i stayed here for 3 days, room was very good on ground floor room 717 awesome room ,nice and cool ,would stay here again, not far to western springs stadium, it has a queen bed and a single bed,a little kitchen, no stove ,has microwave, jug,toaster, electric frying pan,plates, cups,glasses, cutlery, has wardrobe to hang clothes with clothes hangers and a iron and ironing board inside wardrobe and a nice size shower room and you can park outside room ,they have a restaurant and bar,highly recommend this hotel

Friendly staff but sadly the food has always been midrange here. For the prices charged I expect a better food quality, including burger patties for example that are cooked through. Personal choice I guess but I've never felt the need to shout from the rooftops...

Went to the Surrey pub, although the kitchen was closed the service was amazing, we could choose our own drinks and the atmosphere was amazing. We missed the beginning of the movie but was still a great night, will need to visit again when the kitchen is open, can't wait to try the woodfire pizza.

Lovely place to stay. Very central to the city and Western Springs Stadium. Staff are very efficient and friendly. it's like home away from home. Will stay here again next time I'm in Auckland. Toni McIntosh.

Nice deck to have a drink on. Didn't eat or stay here but looks fine. Good happy hour 4 to 6.30pm, only two tap beers, Moa, but at $6.50 at happy hour and $8 normally for a handle great value in the local area.

An amazing spot if your want something to eat or a place to sleep. I have been here about 40 times as it's the place I go when I'm working in Auckland. I highly recommend this hotel, rooms are excellent, a heated pool in the middle of the hotel and amazing food. The bar tenders are very friendly and always keen on a chat if you're wanting that. Absolutely love the Surrey hotel and Im happy to call it my second home, or Auckland home.

Clean and tidy units. Stayed in the motel across from main one. We were on bottom unit some one in one above and whenever they walked across floor, creaking floorboards which woke me up during night. Restaurant meals wonderful and value for money.

Love The Surrey. It's an old fashioned, english hotel but the rooms are more modern. I've stayed here on 3 occasions, twice in the standard rooms (very nice for 2) and then this time in the deluxe room. I was quite nervous as some reviews said they smelt like mould. We didn't have that problem. The room was nice and roomy, clean, comfortable and a nice large flat screen. Little things I didn't like was there's no hot chocolate sachets just tea and coffee and only 2 towels for the 4 of us. This was fine as we just asked for 2 more towels anyway and we'll hot chocolate sachets is a bonus. Not sure how the wifi works as we weren't given anything or any info about it (but I didn't ask either). Also the ute that was parked outside our window was a little annoying when they left early and returned again which is why I request a higher level but maybe there were no rooms higher? Nothing big that would deter me from this hotel. The two biggest points why I come back is because of the heated pool (but was cooler than the last two times I came) and the receptionist has always been very friendly! I'm not sure if the spa would be back up and running as I see it hasn't been available for awhile which is another reason I love this hotel. I definitely will be back sometime but probably when I travel with my family as I love me a spa.

Great value old fashioned roomy hotel/motel. 24hr concierge. Recently renovated and not used for housing the homeless. Excellent free parking. Great in-house bar and restaurant serving excellent pizzas. Good balanced menu.

We weren't expecting much other than a long wait as there was only 1 chef. But, it wasnt long at all! He was faster than most other restaurants we've been to. We're big eaters, so, we ordered alot & we were delighted with each dish that was served. The portion sizes were above average. The atmosphere was quiet, comfortable & laxy. The prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend the restaurant & I'd definitely return.

Whenever I stay in Auckland I stay at the Surrey. Great spot, very well priced and clean. The staff are friendly, helpful and the bar is good for a beer and a meal. What more can you ask for?

Looking for a warm cozy spot for a meal on a Monday night, we called in to the Surrey pub & restaurant. Often driven past but we had never called in. It looks like it is the house bar for the rest of the hotel complex , but is actually a stand alone business. Entry is via a covered bridge into a warm and surprisingly large area. It's very "English" in approach. Like a street in a village. But with carpet and lounge chairs. And a dining area. The friendly staff looked a bit surprised to have guests, but quickly roused from their quiet night and provided great service. The food - especially the pasta with chorizo that I had - was very tasty and big servings that we only just managed to finish. With Moa beer on tap, good food and a very different decor to take in, the Surrey was a pleasant and often overlooked surprise. Worth calling into.

