B.Loved this place! It is huge, there is so many different areas to tuck away into. Back yard with a tramp and slide was great for toddler, and the two birds were a laugh. The large deep fried platter was extreme, way too much for three people
j.What a surprise to find this 'local' pub such a great night out. Friendly crowd, energetic/happy bar staff. As a group of friends we enjoyed placing a few bets on horse races while enjoying a few beers/wine. Ended up staying on for a pizza meal. Worth trying their 'waffle fries'!
A nice double sided gas fire created a warm cosy atmosphere. Several bars to choose from depending on what you are in the mood for. Cards were being played at some tables. Loved the very interesting historical photos displayed all around the pub. Outdoor areas were heated & sheltered. I noticed an advert for live music Friday nights so we will return.
K.Haven't been here for a few years, love what they've done to the place, especially outside area. The food is good and nicely priced and wine good value. Often stay in motorhome at the river reserve and will definatlely come back for meals and drinks, service was excellent and friendly staff.

S.A truly unique place to go for a local beer, went again and the service is above anything you could ask for. Table service was the best and really enjoyed not having to go up and purchase your drinks. Well done to the team 👏 👍

t.Work drinks. Chef had left but bar snacks available. Pizza $19, burger $16, fish n chips $22. Wasnt to keen on $32 platter, over priced, not worth the price. Over all great staff and awsum service

B.Was looking forward to experiencing the quaint old tables and chairs our great grandparents had! Unfortunately the whole area was roped of for a birthday, which on a Saturday afternoon ticked me off to be honest as non smokers were now out on the veranda with the smokers, and eating out lunch...
The pub is well situated just as you come of the bridge and round the corner from Napier, so a lot of people stop for lunch. Plus it's the only pub in that area..

G.A must do experience. Step into the past in this quaint restaurant/ pub. We really enjoyed our meals and have never seen such meaty ribs!

I.Really charming place, down 1 star as they allow smoking on the outside deck which just wafts inside. I hate eating and smelling second hand smoke. Friendly staff, decked out in Art Deco style and the bathroom facilities are really well presented.
K.Vegetarian filo was just amazing... that cream cheese was a perfect combination. I have never tried something like that before. Also the ambience is amazing. Art deco style suits napier vibes perfectly. Outdoor seating is amazing overlooking the river and bridge. Great to enjoy on a sunny day.

J.We had my Mother's 90th Birthday at the Clive hotel last Saturday. Amazing staff, went out of their way to make her day so special. My Mum has lived in Clive all her life so to have the celebration in Clive Hotel has made it even more special for her. Thank You Clive Hotel .
R.Great atmosphere, friendly bar staff
J.Ate there with a group. Atmosphere was good. Food was generally pretty good but the chef apparently doesn't know what medium rare looks like let alone know how to cook it. We had two medium rare steaks come out medium well. One got sent back and they bought it back out again claiming the the chef said it was medium rare and they wouldn't redo it. The steak was cooked all the way through except for about 5mm in the middle that had a hint of pink.

D.Friendly and comfortably causal. Good Kiwi tucker , good location and easy parking . Nice place to take out of town visitors as you can go for a walk along the Clive river easily from here.

k.Dinner was delicious. The Clive Pork Ribs were melt in the mouth. The Beefburger was huge and delicious. The atmosphere was great and the service excellent. The new menu was great

N.Sports-pub with tasty Pizza (watch for specials!) Toilets could have been cleaner and maintained (lock on the men's didn't work) but I'm sure they'll get to that.

If you ever have the chance to stop here for a bite to eat you must.
We had the mussels, meat lovers pizza and ribs. Each dish quite different but all brilliant.
Each dish owned it.
The pizza had more flavour and more meat than any I’ve had in memory.
The ribs were all meat and no fat. The seasoning was subtle but so effective. Most ribs chefs try too hard to make a distinct impression and stuff if up. These ribs are the best.
Then we come to the mussels, I was a little sceptical with the sweet chilli sauce but the match with creamy garlic was off the chain. I can’t wait to return!

D.Relaxed and calm atmosphere. Had the bar snacks, generous portions, reasonable price. Sat in the lounge area, retro furniture, comfortable and quiet. Friendly staff and clean presentation of premises.
D.Man, this place was very unexpected! Love how they've decked the place out, makes for a fantastic venue for small groups to get together. We have started using the place for our business networking group - prefect!

M.Two sides of one coin ... casual friendly pub on one side ... kitschy cafe/restaurant on the other side! Great outdoor area with sun umbrellas. Snacks, meals, pizzas, cabinet food. Great local hotel!
