Excellent place to stay!!! Great location (at 5 mins walking to the city centre). The rooms are beautiful. Thanks to Mark and his amazing team at the reception for give us the best welcome possible. 100% recommended.

I’ve stayed here before as the location is fabulous and there’s great parking. Rooms are really spacious and have a whole sitting room, dining table plus a kitchen. To make it even better the new owners have hired a brilliant chef and while we planned to have just tapas and drinks in the comfy, chic restaurant, we ended up having all the specials of the day and they were sensational It’s definitely the best hotel in Christchurch

Ok ok ok, listen up! The only dog friendly hotel I know of. Food is spot on! Really showcases the Anna's (head chef) confidence in the kitchen and makes for very pleasant and comfortable dining experience with myself and my dog George. Stay the night, pop on for dinner or a drink and snake after work you won't be disappointed.

Lovely rooms with large lounge and modern furnishings and the bed was huge and really comfortable! Loved the little outdoor patio too. They are also pet friendly which is amazing meaning we could bring our small dog for our stay. Location great too. Sadly the bar/restaurant wasn't open most likely due to Covid19 as would have loved to try it out. Only stayed one night but will definitely stay again for longer!!

Recently stayed at Hotel Montreal when I was in Christchurch for a 4-day conference. It was a really pleasant stay, friendly staff, nice bar area to relax and read if that is your thing. We have already booked for next years conference.

The staff and service they provided was fantastic. Food at the restaurant and bar was good. Rooms were well presented and clean. The bed, however, was lumpy and made for a bad night sleep. Also heard the music from the bar at night and in the morning. Would I stay there again, yes, only if it was on the second floor. Or up.

Private dining room was convenient. Room was very large and comfortable with large closets. Coffee and tea, refrigerator.Shower in bathroom could have been better as floor flooded when taking shower. But all in all very pleasing. Staff was very nice.

I recently spent the best part of a week in this amazing Hotel. From the very moment I booked this Hotel for myself and a colleague, the Manager Vicki engaged with us to ensure our business trip would be a comfortable one. Every single staff member excelled as outstanding communicators, the restaurant was 6 star in food quality and wine options. My one bedroom suite was incredibly comfortable considering this was my home away from home for nearly a week. I will return without a doubt....soon

We stayed here for 3 nights for our wedding in March and could not fault them at all. We had a wonderful experience. The staff went out of their way to help us with all our requests and always with a friendly smile. The room we had was beautiful and the breakfast in the morning is one of the best I have had in a hotel. Totally loved it all!

A well done up older hotel, billed as 5 star. A nice property, quite expensive for what it is. Large rooms, with good quality furniture, not particularly sound proof (which on the main road side is bothersome). Bathrooms also very small, probably a throwback to the original hotel. Worth a stay if you can get a deal

Staff were very nice and the room was well furnished - the complimentary chocolate and bottled water were a nice touch. Wifi signal was very weak/not usable in our room and the hotel iPad didn't come with a charger or cable.

Hotel Montreal was a nice overnight stop in Christchurch. We pulled in around mid-day and grabbed a snack in the Polo themed restaurant before heading out for the afternoon and evening. The room we had was spacious and included a kitchenette. It was very comfortable. We were out early the next morning after a nice breakfast.

Fantastic nights stay. Huge big bath and a great shower with two different options. Rain or regular. Heated mirror so no misting up. Very comfy beds and lovely bed linen. I would highly recommend. Staff are very nice and personable. Definately recommend this hotel.

Hotel was not very pleasing to look at from the outside. Once you were inside it was very nice and clean. The fitness room was nice and the food very delicious. Staff could be nicer. All in all a good experience.

Not 5-Star. This hotel proudly advertises itself as having a 5-star QualMark rating, defined as "Facilities and services amongst the best on offer in New Zealand". While good, there is no way this is a 5-Start hotel. GOOD: Location Room Sizes Cleanliness Staff Overall appearance Great shower BAD Road noise: Sliding door to balcony (road side) was not capable of excluding road noise. Bathroom: Tiny basin and not enough bench space. Bathroom: No power-point in bathroom so no way for my wife to dry her hair (with provided hairdryer) in front of a mirror. AirCon: Noisy (fan on and off during the night) and too close to bed. It was a 'wall-hanging type; not ducted. (Our friends had no AC in their bedroom; it was in the separate living room. So keeping bedroom cool was a problem. Did we enjoy the stay? Yes. Was it 5-Star? No. Was it worth NZ$400+/night? No.

Quaint boutique hotel conveniently located, walking distance to parks, shops, bars and restaurants in centre of Christchurch. Polo themed decor. Spacious rooms with a kitchenette. Extremely friendly staff, and a very personalised approach to hospitality. I was greeted by Vicky - hotel owner (or manager, or both, I’m not too sure 🤦🏽‍♀️). She personally wheeled my suitcase to my room and showed me around. Great gym facilities and a delicious chocolate on my nightstand every night, as part of the turndown service.

Amazing restaurant, came here twice and the quality was top notch both times. The wide range of tapas is amazing. I especially enjoyed the croquettes. Also the Picada platter was very nice. The Hereford was smooth as silk and the food was served hot, which is unfortunately an exception in most restaurants in Christchurch. For the desert we had the churros which happened to be amazing as well. Very friendly staff. Will definitely come again

I have eaten many times at The Polo restauarnt, and loved it, but this week I returned and prices had gone up, and less food. Bit disappointing. As easy parking, close to town, friendly staff, shame about the Chef changing the menue and putting the prices up.
