Couldn't ask for a more beautiful venue for our wedding ceremony. The peace and tranquility of Warblers Retreat makes you feel so at ease, away for the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and nature. Barb and Dave are the most loveliest, genuine people and to have Barb be our celebrant was such an honour. Warblers wouldn't be Warblers without them. Our day was perfect. Would recommend without a second thought. Thank you Barb and Dave at Warblers for making our day so special and perfect xx

In light of the Lockdown restrictions in place we needed to cancel our original wedding venue and come up with plan B three weeks leading to our wedding date. We did our research online and came across Warblers Retreat. We were impressed with the web images of the picture perfect Canopy surrounded by nature. We made contact with the lovely Barb from Warblers Retreat who to our relief confirmed Warblers Retreat was available on our planned wedding date. Barb confirmed a date for us to view the venue prior to confirming the booking. Barb was very approachable and friendly during the viewing and made us both feel relaxed with our wedding planning. The Canopy in person looked quite stylish with the décor and features, Barb is also a Celebrant and we were very happy to have her as our wedding celebrant. Leading up to our wedding day, Barb's communication via email correspondence was fast and efficient. The process of planning and organizing a wedding can be quite hard with uncertainty about the restrictions in place, but with Barb's assistance we got through it in the end and had our wedding go ahead. Owners Barb and Dave at Warblers Retreat are both lovely and keep the venue in excellent condition and this is evident in the beautiful well maintained landscape. Barb made a beautiful flower bouquet for me on the day and buttonholes as well. Luckily it was a bright sunny day on our wedding day. We made most of our day taking photos with a lot of different backdrops around Warblers Retreat. We would highly recommend Warblers Retreat to anyone wanting a small beautiful intimate wedding. Had our wedding here during level 3 lockdown. Barb was a fantastic celebrant and host. We just kept in touch through emails and Barb always kept us updated throughout the different changes as a result of the restrictions. On the day of our wedding, Barb and Dave added some special touches to the place to make it more personal and our guests couldn't help but gush about how beautiful the place was. We hope to be able to stay here in the future.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to say a huge thank you for making our wedding day amazing! The whole experience with the lead up and of course on the day was just phenomenal and we are so happy that we found your amazing venue. Your customer service and flexibility made everything so easy in a time where things are difficult and that means a lot to us. You blew it out of the water and made the day exactly what we wanted and it was so incredibly special!! Everyone who came had a great time and speaks so highly to your amazing slice of paradise!

Such an INCREDIBLE venue!! Highly recommend! Everything was so easy, the venue was set up beautifully. We were able to show up have our ceremony and leave at the end to enjoy the rest of our day. The hosts were so accommodating and went out of the way to make our day and the lead up extra special. Not only is the venue beautiful but you can see the love and effort put into it to make it special. Right down to the little touches like the projector and projector screen so we could have our family with us via zoom despite the restrictions of Covid. Thank you and can't wait to come back for future anniversaries in one of your amazing accommodation options.

Nothing short of paradise! We got married here yesterday and it was absolutely magical, Barb and Dave were amazing hosts and made it feel effortless. We then had an amazing night away in the Cottage, had a night bath down by the waterfall. Felt like I was a million miles away. Thank you so much Barb and Dave, we are so grateful for these memories.

How stay was amazing. The set up is well thought through and even so it's so close to town you feel you are miles away. Barb & Dave were so accommodating and it was a real pleasure to stay.

Fantastic stay, very comfortable and beautiful scenery and location. Food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Spa under the stars was amazing, as was waking to birdsong. Highly highly recommended

Had such an awesome stay at Warblers Retreat for my partner's 30th birthday in the Kereru studio. From the welcoming hamper, to the amazing food and even a suprise birthday cake, everything was perfect. We had time to relax in the comfy warm accommodation, walked around the retreat checking out the gardens and the chickens, but the best part was the spa bath at night under the stars, it was the best birthday present ever. Barb and Dave were so kind and helpful with any requests we had. I highly recommend a stay here, my only regret is only staying one night. Cheers guys!

We had a bubble wedding and although we couldn't have everything we wanted that day I have to say it exceeded every expectation. we were allowed a couple extra hours for us to set up and get ready. it was the most magical and beautiful experience we have ever had in our lives the most amazing and memorable day we will ever have. The location was a enchanting and the sounds of nature were mind blowing the tui in the background of our wedding video were just the icing on the cake. We would love to thank barb and her husband for being the most kind herted hosts the aroha we felt from you two has totally restored our faith I humanity The warblers retreat is a diamond in the rough I wish we could get married more than once. I was looking forward to having our honeymoon there but covid is unpredictable and we understand why we couldn't. WE WERE ABSOLUTELY OVERWHELMED AND WE WILL DEFINITELY GET OUR HONEYMOON THERE... Excellent stay, my partner & I had two nights in the studio [I believe it was called], it was cosy, super comfortable bed, luxury en-suite bathroom & a well stocked kitchen! Would highly recommend to friends & family, and have done already! Hosts were excellent & very friendly too!

