The best hostel for me in New Zealand. The rooms are large and beautiful. All common areas are very clean. And the price is very reasonable! I really recommend it and will be happy to come back if I go back to New Zealand. Thank you for everything.

Really nice and peaceful. No constant music playing! 💚 The best night’s sleep I’ve had in NZ. Good, clean facilities. Especially liked the massive kitchen/dining room – loads of space to cook and eat. My only suggestion would be to maybe fit some shelves in the bathrooms to place your things; that’d be pretty handy.

One of the best Backpackers I've stayed in so far. Really professional staff, modern and sophisticated house, always cleaned, beautiful view on the park and the sky tower from the balcony. There have a car park and it's close to everything (Auckland central, bar, restaurant, Countdown...).

This is a great hostel. Clean, comfortable, great location, large lounge spaces to hang out, big kitchen, gorgeous outdoor space too. 👍👍

Very good location with a nice view of the city (sky tower) from the veranda. Cozy lounge areas, good size kitchen and clean bathrooms. Some parts of the house are under repair possibly due to expansion. The lodge is just next to Western Park and trendy Ponsonby. There's Countdown (grocery), food hall nearby and restaurants along Ponsonby. One of the best hostels to stay at if you want to be close enough to the city without being in the overly crowded city centre. Excellent customer service as well.

Really nice hostel close to the central of Auckland but not too close. It's not as busy as on Queen Street which I really liked. Nice view and easy access to a park. Rooms are small and clean as well as the bathrooms. Stuff is nice and there is also a big countdown nearby.

A really nice place for starting or ending a trip to New Zealand. The friend is very friendly and helps a lot with everything. The rooms don't have bunk beds and some are really big which is nice. When you sit outside you have a nice look into the park so it doesn't feel like being in a big city at all. The facilities are very clean and the kitchen has a decent size for the number of beds. The bus stop is just around the corner and it is only a 15 minute bus ride to town.

The two very beautiful old houses overlooking the Park which form the Backpackers are clean and stylish. The staff is great (they obviously have been around quite a lot). The gorgeous Kauri ramp of the staircase leading to my room is difficult not to caress and the room itself is perfectly clean with comfy bedding. An ideal place to recover from the long flight from Europe, it is also more or less half an hour's walk from the harbour and the waterfront on which it has commanding views.

What can I say... What a great place ! Everything is super clean and the location is really lovely. They have a huge community area where you can cook or just relax. If you wish you can also just chill in the nice big garden outside. We had a double room and it was fantastic. I can only recommend this place ! It is even quite near to the Eden Park Stadium.

Really lovely hostel in charming building. The rooms are big, the backyard view is amazing and the host are lovely. Recommend for short or long term stay!

Perfect hostel to start and finish my New Zealand adventure. It's right in Ponsonby. CBD is in walking distance, but for food, drinks and shopping you actually don't need to leave the neighborhood.

For me the best hostel in Auckland. You don't have the feeling youre in a big city. Awesome owner and manager. Great clean rooms, kitchen and showers. Really good beds. Just perfect.

Best Hostel I ever been! Great accomodation with a big Kitchen and rest/chilling area. The team was very nice and gave me all the informations I needed to continue my travel. Definitely the best hostel in Auckland 💙

Nice, clean rooms, large kitchen, several common rooms, functional and simple bathrooms. They have only gender-mixed rooms normally, so tell at booking if you want one! Big supermarket nearby, be sure to visit Posonby Rd for eating and shopping as well as the magnificent Western Park right next to the hostel!

--The bed was very comfortable. --Friendly and helpful staff. --There was a heater in the room (needs to be reset every 90 min). --Towels provided, but no shower gel/bar soap though hand soap is available. --Shower was a bit messy when ppl didn't clean up after themselves. Bring shower shoes. --Chargers and adapters available for some devices. --Nice full kitchen area; avail for cooking. --Green space available in the backyard. --Lounge/library available. --Great neighborhood: lots of reasonably priced cafes and restaurants; near a park. --Easy access to public transportation including 10-15 min walk to $18 SkyBus to/from the airport.

Absolutely amazing hostel in a hip part of town! Super friendly and helpfull staff! The rooms are so spacious that we rather felt like beeing in a hotel. Everything is tidy and hygienic. Highly reccomended!

My "go-to" hostel in Auckland! Very cozy, clean, well kept facilities, a gorgeous old Victorian house turned upscale hostel. Comfortable beds and always clean, spotless linen. Towels are provided and bathrooms are private! Huge, well stocked kitchen. Location in Auckland's Freemans Bay is perfect! The hostel overlooks a quiet park and is just steps from bustling Ponsonby Road. The best part: the wonderful views of Auckland Sky Tower right from the back porch -- they're what gave Verandahs its name! Grocery stores, cafes, coffee shops, yoga, pilates, eateries, and boutique stores all walkably closeby. SkyBus stop only a 15 minute walk, but just ask Verandahs staff (Lorraine and Campbell are super friendly and eager to help you) about airport shuttles.

Nice clean and cosy place. It was so much silence at night that I'd wake up at the slightest sound. Kinda difficult to reach by public transport unless you get a shuttle directly grill airport to hostel.

Great hostel for backpackers, you meet lot's of interesting people. Perfect place to start your new Zealand trip. The managers will help you as much as they can to start your trip in the best conditions!

Great hostel, big kitchen, super friendly and helpful owner. Clean and comfortable. Could be a bit quieter with some of the heavy doors depending on what room you're in.

We made an error in our reservation and Cambell was extremely helpful to us at a late hour of the night to accommodate us for the night. We greatly appreciated his efforts on behalf of the lodge to take us in. We would definitely return, and we'll make sure we don't mess up our reservation next time!

Cozy backpackers with mostly friendly staff. Quite close to the central district but usually quiet. Has musical instruments for guests to play with. It's well kept and clean.

I like this place. The location is excellent. It is clean and the staff has a good approach towards the guests. The organization of the kitchen is the best I’ve seen in a hostel. Simple, clean and well structured. I use to sit outdoors having my dinner. On the photo is my grandsons “tomte” standing by the bottle of beer.

Great location, 2 min away from a countdown and ponsoby street. Very friendly staff, especially the manager who will help you through your first steps in New Zealand like opening a bank account or getting your IRD number. Would reccomend and book again !
