We only visited for lunch but would highly recommend!
The staff were all so lovely and friendly.
Our waffles and coffee came out really quickly.
The waffles were yummy and the coffee made to perfection.
Would definitely eat here again

Dunstan House in Clyde is a lovely establishment which provides accommodation, a cafe and some limited meeting space. Historically and tastefully decorated it very pleasant setting for gatherings. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit here if you are in Clyde.

This stunning heritage hotel is possibly the best place I have stayed anywhere in the world. With high timber ceilings, a grand wooden staircase, evocative rooms that echo with the history of the gold rush era and all that has come since, Dunstan House brings authentic 19th century style and grace into the 21st century. Stretch out on a sofa on the upstairs balcony and imagine you are a gold rush high roller; and stroll the silent main street of Clyde after dark and listen to the sound of gold rush ghosts. A delicious breakfast is included with the room rate and the coffee is excellent. So join the gold rush and discover Clyde on the Dunstan.

Outstanding and authentic, a historic building and experience but with modern comforts. Definitely recommend booking the Ellen Jennings Suite. The food in the cafe below is excellent. Remember it's an old building so some tolerance around being quiet and consideration for other guests is needed. A cup of tea on the balcony at sunset is a stunning and relaxing experience. The super food salad is probably the best I've ever had. Very friendly welcome and wish we'd spent longer. We will be going back, thanks for a magical experience.

From the Beautiful old girl greeting (Zoe a chocolate brown Labrador wagging us welcome from the owners gate) to sleeping in the gorgeous Fleur Sullivan suite - I can’t rate this historic place highly enough. Fab hosts as well.

Fantastic service, beautiful cabinet food, lovely afternoon tea in the lounge for our group. Dunstan house caters for vegans etc. Highly recommended. Visited again on 24th February, wonderful friendly staff, beautiful afternoon tea, I loved the dairy free, gluten free raspberry coconut slice.

Room. small but comfortable. Shared bathroom was our room's. It was clean, fresh and okay. Room lacked space for cases, but had hanging hooks
D.
Very old hotel but a great place to start the rail trail in Otago puts you in a good mood. Great restaurant across the road
S.
Nice place however limited food and beverage options. They did keep it tidy despite lack of variety.

We try to visit this cafe in the beautifully restored stone building each time we are in Clyde.
The experience is truly outstanding from the interior historic character to the welcoming staff but our visit during the past weekend was notable for the quality of the food. Very seldom do I stop eating and think that this meal is absolute perfection in presentation, taste, freshness and combination and I did not want it to end. My partner's meal was equally impressive.
Well done to Meredith who appeared to be working tirelessly in the kitchen.
We were once treated to a tour of the restored accommodation side of the business and we would highly recommend it as a destination with outstanding character for a short stay. It would be like stepping back in time 130 years.

Meredith and Ian were truly hospitable and friendly, lovely with our daughter, who was also quite obsessed with their labrador. Beautiful genuinely historic building in a great location. Lovely vibe in the cafe.

We had a wonderful two night stay here. Ian & Meredith were so hospitable. Very quaint rooms and immaculately clean. Lovely food at the cafe too. A real treat to stay here :-).
V.
Warm beautiful restaurant. Delicious , well presented food, coffee and amazing friendly hospitality. Tha ambience was friendly and decorated as per an old inn. Very worthwhile and disability friendly.

We had the Tastet platter between myself and my parter. What a flavourful experience of local produces including a Benjer juice which is also local. Loved every bite. The staff were amazing, friendly and happy to inform us on where the produce came from. Not to mention the creative talent of the kitchen staff in making some amazing spreads for the platter. I highly recommend this place for snacks, meals or just a nice cold beverage out the front.

Cheese rolls are yum. But you must go there and try the cheesecake, it is to die for. Coffee is not bad as well. Lovely service from friendly staff.

My husband and I give Dunstan House the highest recommendation possible. We stayed 3 days and loved every minute of this beautiful restored building. The place is immaculately clean, food and coffee simply perfect and the hosts were amazing.
It was like stepping back in time and feeling the wealth of those in the bygone Mining days ... thank you

Cosy atmosphere, really friendly service and yum food. I had the eggs bene, but also all the cabinet food looked really good too! Would definitely recommend this place for a nice lunch spot; I’ll be back for sure :)

Absolutely lovely place for lunch. Service a little slow but it was busy. Best platter we have had in a long while

Service on booking a room was friendly and just what we were after. Thank you Ian for a prompt friendly reply. Kindest regards to you. We look forward to our stay soon.

The best iced coffee & scramble eggs on toast I have EVER had, having tried quite a few in my time. Also had the yummy coffee / walnut wheel as a takeaway - for afternoon tea (Yum). Could also choose a combination of salads. Wife had beetroot salad & rice salad (1/2, 1/2 option) which was also very yummy, especially the rice salad. Ate outside down alley-way in the cooling shade on a hot sunny day.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.

Two drinks to takeaway came to $13 which I don't usually mind paying, however luke warm hot chocolate was quite disappointing. Good, friendly service was a plus.

What a great place to stop for brunch! The food was delicious with some interesting menu options, not just your standard items. Meredith and Ian were so welcoming also. Highly recommend.
k.
Great experience as always. One of the few places that serves tea in fine China cups. It does make a difference.
G.
Love it - great people, friendly and efficient service and quality food (and coffee). Vegan friendly.

The food was amazing

Besides the food and the historical collections, it’s a Good place to see how to select wall papers for the heritage house in mid of 19 century 2.

What a fantastic place to stay in Clyde! This was the first place of stay at the start of our Otago Rail Trail biking holiday. Hosts Meredith & Ian are excellent hosts and were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The accommodation itself was like living back in the 1900s as the place is full with antiques and old-fashioned fixtures & fittings. In saying that, everything operated perfectly and immaculately presented! There's a gorgeous inhouse cafe where you can find loads of home-baked yummy treats and good-sized portions. Was lovely just sitting on the verandah, relaxing and watching the world go by.
