Such a beautiful and relaxing place to unwind to charge your energy.
Kay and John were very nice and friendly, super comfortable bed, extremely clean fecilities, love the shower head very very much, doing soothing massage when you are having a shower 🎀🍷😊🌹
Everyone should go and enjoy this wonderful place, especially when you are working hard, just need this Kind of the place to reward yourself.

The easy to find Gully Retreat owned by John & Kay is a perfect place to stay & relax. They are both genuine & attentive hosts who care that your stay is a memorable one. The rooms in their B&B are large & of a high standard. Set in an idyllic bush surrounded with a variety of Tuis & Quail bird life. This place has easy access to surrounding attractions & is only 15mins to Cambridge. My wife & I highly recommend staying here on your travels

It’s not often that a place you stay at ticks all the boxes, theres always something wrong or a bit weird, but not here.
The Breakfast provided (with home made elements and local produce from growers markets) was excellent, the beds and pillows were great and super comfy (this is something I often find disappointing at hotels) , and the bathrooms were just like a 5 star luxury hotel.
John and Kay + their friendly dogs were the perfect hosts, and in a way it was like staying with friends.
They provided a cot and high chair for our 9 month old baby, plus made the main area safe for him to roam around in (and tolerated his yelling throughout the night)
The surrounding bushland and the serenity emanating from it cannot be accurately described, just book a few nights here and experience it for yourself!

A very quiet and beautiful place to stay. The accommodation is simple yet comfortable. Just be aware if you are allergic to dogs (like I am) there are four dogs that live in the living area/kitchen/dining area that you will be sharing the accommodation with! John and Kay try very hard to provide the best experience possible and really like to interact with the guests at breakfast time. The only reason I give it 3 stars is due to the dogs as I have never liked sharing furniture with animals and I don't feel that this aspect of the accommodation is represented particularly well in the information provided. If you love dogs then you will love the place

This place is my kinda "slice of nz"
Set in the most beautiful Native Bush, with hosts that will go above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
Being lucky enough to be a part of a bridal party spending our night/day before the wedding with 1 nervous bride, while the other bride stayed in Matamata.
Slight problem when arrived to discover the driveway has been recently concreted and couldn't get some of the bridal cars down the driveway.
But we worked around it. The car that ould make it, even got a wash by the hosts while we were getting ready.
The owners are lovely people, real people..
I'm not a huge fan of dogs in the house, but respect their house and their dogs are their family, and they where very "obedient " And Not allowed in your rooms..🙂
Fantastic place and people
Would recommend to all
Anytime of the year
And yes the breakfast was Devine..
Thank you Ross and Kay
