It’s close to the attractions in downtown area. The room is clean, comfy and warm. Will is very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely choose this place again when we are in town!

We booked an abnb near by this hotel but was encountered some difficulties to check in at late 8pm of that day. We were so frustrated and the manager Will of this hotel is so helpful and polite, he give us a room at a very reasonable price even we book in a hurry moment. He was so kind offer us an extra room Without charging us. I recommend this hotel to everyone if u wanna catch a flight near the airport. Will can speak mandarin and English very well. Once again, thanks Will🫶🏻

Our stay at De Lago Motel was fantastic. The service was over and above expectations. Will was always on hand like a parent without being fluffy and over the top. The location was a hop step and jump into Papanui and walking distance from the centre city. Rooms are a good size, spas with great jets as was the shower with water pressure. A bonus with a washing machine in the rooms. We only received one towel on one occasion by mistake. Another towel was given and the following day two muffins were left to make up for the oversight. If we were ever to go back to Christchurch we’d definitely stay at De Lago Motel again.

I have stayed twice now at De Lago Motel, each visit is about 12 to 14 days. I love this place, my room is so clean and I have everything I need, plus a washing machine. The Owner and staff couldn't be nicer. I recommend this Motel. I am back in September for 12 more days. 😊😊

The rooms are clean and neat. Just a heads up about the location. Whilst being well-located, the road noise is very bad. It's close to a busy road and the vehicles are loud in the room until late at night. So loud they kept me awake and I slept badly. There was also a lot of light coming through the entrance door and curtains. Not ideal for good sleep. Other than that it is an ok place.

Our room was lovely and clean. It was very neat with great facilities and friendly staff. The location was fantastic - a comfortable walk to the city centre and close to Merivale mall. We definitely will be staying here again!

De Lago was the best place we've stayed at so far in NZ. The amenities were really good and the manager was super helpful and went above and beyond to do what we needed and ensure we were comfortable. We used the hot plates and pans provided to us which were really good and the washing machine was great, the manager also provided us with a clothesline when we asked for one. During our stay, we asked the manager if we could stay a couple extra nights on short notice, which he gave us a great deal on. Overall, very happy with our stay, thank you!

I flew to Christchurch to look for a house to rent and De Lago Motel was in a fantastic location - it was central which made viewings easier and there are shops very close by making getting food etc also very easy. The room was great value and even had a balcony. The manager, Will, was very helpful and it's his help that truly make De Lago Motels a 5 star stay. He was considerate, polite and would go out of his way to make my trip and stay easier for me. I highly recommend De Lago Motels, especially for business trips or anyone looking for great bang for your buck.

Was one of the better hotels I have ever stayed in. Staff were wonderful and friendly, the room was HUGE with full kitchen and the spa bath was excellent to relax in. The bed was massive and so comfy. A lot of different pillow softness available on the bed. Being upstairs unfortunalty getting to the room you have to walk up the stairs outside and unfortunately it was raining. I was concerned about slipping. Overall, 100% would stay again

Very comfortable and clean studio apartment with the added bonus of a washing machine. Within walking distance to shops and eateries. Will was a great host and we really appreciated his willingness to make our stay enjoyable. Very happy to recommend this motel.

Rooms large and spacious. Heated towel rack, washer / dryer, fridge, kettle, and kitchenware most helpful and appreciated. Easy to relax and eat in, or not have a pile of dirty clothes for the return trip. Manager was more than helpful. Always went out of his way to answer questions and make sure our stay was comfortable. Clean rooms and large beds. Easy walk to downtown or eating places. Spent about 10 nights and will stay again.

Loved it ! 10/10 We came up for a concert and our original hotel double booked us after 2 hours on the phone with Expedia we where lucky enough to be put up at the de Lago the owner/manager was so amazing with in 15 minutes of the last minute booking we where checked in. We have had 3 nights of absolute bliss ! The spa bath is amazing the room is so spacious especially when you get the 2 bed room room service was always offered and I got fruit bursts on arrival witch mad a very angry lady feel peace I would 10/10 recommend this motel to anyone !!! Thank you !:)

Very friendly and efficient check in. Off-street parking was convenient. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the room was quite dated and sadly didn’t match the modern website photos. The venetian blind covering the clear glass front door was broken and semi-attached together with cellotape which provided inadequate privacy. The net curtains across the balcony door were attached to their tracks with yellow paperclips and were very dated, and the old fabric curtains let in a lot of light. The walls and furniture throughout the room were scuffed. I attempted to use the clothes dryer but my fingers jammed in the handle. A touch of paint and refreshed furnishings would make the world of difference to the space. The nightly rate I was charged for this dated room was unacceptable.
