One of the best hostel ever. I spent 7 months there and i saw a lot of people coming back in this hostel after a trip because you feel like home. For a short or a long stay, you enjoy all the relax common areas, peaceful garden, big kitchen with oven and everything for cooking and baking. Friendly atmosphere, thanks to Janet and Tom, and all the managers. 100% recommended

Good kitchen and shared facilities. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make meals. Shared areas included games and a piano. Beautiful garden area. Bed was comfortable. Location was good. Staff were friendly. The only complaint is that the walls are thin in between rooms and you can sometimes hear the conversations from another room or outside.

We stayed as a group of three girls for a week in one of their 3 beds per room offers and oh boy where do I start. First of all, they are seriously undercharging for the quality of their place and the experience of staying there. Firstly, the wifi was so fast and reliable, the staff were SO incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms were spotless and were cleaned everyday, the room was insulated so it was so warm and cozy everytime we got back (no heater needed, though there was one), and on top of that they had duck down duvets. The location is great, really close to everything, their facilities and the place in general was just great and keep tidy and clean and aired out, and it was so cute that they had the faulty towers theme. Good security with the gate system, they even had a wee whiteboard notice board out front that had the events over the next few days that were happening close by like the outdoor movies. The *only* thing that was less than great was the parking but even saying that, we weren't ever without one. Couldn't ask for more from the place, would give 10/5 stars if I could.

Fantastic hostel! Staff is lovely and helpful, the garden area is superb, and the units are clean. We booked a friend in a shared dorm, and we had a private suite with a bathroom. Shared kitchen has all you could require as well. There are hammocks to lay in and listen to the wood pidgeons swoop in the clean the gutters, and if you are lacking anything, there is a giant pile of free things to pick through. Amazing and absolutely lovely hostel. The host is an adorable and amazing woman - you'll feel like home instantly. Really close to the city center as well with great breakfast places just a few mins walk from the hostel. Really green and beautiful garden - kitchen and bathrooms are clean and daily cleaned. Can only recommend to stay here.

Pleasure to return to Foleys after all these years. Nice to see others feel the same way. Unquestionably, Foley Towers is a multigenerational pillar for the traveler community when visiting CHC. Friendly, clean, well maintained.

I have just recently stayed at Foley Towers. I stayed for 4 nights. I really enjoyed staying there. I was very impressed with Jihye. I arrived at about 8 p.m. and Jihye made me feel so welcome. She greeted me like I was a long lost friend. I had a private room with a shower and toilet. The room was lovely and clean and very quiet. My room was surrounded by a lovely garden with places to sit outside. The shared kitchen, lounge and dining room were also really clean and a pleasure to use. I highly recommend this hostel and I would definitely stay there again.

Can’t recommend this hostel highly enough. Maria on reception was always friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the facilities are awesome. The gardens are a great place to chill out and it all feels really secure as all the gates to the street are locked. It’s also right next to the city center and the river Avon so a perfect location to explore Christchurch. 10/10 would hostel again.

This hostel is amazing! It’s the cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to, and has a friendly atmosphere. They provide a lot of information regarding adventures, and jobs, and resources around the hostel. And the house and gardens are so pretty.

Foley towers is a really friendly hostel, well located, really clean and the staff really puts effort to give a good experience. Well equipped kitchens and organised. It has some nice common areas and gardens. Totally recommended.

Many thanks to Maria and the great team of Foley Towers! They were really caring to keep everything clean, [esp. the bedrooms (i stayed in a shared room), bathrooms, kitchen and the living and dining room] and that everyone is happy. And not just once a week but everyday. A nice garden and daily information about what is going on included. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend that hostel!

Foley Towers is more of a home than a hostel. It is split between two buildings, with garden areas all over where one can sit down and enjoy the day. The staff are all really helpful and lovely people, and the hostel is kept neat and tidy. It's also well-located, just 10-15 minutes from Cathedral Square. It's close to a main road, but you don't really hear the cars - it's like an island of peace! The kitchens are well-equipped, and they offer a lot of free spices. There are also 'free stuff' boxes - if someone doesn't need something anymore, they can leave it there for someone else to use instead of throwing it away. It can be food, books, shampoo... No throwing away anything that could be useful. They have a cat as mascot - Mister Foley. He roams around the gardens, and is really friendly. They also have a board with different activities going on around Christchurch, like the different markets, concerts, events... Even ice cream suggestions! To sum up, I can sincerely say that Foley Towers is the best hostel I've ever been to!

Lovely safe and comfortable hostel. Was thrilled to see single beds instead of bunks, kitchens are nice, internet ok and common rooms feel really homely and pleasant. Only down side was room was a little stale smelling upon arriving.

Beautiful hostel with very friendly personal. Nice garden, well equipped kitchen. Rooms for 3-4 people. Not overly crowded while I was there. Some would miss soap and a towel for Taking a shower. Not me. I don't take baths. Nah, because I travel with that. But I get it. I think it is great. Ambience is cool too. Relaxed, not too noisy but not boring.

Foley Towers isn't just a hostel, it is a real home with a big family of travellers. You can feel how much work and passion the owners and staff members put in this lovely place every day: The kitchens are extremly clean, the gardens are great to relax, the beds are comfortable and the common areas are cosy. The best hostel I've been in so far with an amazing atmosphere.

