P.Warm rooms just weird that the rooms aren't connected to any of the facilities like the cafe or restaurant only the gym. Having to always unlock the outer door was a bit strange too.

P.I go there every 6 months and its been 7years since i am going to this place. Hire their conference room for special events and its always been a great experience. Very friendly staff. Nice bar and restaurant at the same property and always a busy place with tourists. Beautiful views. Cromwell is a nice little town in itself.
B.I stayed here as part of a Middle Earth tour with Red Carpet Tours. It isn't the flashest hotel, but it was cosy. A nice walk around the outside after dark to look at the stars on a nice clear night.
R.Large functional room and good cafe but for the price (NZD 185) was surprised that washbasin was not in bathroom, the bathroom ceiling had peeling paint, and there was no air con that I could find (and the stuffy room meant a bad night's sleep).
C.Could've stayed forever in the little hotel. So warm and welcoming! Reasonable room rates too. Would stay here again.

R.What a wonderful spot. Hotel is gorgeous and walking distance to everything. The rooms are huge and the balcony is a great plus.

S.Great stay at the Gate. Restaurant and bar is superb. Good food and warm hospitality. I can recommend the slow roasted lamb shoulder with a good pinot noir.
Rooms are large, warm and well appointed. Considering it's been snowing the last two days this makes a big difference.

F.We stayed 3 nights. We couldn't fault the room, Michelle your awsum. The Forage has a great breakfast menu and the five stags served an awsum meal with great service. We will be back 😁🤗
