This was a great stay and the welcoming committee (the kitty cat) was a curious surprise! She's a brainy feline - she knew which room I was staying in after visiting earlier - we met again in the carpark and she walked straight to my room and came in :-D Very cool. Staff are awesome, the shuttle service is excellent. My new go-to in Christchurch. Thank you SO much

This place is great, excellent service from Jono and the room was super comfortable and really affordable, had everything we needed and more incl a fan, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, full size mirrors, heated towel rail, flat screen with chromecast and large ensuite. Our room even had a cute private and sheltered backdoor area. Highly recommend this accommodation 😊

Some good some bad. I did book an economy room so didn't expect the best. Would have liked sky or even the channels to be sequential.

Stayed here over Easter holiday. No-one manning reception when we arrived. we were a group of 12 and said we would have dinner there. Got to dining room and they were not expecting us - very poor wine and food choices (had run out) and service - staff obviously stressed. We had a studio room which has a comfy bed and good shower. Room service not the greatest either. Close to airport and free shuttle to airport.

Couldn't recommend the Airport Gateway more. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and the rooms were lovely. Stayed in one of the business wing rooms, and they were beautifully appointed with quality linen and really clean. Backs onto the busy Memorial Avenue, but no road noise, slept soundly. Park N Fly is a great deal, and cheaper then the airport itself. Nothing to fault here

My expectations were far exceeded! I just wanted a decent room for the night in transit, but was really impressed with everything about the motel, from the shuttle pick up and friendly driver, to the seemless check in, to the nicer than expected room, to the best ribeye steak dinner I’ve had in a long, long time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Fantastic studio room. Spacious enough for my wife and I with our 3yo. Clean, tidy, good beds and wonderful shower.

Airport shuttle is very convenient. Closer to airport. Nice gardens around the houses. Nice staff. Plenty of parking spaces. Heating of the rooms can be improved a bit. Kitchen has hot and cold water running on two separate taps which is a huge inconvenience. Small toilets. Good value for money for a short stay.

Great place! Not far from the airport, so perfect for any early flights. Bed was super comfy and room was a great temperature. Towels were amazing! Very friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay here.

I stayed here for one night on a business trip. The room I had was a ground floor unit, and was very big at around 40m2, with seperate kitchen, living area, bedroom, bathroom and toilet. It was also clean and tidy. In these respects it was excellent. But it was a bit dated, and had no air conditioning. There was a restaurant that served surprisingly good meals. But the espresso I had at breakfast was terrible. I suspect they haven't trained the staff how to use the machine, and/or they don't clean it properly. The had a free shuttle to pick us up from the airport, which was quick and easy.

Restaurant needs upgrading but food and coffee was good. Room was great and even had chromecast so I could watch from my phone! Will stay again as very handy to airport and main routes to city.

All staff were wonderful from the shuttle pick up late at night to check out the following day. The unit (one of the modern studios) was clean, very comfortable, very warm and although it backed up on to the busy road we were not bothered by the noise. Had a visit from a sweet little cat too :) Will be staying again.

Rooms are really nice and recipetion is helpful and nice. We had a 5hr wait between check out of the unit and our flight home, so I asked if we could use the flight lounge at the airport gateway and was told there isn't anyone down there to supervise us.... 28 and apparently need supervision to sit on a lounge.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was fantastic. Really functional with loads of room for luggage. Heated floors in the bathroom were lovely. The renovated room is really modern. We had dinner in the motel restaurant, food was great and price reasonable. Wake up call and transfer to airport at 4am all went seamlessly - very impressed and will stay again.

Have stayed in three different rooms over a couple of years. Last stay 2 nights ago. All rooms well appointed, very clean and tidy. Both visits had middle of the night air port shuttle pick up. This is a great service. Room service was good and the quickest service I have ever had. I would recommend the Airport Gateway to all my friends heading over the ditch to Christchurch.

Convenient location close to the airport with free shuttle. Motel unit was spacious and kitchenette was well equipped. There were quite a few restaurants and take away food places a short walk away. Plus the restaurant at the motel was fine for an evening meal, there's also a bar. Close to transport to the city as well.

Motel+. Good size modern clean rooms at a fair rate. We had room 517, a second level king studio just to the left of the entrance, for three nights. Although road adjacent, the rooms all face inwards so there was very little road noise. The bathroom is a good size for two people. The kitchenette was well stocked. Bed was good and firm. Electric blankets, but with a thick enough underlay that you can't feel the wires (personal bugbear). Heat pump. Highly recommend this place as an alternative to an airport hotel. As an airport proximal accommodation, the location is not ideal. The only place to eat in the evenings nearby is the on site restaurant, which closes at 9.30. Perhaps dinner is OK, but breakfast and coffee is mediocre. I don't hold this against them as they're clearly trying, but they definitely could do a lot brute. Luckily there is a nearby Cafe ("43 degrees") that is open from 7.30 week days. All in all, good experience.

Great place to stay.Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Free trips to and from the airport 24/7.Car storage should you be out of town or the country at any time (conditions apply so check first).Gardens and grounds well set out.On site resturant (we didnt use but it looks clean n set out well with a bar).Better to get a newer unit (ask for 600/700's or 500 blocks) as the cheaper ones,although clean may not suit all travelers

Book the business upgraded rooms. Well designed. Huge TV. Fantastic bathroom with undertile heating. Good wee kitchenette. Room to sit for a meal. Comfy bed with lots of pillows. Good reception service. Wake up calls. Shuttle to airport. Recommend if catching early morning flight.

We stayed in a studio for one night before flying back to the States. Staff is very friendly, and even gave us a shuttle ride back to the hotel after dropping off our car at our rental agency. Room was clean, and included a small kitchenette. In addition, rooms on the first floor have a patio with chairs and a table. Lastly, bathroom was relatively spatious and shower head water pressure strong. The only downside was that our bathroom had no fan. Would definitely reccomend if catching an early flight in the morning. Shuttle gets you there in plenty of time.

Some of the best customer service I've experienced! Authentic customer care from the three lovely staff we had direct contact with, especially CC, working the front desk. She is a credit and asset to this place and a genuine soul. Food was great and it was fantastic affordable accomodation Thank you!

Very clean well appointed & modern. Restaurant side is a bit hit and miss with both food and service, though staff are lovely not on the ball.

It has ok wifi, which is easy to access and free with the room. Some bedrooms have Chromecast and television TVs. It is relaxing. There is nice breakfast and food room service.

We didn't stay overnight but attended a conference at the gateway. Staff very nice, great lunch and very good conference facilities.

Stayed here ~3 years ago for 2 weeks whilst EQ repairs were being done in our family home. They unit was clean and tidy (although a bit dated) and the staff were very pleasant to deal with. I would certainly recommend this motel to visitors waiting for a late night/early morning departure, or for others in similar situations to ourselves.

Very well placed for airport. Shuttle bus on time. Restaurant evening meal was lovely. Only problem has to be at airport before breakfast was available so cannot comment

My deepest gratitude to Sam the night staff member on the 18th July 2020 who made a very difficult situation positive. My son after being one of many to lose their jobs due to COVID and securing work in Dunedin was left stranded at the Airport due to a rude staff member of Jucy Snooze where he was booked to stay overnight. We looked up another motel at 10.30 pm and found Sam at Gateway Lodge who went and collected him without hesitation took him back cooked him a meal put him in a room for the night and took him to catch his flight this morning. We in Auckland appreciate your help Sam you are a true Kiwi.

The staff were very friendly, there was fast wifi, spacious rooms and free parking. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport which runs 24 hours which is helpful.