We had my mum's 86th birthday lunch there yesterday 21/6/20 & from the time we walked into the bar area until we left 3 hours later it was absolutely fabulous! The food was delicious & also came with a desert which the kids loved, will definitely be visiting again :)

Our stay was from 26th May to 28th. The service was great. The staff went over and beyond with a satisfying service. The room was very clean and provided everything we needed. The only feedback I would suggest is the length of time for dinning at the restaurant. We had a party of 15-16 for dinner, so our meals took at least 50 minutes to be served. Then the dessert another 40 minutes, bit long but they only had one chef. Perhaps more staff to assist when big party of guests for dinner. Overall I commend the service and the staff , we thoroughly enjoyed our stay from Wellington. I will definitely use them again and would refer my friends and family to stay there. Kind regards

Great tidy rooms good staff and the food is delicious the chef is amazing and works miracles under pressure on his own in the kitchen. The front of house staff are wonderful too. Come stay or just come to try the great atmosphere and great food.

Love staying here. the room I stayed in this time was clean and presented nicely although was a little tired and the bed was a little hard and uneven. It needs to be sound proofed as you could here the traffic noise and as anywhere the other guests are never considerate about the noise they make. the staff are all lovely and so helpful and welcoming. The gentleman that was on when we arrived at nearly midnight was so friendly and accommodating. will definitely stay here again. the time before I stayed, was across the road In the section that has been revenerated, and they were great, just needed more sound proofing too. would really love it if they could serve breakfast, didn't ask but couldn't find any information about breakfast being served.

We were in the motel units across the road. Our room was decent sized, modern, and clean. Plus it's well located with local shops a short walk away. A bit noisy from the upstairs neighbours, but overall it was very good.

everything was amazing. didn’t have the pleasure of going to the restaurant but the room was lovely. Only thing was someone had turned off the heating in the pool. It was freezing. I loved it though. Keep up the good work

My family and I always enjoy our stay. Day staff were wonderful. The room this time and last time were across the road and were a bit tired and could do with a make over. Soundproofing was poor and late at night there was a fair bit of noise from the speedway and the pub.

My wife and myself were very impressed, it was very quaint and relaxed, home away from home, the food was devine, a very lovely menu, reasonably priced, relaxed atmosphere when having dinner and breakfast.The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much for them. The room was clean and homely. I would go back and stay again and will be telling my friends and family to go there. Keep up the great service guys!!!

Our family of 4 stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 weeks over the Christmas period EXCELLENT HOSPITALITY! Worth what we paid for, they would fuss over us but we were happy to be self sufficient. Comfy beds, good water pressure, AC, pool - food if we were too tired to go out. Highly reccomend if you want to feel like your in your own serviced apartment. Close to everything! But still nice aand quiet, our apartment was by the main rd but still quiet. Will definitely be back again. Basic TV and Wifi but not a necessity for the nature of our stay, but it's there if you need .

Great place for drinks. Didn't try the food, but may when the weather gets colder. Menu seemed a bit heavy. Awesome dining room. Nice building.

A good, "upper middle range" hotel with friendly, and very competent staff. The only weak spot was the attitude of the chef, who didn't seem to enjoy his work.

I always looked forward to returning to my room after a long day out. Wallpaper was peeling from the walls and it was generally run down. Room clean and tidy. Shower pressure was good. Staff were very helpful. Road can be a bit noisy but thats to be expected in Auckland.

Nice place and very central. I felt welcome even though I stayed a long time. Couple of coffees and a scone later and my meeting was done.

Room renovations are great. Only downside was the noise. You can hear everything your neighbours do, the loud bangs from people's doors shutting. And you'll get all the Carpark noise too as people come and go. A noisy location at all hours but great location.

Ordered the Sunday roast. Large, suitable portion. Not personally keen on breast meat and the chicken roasts appeared to be all the front half. Complimentary ice-cream Sunday was nice

Have just had the most amazing experience staying at the surrey hotel this weekend. The quirky quaint hotel and restaurant is warm and welcoming with its exquisitely divine menu and fabulous staff. I highly recommend you take time out to stay there. Ten out of ten in all categories. Will definitely be returning.

The room was clean and comfortable and surprisingly 'modern. The exterior of the hotel is quaint and the public areas are dated but service was friendly, food was nice and facilities all you need.

Was only there for a course in the conference rooms. Staff was excellent service was excellent, the lunch provided was great. Highly recommend.

I have been here a number of times using one of the conference rooms for business meetings and presentations.good staff help. clean venue.Up stairs in the bar good bar cosy feeling great meals roast pork and chicken.They have sky tv watch the sports while eating.

The food was very good and the rooms were pretty spacious as well. One more negative point would be that one room only gets a certain amount of Wi-Fi a day but it's still enough. All in all still very positive :)

The place is alright, but could be more tidier with the towels and all as it look grey, no sky tv provided, for reception u have to cross the road for the other building

The room is very clean and decent size. Staff are very friendly. Pool is beautifully temperatured and clean. Nice and close to the city. Plenty of parking. Has a gym and spa aswell. We are trying the restuarant tonight and expect it will be just as good.