Amazing property, nice owners and a really great way to get away from daily life without having to go far. The cottage is so beautiful and it was awesome to have a bath outside. Great service, food and Barb and Dave are amazing friendly people. Definitely recommending a stay there!

I surprised my husband with two nights in The Cottage and we had a wonderful time. So serene and picturesque. The outdoor baths were amazing and the little thoughtful touches around the cottage made it all the more special. The breakfast was great and we had an onsite massage which was amazing. We toasted marshmallows on the outside fire pit and I had a great time challenging my husband at table tennis. This place is truly wonderful and I would highly recommend it to anyone. This is the most amazing Eco Retreat. So close to Auckland but so far away.....As soon as you arrive you are in a sanctuary full of beautiful birds, tropical planting and the attention to detail is second to none. The hot tub is fabulous after a bush walk or swim or just because!! Barb and Dave take great delight in making sure your every need is met. If you want to spoil yourself and have a fab weekend away - this is it! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will be back.

Had our Wedding at Warblers Retreat. It was perfect for what we wanted which was just a small ceremony with our immediate family. Beautiful venue and such wonderful hosts. Can't wait to come and stay a night some time in the future!

Attended a wedding here yesterday, you wouldn't think you were in Auckland, location was very private, surrounded by beautiful native Bush. The hosts were wonderful humble people and made this a really great day. Would highly recommend this venue.

Amazing property for how close it is to Auckland! We got married there in 2019 and stayed in the lodge with some family members. Everyone was absolutely blown away at the spaces at Warblers. It's unbelievably quiet and peaceful and even the air feels fresher. You can take a private outdoor bath by a stream or take a walk through some native bush. We also stayed in the new glamping area and WOW. What a nice place to relax and hang out with my husband away from the stress of life. It's close enough to home that we don't have to break the bank but far enough that we feel we are taking a little holiday. We highly highly recommend Warblers as a getaway or a wedding venue!

Dave and Barb were so amazing 👏 My brother's wedding on the 16th July was so special we all loved the venue and the hosts went out of their way for us all. Highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed

Totally serene. We spent hours soaking in the spa bath at night. The perfect getaway for a couple of nights relaxation. Such wholesome hosts! Thx Barb & Dave.

You will be blown away by how magical Warblers Retreat is. My partner and I stayed in the Eco Glamping caravan for two nights but we both wish we were there for a week. We often reminisce about how incredible the experience was. You have complete privacy from the rest of the resort and the indoor/outdoor space backs on to native bush that is entirely your view. Home to a large outdoor shower, spacious spa and bean bags it's safe to say we didn't need to move from our spot for a few days. There is a large, modern veranda area that means we would absolutely return to this establishment in both the summer and winter months. There are walking tracks and glow worms a stones throw from your accommodation, the large bathroom area has scented essential oils running and the caravan had every amenity possible to make our stay comfortable. Hard to pin down a favourite thing - possibly the freshly baked bread we were greeted with on day one. Ample room for parking. Barb was our main contact during the stay and she was helpful and quick to respond to any query we had. Hoping to stay here again in the New Year and do the nature bathtub experience!

Our stay at Warblers Retreat was absolutely remarkable. From the serenity of the landscape, to the personalised thoughtful touches of the basket of treats in our room and the oasis of calmness we felt like we were on a remote island. Our special dietary needs were welcomed and not frowned upon, our privacy respected & the massage/reiki healing sessions were fantastic. The outdoor bath with a glass of wine was so relaxing, we will most certainly be back.

I decided to take a quick break for some "ME" time but close to home so I didn't have to travel too far. Warblers Retreat kept popping up when I Google searched. I wanted somewhere I could go and just chill out and get one with nature. I wasn't disappointed! I booked into the Kereru Suite for 2 nights and was really impressed with everything about the accommodation. My husband (former travel writer/owner of LUXURY Travel Magazine) and I travel a lot all around the world (pre Covid) and usually stay at luxury hotels and resorts so we have quite a high standard. Warblers Retreat and the Kereru Suite really impressed me. The room was spotlessly clean and had all the comforts of home. Upon arrival I was greeted with a little chalk board and flowers personally welcoming me was a lovely touch. Exploring my room I was pleasantly surprised to find every detail had been thought of, all amenities from bathroom soaps etc. which were thoughtfully sourced from Forest & Bird NZ and so giving back to the environment, through to a delightfully stocked fridge of freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, herbs, beautiful little pottles of preserves including homemade strawberry jam, even ice-cream! Along with tea and coffee provisions was a basket with free range eggs from Warblers own chooks, breakfast cereals and homemade biscuits. A walk through the beautiful bush on clearly marked tracks was a calming and relaxing experience and again owners Barb & Dave had thought of everything, little signs along the track pointing out native bird and tree locations made a nice touch. The beautifully laid out spa bath beside a wee pond and waterfall in the bush was also a unique way to get in touch with nature and unwind. I made good use of this after a very relaxing massage. There is also The Canopy that can be hired for functions/weddings and the option to hire out the entire retreat. Owners Barb & Dave have done an amazing job and have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would thoroughly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for timeout or hiring for a special occasion.

