N.Lived at Koanui for 3 months. The manager, Angie, is the sweetest person ever who made my stay so comfortable, and very very homely. Pretty cute lodge, with a BBQ and a couple pool tables. Had a bathroom and toilet attached to my room so was super convenient. Definitely know where to stay the next time I'm in Blenheim! Thanks Ange!
D.My stay at Koanui was absolutely amazing! Angie was the most welcoming and caring manager ever. Staff kept the place clean and tidy at all times which is priceless when working 12 hours per day during harvest - thank you!! The lodge itself is very spacious and comfortable - two kitchens, two living rooms, outdoor area to relax, bbq, pool tables, free parking, etc. I'm definitely staying here if coming back to Blenheim any other time! People are nice, Chloe (the Manager) is such a nice and helpful person. She is doing a great job. The rooms are comfy and there is enough storage space. We would come back anytime and recommend it.
L.Awesome hostel! Stayed here for 4 month and met so many nice people. Ange, the owner, is a really outstanding woman and during the time I stayed here there were a puppy and a baby cat. Maybe the house could be a bit too old for some people.
C.We spent a great time in the Airbnb next to the Hostel. Everything is clean, they have lots of cozy places where you can relax and chill after work. We got a job after two days and Rose and Angela (at the reception) were very helpful and friendly. You can play pool/table tennis for free and rent bikes. I highly recommend the Koanui Hostel 😍 New World is 3 minutes walkaway and the city centre 10 minutes. Perfect location!
S.This is a pretty decent backpackers overall. Good location, the kitchens get cleaned daily so people's dirty dishes aren't sitting around forever. The wifi connection usually worked well.
Right as my stay here was almost up Thornhill randomly laid off all the backpackers, but the staff here were able to get me a 1 day job so I was still able to make some more money before leaving. If you need help finding a job in Blenheim this is a good place to stay.
N.If you want to work in New Zealand this is the place to be. The hostel organises you quickly a good and fair job. The facilities couldn't be much better with a pool table, a ping pong table, free and good WiFi and also free laundry. But the most amazing part of this hostel are the people that are staying there. No matter at which part of the year you are here, the people are always shrektastic. This hostel must have some kind of magic in it, that only the nicest, coolest, friendliest and most fun people come and stay here. The parties on the weekend are legendary. So if you haven't find a place so far that feels for you like home in New Zealand, come to Koanui and you will have one of the greatest times of your life.
C.Best Hostel in town. I stayed here for 3 months and can recommend this place to everybody, who looks for a Working-Hostel in Blenheim. The manager will easily find you a job. Facilities and staff are great as well.

F.I have been fortunate enough to have stayed at this hostel from Auguest 2017 - May 2018. This has been by far one of the best hostels I have ever experienced.
The people, the vibes and the set up makes it a perfect balance between social and work.
For a long term worker I would highly recommend staying here.
One of my favourite highlights is the utilities. Free wifi, pool table, table tennis, giant Jenga, free washing (cold) and two kitchens which are always available.
Admitadly this is not a place you would stay short term on a weekend, during a harvest party on a weekend full of harvest workers.
Chester Martin was one of those unfortunate people to discover this. I will highlight I offered him a beer and to join in twice like a "Disrespectful Person" I am but he refused to join in.
He was also warned before check in that there was going to be a Hostel party. I hope you consider these factors before taking taking is review onboard.
H.Great experience. The woman who worked in the office during my stay was very friendly and always working hard. The people staying here were friendly as well and made sure that the place always stayed clean. Superb atmosphere for a backpackers. Would recommend.