Some units are older style but really good location

The bed was amazingly comfortable and room clean. However, the room needs a complete make over and modernising, as I guess most of the hotel does (an eclectic mix of styles and furniture of the past 5 decades) but everything was clean.

Would not go there again the only best part was the restaurant

I stay at the surrey once a month, as i am on a course. To date I have always found the staff to be friendly, helpful, chatty an nothing is too much trouble for them I would recommend surrey hotel to others. Thanks for asking. Diane Edwards

A pretty decent hotel located close to Auckland CBD and main road for easy access . They have all the facilities including pub, restaurant, meeting, wedding halls and rooms for staying.

Rooms were good and service nice, the chicken Caesar salad was way too salty for my liking, less bacon more veges!

This place is incredible. It's clean, the staff are great. It's got a great vibe. There's a decent indoor pool. There's a GYM. The restaurant/pub food is amazing. Best burger I've had all year, made to my liking thanks to our terrific waiter (top knot French guy) . We just came from a motel that could only be described as a meth den, we lost more than $300 on a 3 night deal because we checked out and hour later. To then get 3 nights here for less than $300 just completely flipped my mood around. It makes me so happy to know this will be the last place we stay on our 2 week holiday here. Couldn't of picked a better place. If I could give 6 stars I would ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Spacy rooms , everything clean, free parking spaces. Well euqipped rooms with fridge, micro wave, hair dryer and a liitle " bar". The check in was very comfortable, we received a room 2 hours prior to the official check in. There is a good Restaurant at the hotel which provides fresh, excellent food. There is also an option for a buffet breakfast. The only issue we had: it takes quite long until hot water comes out of the shower. All in all with very friendly staff a pleasant stay.

An excellent old-fashioned hotel/motel with real guest parking included. Bar, restaurant, pool, spa, local parks and close to the city centre with a bus service right outside. I recommend the Surrey Hotel.

Great place, lovely clean modern studio room, pretty good food. Found the decor hilariously kitsch and the Hotel Cat is absolutely charming.

Great joke teller behind the counter. I didnt catch his name but we sure did get a warm and hilarious entrance to our late night stay here. Not sure what time we arrived but it sure was late and they were more than happy to have us for the night.

Booked at midnight a room for the family with two beds under $NZD140 just 7min drive to CBD, very friendly staff with decent rooms with modern decor and finishings. Kitchenette to boot with parking space right outside room. Couldn't ask for better service, convenience or value.

Great place. But really need a pedestrian crossing on the road for people on the sub building to get to the main building for breakfast and check out.

*I am rating the Surrey as a function venue.* Very easy people to work with - obliging, caring, flexible. Food prepared and served to an extremely high standard; our guests were wow-w-ed. Vegetarian, vegan = no problem. Superb all round. The accommodation is clean too.

It is very Victoria Style from outside and some part is very modern. I like it. There is a real surrey outside the hotel.

Attended a seminar at this establishment. The morning tea was late arriving and then they didn't provide enough hot water for the coffee dispenser. A bit dated and average could not really care attitude from the staff.

This hotel has always been a favourite whenever I'm visiting its the GO TO HOTEL forget the rest. The hotel staff from cleaning to reception are super friendly and thank you Ann for assisting me with my umpteen queries and a replacement laptop to use. GM the hotels cat was even at the stairs to greet me and found his way to the foyer when I was leaving. My room was large, clean and quiet - a great 2 nights sleep well invested with meetings the following days proving to be very successful. The hoteL restaurant food is yummy and my diet always goes out the door when I'm dining here. The location of the hotel is great - Countdown 2 mins away,takeaway bars, hair salons - all close by. So thankyou again to all the Staff and GM ( hotels cat ) for always delivering that extra special service.

Handy to CBD by car. Clean indoor heated pool with glass atrium roof. Has a bar/Restraunt. Our 2 bedroom family accomodation was clean, appointed with all the basics but was dated & NO HEATING OR COOLING (!) We visited in summer, it was tolerable but aircon would be welcome. The floor fan in the room was inoperative (!) I would hate to think what it would be like in winter? The rooms are spread over 4 buildings on 2 separate properties (!) The elevator light was inoperative - ride in the dark (!)

Visited the Surrey pub for a team dinner. Service was great, food was delicious and loved meeting the General Manager, the resident cat. Highly recommended!

Awesome staff and location

Ive been staying at the Surrey for over 9 years.. I think. The place always had character and now with the refurbishment..it has made it, that much more palatable for the weary traveller. There are a couple of minor things I think need attention...like the... nah..I'll raise it with management on the quiet- first ..can't have you idle critics picking over the bones...now can we...lol