Can't recommend Warbler's Retreat highly enough! We stayed in the gorgeous Kereru Studio for a night as a birthday treat for my partner and it was everything we could have hoped for - the accommodation is lovely, Barb & Dave's hospitality was exceptional and there were so many amazing little touches which made it a genuinely wonderful experience. The outdoor bath next to a little waterfall and surrounded by trees was a highlight, absolutely awesome. Can't wait to go back and stay again, and if recommend this fabulous little place to anyone looking for a romantic little getaway

Me and my husband has the best wedding at Warblers Retreat. The venue is stunning and the hosts Barb and Dave made the stay so personable and wonderful. Everything was perfect. Would recommend for a wedding or a weekend stay with loved ones.

I got married and we had our wedding night at Warbles Retreat. the place is amazing, we could not find a best option. Barb and Dave are so receptive, kind and nice, they looked after of all details for us. the accommodation was cozy, clean, romantic. the food was delicious. Plus, we had massage and reike with very nice and full skilled professionals. We can see clearly how this place is treated with love in order, to give an wonderful experience to the guests. Barb and Dave have created a sanctuary like nothing we have experienced before, our photos simply do not do this place justice at all. This is a solid 5 star for anyone who is looking for something truly special - I surprised my fiancée by brining her here after the surprise proposal and the tranquility elevated the romantic vibe to the next level. The attention to detail really shows not only in the built environment but also in the small touches here and there, including fresh eggs, herbs / flowers from the garden, hand written card and so much more. We especially loved the homemade strawberry jam and pickled rhubarb, so yum! Warblers Retreat totally exceeded our expectation, it offers the complete package for a hassle free getaway - Proximity to town, tranquility, outdoor spa by the waterfall, signposted walking tracks...and most importantly unmatched hospitality from Barb and Dave. We could feel they sincerely care about their guests. I am even getting a little emotional from writing this review since Warblers Retreat will forever remain a special place in our hearts. What a fantastic place to stay. We spent 2 nights and it was amazing. Beautifully clean and just a fantastic place to relax. Warblers Retreat was the first venue that we viewed, and we left with such excitement knowing that it was the venue that we wanted to get married at; It really did exceed all exceptions of how the venue looked on the day, and how the day came together. Barb And Dave Are The Perfect Hosts And really Make The Day Special For you. The Accommodation Is Beautiful and Has lots of Lovely homely touches all over it. Beautiful Homemade Bread on arrival and free Range eggs for breakfast. The Next Day we Even Got To Plant Our Own Special Tree At our Love sight With My Special Rock 😉. We had such a wonderful time with Warblers Retreats Romantic package and found it a treat for all of the senses! Every little thing has been thought of to surprise and delight you with little extras everywhere. It was such a relaxing and peaceful break for busy working parents. The Forrest Bath is a must and the food is amazing. We can’t wait to go back!!

It has been a wonderful stay with Barb and Dave at Warblers Retreat. For me it was the beginning of a single journey through the northern island of New Zealand. I could not have wished for a warmer welcome than the heartwarming care with which I was received. The accomodations are just as warm and welcoming as the lovely couple running Warblers Retreat. I can only recommand staying there and planning in plenty of time to recharge your batteries and enjoy the wonderful nature surrounding the place.

Attended a baby shower here in 'The Canopy' area...an absolutely stunning hidden gem close to home... I never knew it even existed until today! Beautiful spot that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 😀

What a great find ! A totally relaxing escape in the big city - experience the spa bath down by the waterfall, the swimming pool and the peace and quiet. Our room was very comfortable and thoughtfully supplied with everything we needed. Barb and Dave are great hosts – a friendly and down to earth Kiwi couple who have worked incredibly hard to create this exceptional property. Absolutely recommend Warblers to anyone looking for an escape from everyday life and an authentic Kiwi experience.

Every time I drive into Warblers Retreat I feel as though I’m entering a little country side paradise so close to the city. Barb and Dave are amazing people and you can clearly see how much love they’ve invested in their little slice of heaven. I absolutely recommend it.