Nice Hostel with a big kitchen and very much space to hang out inside and outdoors. Nice rooms with showers and bathrooms right around the corner. Everything is very clean and is being cleaned on a regular basis. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is chilled and positive! I'd definitely would go again! The Wifi is free and very fast and they have parking available.

If you're looking for a hostel with a laid back, homely atmosphere then book Foley Towers! Lovely staff who are always happy to help and are great at helping you get to know the area, has all the facilities you need, kitchens and living areas are always kept nice and clean, really feels like being at home. Wifi is free also which is great! And to top it all off the guests are like one big family - it's a great place to stay!

Best Hostel i‘ve ever been to. The staff is really nice and helpful with everything. The rooms, kitchen, bathrooms are perfectly clean and good equipped. Everything is very cozy and lovely made, there is a great places to hang out, such as livingrooms, tv room, beautiful garden! We went there twice and would always come back!

Nice place! We stayed for three nights while in Christchurch. The facilities are well-maintained and large enough to accommodate heaps of people. There are two well-equipped kitchens and on-site laundry facilities too. And you can't beat the price. If you're looking to do a budget accommodation in Christchurch, this is the place to be for sure.

I really liked this place. I stayed here for a total of 5 nights on 3 separate occasions this past month. The prices are very reasonable, the place is very tidy, and it is quite close to the downtown area. I would definitely stay here again if I travel to Christchurch in the future.

Lovely hostel with great vibe. Located basically in city centre, but you would not guess it, since it is very spacious and quiet with nice garden and amenities. You can even exchange your unwanted stuff, because there is storage of those kind of things here done, or you can just leave the items for other travellers to use. Clean, tidy, spacious with nice personnel and attention to detail, what more can you ask from city hostel. Maybe bit more reliable wifi but thats about it.

It's good. I stayed at one other hostel in Christchurch at the start of my trip, this one at the end, and I would say the other one was a little bit better. Here you had no free WiFi?! It felt to be a long walk from the centre of activity in the CBD to here. It also was a little bit cold in the room. Other than that it is perfectly good and the staff were very friendly when I was there.

Best hostel I stayed in in New Zealand. Book a room in advance. Very friendly staff, the manager Jonathan was very helpful and helped us with everything he could. the place is clean and tidy and plenty of room in the lounge. Rooms in a very good condition.

I love this hostel. It is very comfortable and has great staff and guests. There are plenty of social areas to hangout and the location is close to the city centre. It is a 5 minute walk from the bus stop from the airport so very convenient.

Backpackers paradise! Lovely garden, fantastic staff, friendly atmosphere. Free towel hire on request, guitars to play, well equipped kitchen and plenty of books to read. Always new suggestions what to do every day in Christchurch or in the area! :)

This backpackers was wicked, unfortunately we only stayed one night but I would of loved to stay more! Plenty of space, chill out areas, all the amenities you need. Just a really cool vibe too, we were chuffed with our stay!

Definitely the place to stay in Christchurch. Free WiFi, clean and comfy rooms, big and well equipped kitchens, beautiful garden with bbq and nice living rooms with TV lounge. The staff is super friendly and always knows what's happening in town. The CBD and good pubs and bars are just a short walk away. If you're looking for a place for a few days while visiting the area or you stay a bit longer for work in Chch, I can really recommend this hostel.

I stayed here a few months back and found it quiet ...room was comfo and nice..lounge has got plenty to read in it..overall a great place

This is a lovely place but the garden areas which are directly in front of the rooms were noisy until late at night with people people talking loudly. They were asked to keep the noise down by other guests and members of staff but it was ignored. Such a shame. Facilities were great but we were horribly sleep deprived because of the late night noise.

Nice hostel but very cold. We got a special price when we said we didn't have a lot of money, and they did all they could to make sure we had a nice stay there. Free parking, and a very quiet hostel.

Everything about this place makes me wish I could stay indefinitely. The community, the garden, the rooms, the people. It’s wonderful. I’ve been here for three months and loved every minute of it!

Awesome place to stay. Nice staffs will help you with everything in this quiete and clean place. Little cabins used as dorm bed rooms givin this place a relaxed atmosphere. Exactly what you need in a stressfus city.

Foley's is pretty cheap. We paid 68$ for an ensuite double room. Shared showers double would have cost 60$. The kitchen is quite messy, especially in the morning. There us a big pile of 'free stuff' that people leave before flying out. The receptionist was very helpful.

We really enjoyed Foley Towers. Super friendly Staff. Have decided to use Foley House every time we are in Christchurch. Probably the only thing I would say is could smokers please not smoke outside the kitchen entry? Many thanks

One of my absolute favourite hostels in nz! Jon the manager is very competent and helpfull, its clean and you feel welcome.

Was put in garden area cabin not what we expected, was clean, no sign of a heater,bit small, little noisy but not what was expected as add on internet

The managers are always there when something is missing or other worries are somewhere. Organization great and very very clean everything. Even the shower curtains are changed almost every day. So if you want to spend a few days or months in Christchurch I really recommend the Foley Towers. Martin (Original) Ich kann dieses Hostel nur sehr sehr empfehlen. War jetzt fast 5 Monate dort und es ist wie eine zweite Familie dort. Die Manager sind immer zur Stelle wenn mal etwas fehlt oder sonstige Sorgen irgendwo sind. Organisation super und sehr sehr sauber alles. Selbst die Duschvorhänge werden quasi jeden Tag gewechselt. Also wer ein paar Tage oder wie ich Monate in Christchurch verbringen will dem empfehle ich echt das Foley Towers. Martin
