tired from our overnight flight at 8am (early) and Sally made us feel at home right away. The proprietors are a marvelous source of information about how to go about doing and seeing what suits. We liked their attitude to sustainability. The Breakfast fare is superb and carried us ***y times well into the day.

The location is excellent and meant we could easily wander in the best part of Auckland. There is a park with playground equipment immediately behind the b & b where our kids played very happily. There are several very fine restaurants within walking distance, ***y of which feature live music.
T.
The hosts are lovely and will help in any way they can with planning your day. The staff is helpful and provides good advice on what to see and do. Good facilities in the rooms. The location is superb. I guess it felt too pricey and over hyped for us.

We were given a room placed in something I would call a furnished garage. The service is fantastic and we stay here everytime we come to Auckland. The breakfasts are wonderful. We enjoyed staying in a genuine Auckland neighborhood as opposed to a commercial hotel, and would happily return.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. We've stayed here twice. Some of the rooms are quirky but both were comfortable. Highly recommended for a low-key, relaxed stay with easy walk to many restauratnts.

Oh my goodness, love this place. Very friendly, fabulous room with private bath, balcony and most delicious breakfast with dine-in or out options. Just a short walk up the street and you are among all the shopping, dining or bar experience you could ask for. Awesomeness!!!

We had every thing you could want when away from home and most importantly the room was clean, very clean. Nice people all. We ate breakfast on the terrace the following day, were able to leave the car free of charge and then set off on our wanderings in the direction that Hugh had suggested.

I loved this quirky hotel. It has a friendly welcoming atmosphere and was helpful when we arrived much before check in time. Even the resident cat, George, made us welcome. Very comfortable and nice to be in.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Great Ponsonby Arthotel. Thay are persoinable and the location is superb. I could talk about the beautiful heritage home with beautiful pieces of art inspired by the Pacific Islands. The lovely 19th …

Our kids were next door in a slightly smaller twin room. I met all sorts of interesting people there. The Great Ponsonby Art Hotel represents the very best of Ponsonby with a restored Ponsonby Villa and an incredible location on a quiet no exit street only a short walk away from all that Ponsonby Road has to offer.
T.
Have stayed here a number of times and you can't beat it for location. There is very little on site parking but we were able to find a spot on the street. Sally and Gerry are wonderfully congenial hosts who are always ready to arrange things for you and provide you with good advice on what to see and do in New Zealand.
T.
The location is goodjust a short walk up the hill to catch the Link tram into the city. The food in Ponsonby is tremendous and the ***y restaurants are so close to the B and B. The airport service provided by Uncle is outstanding. A weekend etched in our minds forever, thanks for the best weekend ever David and Cheryl.
T.
I could talk about the great location of the Great Ponsonby Arthotel. A glorious setting whatever the purpose of your trip. By the way, they are perfect hosts. The husband and wife who ran the B&B were friendly and helpful giving us ideas as to where to stop off.

This is an absolute hidden gem. Everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel but with a personal twist, like staying a a friend's house. Even the breakfast is made just for you and was included in the room rate. You have to stay here!

Perfect location to relax in the city, lovely breakfast, 2 minutes walk for shopping, good restaurants around the corner, perfekt 15 minutes walk to the sailing harbour - and a good service inkl. airport shuttle. Thanks for all!
T.
Its location in Ponsonby was handy for taking the Inner City bus route from the top of the road. The oqners know the city extremely well and share insiders ideas. The weather was terrible so it was good to be able to retreat to our comfy room and blob out.