Couldn't recommend more - Warblers is set in a serene setting, they takes great care of their environment, and really go the extra mile with their sustainability practices. Above all, the staff are incredibly warm, genuine, and hospitable.

Inspiring Stay in a Beautiful Setting Dave and Barb have created a beautiful eco retreat on the North Shore. We stayed in the spacious Kereru Suite, which was tastefully decorated with lots of lovely touches. What stood out above all was the attention to detail, with nothing that could enhance a visitor's experience overlooked. The Warblers Retreat is on a 5 acre section of mostly native bush and has been stunningly landscaped by Dave and Barb. The walks created are beautiful, and the city of Auckland might as well have been in another universe as we soaked up the sounds of birdsong, running water from the stream and waterfall, and branches swaying gently in the morning breeze. There is also a lovely salt water swimming pool, and, even better from our perspective, an outdoor bath tub with hot and cold water from which we enjoyed contemplating the star-filled night sky. Best of all, though, was the warm, unobtrusive hospitality of Dave and Barb. They were great company, full of useful information and advice when we requested it, but also sensitive to our need for peace and tranquility. Whilst they are clearly passionate about the beautiful retreat they have created this, and their wider commitment to the environment, came across in an understated way and mostly in response to our questions. I could rhapsodise endlessly about just how good the Warblers Retreat is (it's world class!), but in truth words alone cannot do it justice, and you really need to stay there to appreciate everything the place has to offer. If you enjoy peace, tranquility and seclusion in a beautiful natural setting then look no further for your next break.

We stayed the night in the studio and I have to say that the Warblers Retreat has to be one of the very best places I’ve had the pleasure to stay at. Very relaxing and beautiful area. Don’t forget to take a dip in the spa right next to the waterfall. Complimentary breakfast with home baked bread by the owner, freshly laid eggs and bacon- also cereals and light snacks with selection of heat all and normal tea & coffee. No expense spared and this place deserves a 5 star rating!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you for the hospitality and excellent customer service.. you made us feel right at home and we definitely will be back!!

Very relaxing, tranquil and quiet. Awesome bush walks with beautifull senares. Dave & Barb are wonderful hosts, and made us feel right at home.

This is a great hideaway. Superb pathways along the river in the bush, very nice family who look after guests and this place. We got bottle of Brut, water, all sorts of snacks, fresh fruits and fresh eggs on arrival. We didn't get daily room service by default after arrival but, I'm sure we would have if we asked for it. Every-time we requested anything, fulfilled completely. We are very satisfied with our stay and would 100% recommend it.

We had our eco wedding at Warblers Retreat in December and it was exceptional from start to finish. Barb is a phenomenal celebrant who dealt with our whole ceremony at short notice. She is kind, inclusive, funny and warm and made the ceremony beautiful for us. The package included everything we needed for the day with beautiful flowers, decorations and a lovely cake. Barb and Dave are excellent hosts and I couldn't rate them high enough.

All I can say is - wow! This is the top place I have ever stayed in and exceeded all our wildest expectations. From the fresh fruit, to the secluded private spa in the rainforest, to the bush, the birds and not least, the most amazing hosts - Dave and Barb, who has the energy to always light up your day. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get away and gain some perspective on life.

If you need a place to unwind and relax this is it. You arrive tired after travelling and there is Barb to meet you with everything you need to make you feel welcome, including special dietary requirements. You sleep that night in a comfortable bed with no city noise. You take in the beautifully landscaped grounds. You go for a bush walk, right in the midst of Auckland. During your stay you find yourself sipping champagne as you relax in an outdoor bath under the stars with the sounds of a waterfall and a Morepork calling. An oasis in New Zealand’s biggest city. We loved staying here and hope to do it again soon.

Amazing venue! Perfect for a small function, beautiful setting in amongst the sounds and sights of the bush. Great attention to detail around the gardens, fantastic accomodation, made for some wonderful memories. Would highly recommend this venue.

OMG Beautiful, serene, 6 star. From the minute I purchased a voucher online it was personalised and easy, then we booked the date it was personlises and easy. Then we turned up to a personalised note welcoming us and the owner met us to give us a few pointers about the amenities and how lovely the outside hot tub would be that night due to the recent rain and the waterfall sound. Modern fixtures and fittings. Great cheese board for the evening with comp bubbles. Then bacon and eggs for breakfast with home made loaf of bread. Heaven in the country and these guys do it so well whilst being ingocognito. Private, decadent and coming back soon.

This place is a slice of Pare-dice. Barbara & Dave are awesome hosts, with a variety of accommodation options, B&B, studio & cottage. Peaceful gardens, great native birdlife with plenty ot Tuis. 10 minites from Albany Village & North Harbor Stadium. 20 mins from Auckland City.
