Fantastic place to stay. Nothing is a problem, very welcoming owners. Lovely touches in the room, bowl of wrapped sweets and handy things in the bathroom, just incase you forgot your shaving kit. Clean tidy units. Totally recommend stopping here.

Such such lovely owners, made the stay so enjoyable. Pool was so nice and not too cold at all. Room was super comfy and nice. Great location, 100% recommend!

Great motel,really great hosts Hard working and very accommodating.Had everything we needed.Good central position in Carterton and very central for the rest of the Wairarapa.Very reasonable prices.

Stayed here and was so pleased I did good open welcome and friendly neighbours too thank you for a great stay so comfortable beds and clean .

Hosts where very hospitable during our stay. Honey their Golden Retriever was a little star. Rooms were very spacious, clean and the shower pressure was best on I our NI trip. Couldn’t ask for more. Thx Barry & Colleen

If you are going to be staying anywhere in the area, it's worth taking that extra time to stay at the Matador Motel. There is a lovely couple that run it, and even in the chill of winter the place still looked tidy and lovely. Rooms are clean and tidy, have all that you need. They have swapped having sky in favour of Netflix and was nice to not have a data limit on their wifi. Something they do, that every acom should do - they have dimmable led bedside lamps with built in wireless charging pads for your phone!. I arrived at 530pm on a crispy 7 degree autumn day to them happy to see me and informing me that the light is on in my room, door unlocked and the heater going along with close places to have my dinner. Even tho I am here breifly they have made it such a joy to be here. Can highly recommend.

Awesome motel one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. Good location, good value for money, friendly hosts. I only wished we had time to try out the pool. Would definitely recommend A+++

Lovely clean Friendly Place nice atmosphere

As usual they are above the standard for any motel in the country. The cleanest and friendliest place to stay in the Wrapa.

Wonderful rooms.. Ever so clean and stocked up.. Staff are lovely and nothing to much trouble..

What a beautiful wee motel!!! Stunningly, immaculately clean and tidy. Comfortable beds, modern interior, cute extra touches to the rooms and delightful staff. The nicest motel I've stayed at in many years (and i stay in a lot). I will absolutely reccomend this to anyone who will listen. Awesomeness :)

Excellent in service Excellent in cleanliness modern in style and shower very powerful just how I like the shower to be. Only one thing I would like, tv need more channels not the same ones repeating would like 30 to 35 movie channels . Otherwise great stay. PS LOVE THE PERK COFFEE that was in room

This motel exceeded our expectations. Jono was extremely helpful as the number of people travelling with us changed, and we kept changing the number of rooms that we needed. The rooms were very clean and smelled "fresh". The beds and pillows were super comfy. Lots of nice "little touches" like the chocolates by the bed. It's within walking distance of the town and there's a fantastic cafe, The Mirabelle that has fabulous coffee and yummy freshly baked pastries and cakes. I can highly recommend the Matador Motel.

Really clean, warm, thoughtful touches, lovely host along with honey the labrador 😊 we came in late and the lights and heater had been left on for us. Great stay thanks!

5+ Super clean and modern inside, the hosts could not have been friendlier. Lovely pool for a dip after a day exploring. Walking distance to some nice eateries and shops. Will be back!!

Stayed here overnight. Friendly, helpful owner. Off the street parking for my van and trailer. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure in the shower. Great selection of tea, coffee, and sweets. Very reasonable price. Would happily stay here again.

Motels warm and super clean. Well set up for wheelchair if required. Very handy to restaurants and takeaways. Motel staff very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay again.

Very good accomodation. Very clean and in good decorative order. Bed comfortable. Had a good welcome at check in. You get a small bottle of milk which many of the motels don't provide.

We stayed 1 night arriving 7p.m got an upgrade to the quietest room at the end.. The room was absolutely lovely with everything fresh and clean..so tired. But we needed something to eat and was recommended THE MERIGOLD a thai restaurant next door..wow !! That was so good est Thai

Great place to stay. Very clean, family friendly and the staff are kind and helpful. Thank you very much for making us feel welcome in the wairarapa and everything you did to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Comfy and cosy. The room was warm and clean. Given it's on a busy road there was very minimal traffic noise and the owners were really friendly. I'd stay again.

Warm comfy beds. Quiet. Warm on arrival on a cold night. The outside is a tad shabby but inside much better than photos show.
