S.It's been changed inside different from when I was last there. It's very good now with a small seating area for lunch and dinner not sure for breakfast. But had a great meal great service from the bar. Food what I ordered was great. Be going back again as I live close by

J.Come to CHCH for 3 days to go to a wedding located out at ohoka park, only about 10 mins to that side of town and the same to the city, maybe even a bit less. There was a group of 6 of us split over 4 rooms. We where pleasantly surprised with our stay here at the Redwoods. This is a place that is very old and a little run down and despite being near a main road is very quiet. Rooms are spacious and clean. A little dated but not bad at all. Beds and pillows really comfortable. Crisp clean fresh sheets & your room is serviced every day with fresh towels and bed made which was a pleasant surprise. Free milk, Bag of chippies and bikkies on arrival too. We had the rooms along the grass field and it was nice to socialize on the grass area. Walking distance to the servo and bottle shop and there's a Restaurant / sports bar attached with a good menu (and salad bar too, winning!) We had Pizzas for dinner and they where bloody yum - plus we had the pesto pasta from the salad bar which was fresh and yum. Would definitely stay here again, Yes its old, but the price and convenience of the place was well worth it. PS Bar Staff where lovely as well, and I forgot to mention we got too free drink vouchers with our accommodation too! This was massive surprise, considering you can have spirts. That's so good. Cheers to the staff - your all amazing.
S.Really impressed with their steak meal with duck fat potatoes and help yourself from the salad bar. $25 which I thought was good value.
N.The service was outstanding. There for a funeral (postponed) caught in Covid lockdown. The hosts went above and beyond with service. Huge breakfast, ensured we had all meals covered, replaced towels daily and our rooms large that also opened up to allow outside in. Can’t thank them enough and no extra cost over room price.
