The view from the room is beautiful. You can overlook the whole city . The manager Yu is very nice and friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Provide us variety choice of breakfast. He is like a caring friend. We'll definitely come back!
A great experience! The hotel room is very comfortable, with underfloor heating bathroom, memory foam pillows, duvets, and one pure water in the room, which tastes soft. The hotel manager is also very nice, friendly, responsive, and very attentive to make breakfast for us in different ways, just like friends. We will definitely come back next time we come to CHCH!

U.(Translated) We stayed at Hackthorns Garden for 2 nights and enjoyed the time. The check-in was very uncomplicated and Eric, who is responsible for everything and the good soul of the hotel, showed us the hotel and our room personally. We had booked the room with the king-size bed. The bed was very large and comfortable, although not as large as a king size bed. The room is very luxurious and has an unbelievable and priceless dreamlike view of Christchurch. Eric also gave us recommendations for restaurants as the hotel does not currently offer dinner. Breakfast both mornings consisted of a bowl of cereal, two pieces of toast, jam, butter, a fried egg, orange juice and a pot of tea. We liked it and it was enough, but not up to the standard of a 5 * hotel. (You have to mention, however, that there were only 2 other guests in addition to us and it is therefore sustainable and environmentally conscious not to offer large amounts of food and then possibly have to throw it away)
The entire hotel is luxuriously furnished. Only the outdoor areas / green areas have to be looked after a little more.
All in all, we had an excellent time at Hackthorns and would come again. We can recommend this hotel with a clear conscience and we would like to thank Eric for his friendly manner and the fulfillment of all our requests.

Wir waren für 2 Nächte im Hackthorns Garden und haben die Zeit genossen. Der Check in gestaltete sich sehr unkompliziert und Eric, der für alles verantwortlich und die gute Seele des Hotels ist, zeigte uns persönlich das Hotel und unser Zimmer. Wir hatten das Zimmer mit dem Kingsize Bett gebucht. Das Bett war sehr groß und bequem, allerdings nicht so groß wie ein Kingsize Bett. Der Raum ist sehr luxuriös ausgestattet und hat einen unglaublichen und unbezahlbar traumhaften Ausblick auf Christchurch. Eric gab uns ebenfalls Empfehlungen für Restaurants, da im Hotel derzeit kein Abendbrot angeboten wird. Das Frühstück bestand an beiden Morgen aus einer Schüssel Müsli, zwei Toast, Marmelade, Butter, einem gebratenen Ei, Orangensaft und einer Kanne Tee. Es hat uns geschmeckt und war auch genügend, aber entspricht nicht dem Standard eines 5* Hotels. (Man muss allerdings auch erwähnen, dass neben uns nur noch 2 weitere Gäste anwesend waren und es somit nachhaltig und umweltbewusst ist, keine großen Mengen an Essen anzubieten und diese dann eventuell wegwerfen zu müssen)
Das gesamte Hotel ist luxuriös ausgestattet. Lediglich die Außenanlagen / Grünanlagen müssen wieder etwas mehr gepflegt werden.
Alles in allem hatten wir eine hervorragende Zeit im Hackthorns und würden wieder kommen. Wor können dieses Hotel ruhigen Gewissens empfehlen und bedanken uns bei Eric für seine freundliche Art und die Erfüllung all unserer Anliegen.
